It was ok for a couple nights so we could see the Speedway because there didn't seem to be any other place to stay. But, it's a one row strip of campsites along the fence at the back of the fairgrounds. Basically mowed weeds, dirt and rocks on a big asphalt parking lot. With trash cans. And hook-ups. I would hate to be there when it needs to be one camper per site instead of two. But, the utilities worked fine. When you drive in gate six the campground is straight ahead. Sites 1-8 don't have sewer but all of the rest do. Verizon worked well. Lots of OTA TV and no trees blocking our satellite. Some small grassy areas but overall not a very good place for dogs. We won't return, but it was ok for a couple nights because of the location. - thekites
Jul 2017 - $30.00
So this one is a little sticky. I found this fairground on rv park reviews and then went on the state fairground website that instructed that there was year round camping spots available and to just go to gate 6 and pick a spot. They further instructed that security would find you and check you in. Well, we arrived and we didn't find the campground on the fairground but security and the managers were soooooo nice and accommodated us by allowing us to stay in the park a few blocks away that they used for people working the fair. They didn't have many people there yet for the fair so it was okay for one night. It was plenty big enough for the 45' coach and had lots of spaces to choose from. They were very nice about the whole thing, from start to finish. I highly recommend you call first to ask about any camping and disregard the webpage. Call the security office or the fairground to find out about options. - MEvan

Jul 2016 - $50.00
We stayed here for four nights in the notorious "Coke Lot" in May 2016. It was our first time to the Indy 500 and we had a fabulous time! All the horror stories we had heard about this lot did not manifest for us in any way. But there are quite a few reasons our stay was so great. Here are the tips: Line up early on the first day to gain entrance (5-6am). This is THE most important thing to do to ensure you get a spot away from the all-night partying debauchery. Show your Handicapped placard if you have one (or plead to placed there) and you will get a prime space on the NorthEast side of the lot, which backs up to a small stream. There will be no campers behind you and the lot on the other side of the stream is only used for day parking on race day = nice and quiet! There is a road directly in front of you = no campers. In fact, the green space in front of us beyond the gravel road did not fill up with tent campers until the day before. Our area was lined with wonderful RV'ers whom were older (like us) and incredibly friendly. All of the craziness was on the other side of the lot, where mostly everyone was tent camping. The noise was never a problem, because of it being off in the distance. (Certainly fun to go for a walk at night, though!) We were a short walk to the track. As others have mentioned, no hookups whatsoever, but water trucks, pump out trucks and ice vendors readily available. The first two night were virtually calm, as most people really don't show up until Sat. Our experience was amazing and we now know why the Indy 500 is "The Greatest Spectacle in Racing"! - jensenly
May 2014 - $88.00
When I decided to camp at IMS for the 2014 Indy 500, I could not find any information or reviews for their lots available with electric. All I could find was about the notorious "Coke" lot, which is first-come, first-served, no electricity and 4 nights of mayhem. So, I wanted to write this review in order that first time campers might have some insight into the camping options at IMS with electric. We stayed in lot 3P, which is a paved parking lot on 16th street directly across from the Speedway. When I arrived, we were greeted, then a staff member escorted us to a site and connected our electricity. Electricity was provided through onsite generators which ran 24 hours a day. Although this noise was constant, we get used to it and overall, ,the noise level was more than acceptable. We went to bed every night by 11:00 and had no trouble sleeping. For those who needed it, fresh water delivery was available and onsite sewage pump outs as well. This was not a luxury camping experience by any means, but our expectations were exceeded in terms of convenience and atmosphere. We walked to the track in a couple of minutes and enjoyed our neighbors without having to deal with out of control partying. Please understand, there was plenty of good times happening in this lot, but things stayed reasonable and ended each evening at a reasonable hour. We had a spot reserved and 24 hour staff onsite. It was a bit pricey, but worth every penny in terms of convenience. - Phil from Akron

Lot 4: Our home for the Brickyard 400 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. One of the only times a year we " rough it." No electric or water hookups, so conserve what's in the tank and make sure you have empty black/grey tanks because there are no dumpstations either. It sounds bad, but we love it! Bring your generator if you want air conditioning though. It gets pretty hot out here. - Jason & Jennifer

This RV park is only open during racing events that are at the track across the street and at the Indy Motor Speedway, so about 30 days per year.
The park is beautiful and very well laid out. The is grass at every site and 50 amp electric. They have a double dump station and water station.
We attended the Brickyard 400, and stayed here as it was only 8 miles to the race track, much closer than other places. Though they might have been a little less as far as space rent goes, the convenience of Raceview made it worth the extra money for us.
If you are attending any race in the area we highly recommend staying here. - prstlkid
Sep 2010 - $50.00
I'm staying here for the Labor Day week NHRA Nationals. Being a gearhead, I frequently camp "at the track" at quite a few different motorsport events and I find this place to be quite a nice experience. And the event package price of $400, when spread out over the 8 nights of the event and considering that this is an event-oriented campsite, is pretty reasonable. The campground and the spots are fairly level, the roads are gravel and smooth and there is well maintained grass everywhere. I'll stay here again. I've paid as much before and gotten much less. - wazafarmer
Jul 2010 - $16.00
This is a campground in a field across from O'Reilly Raceway Park. There are some shaded sites along 2 tree lines. The rest of the campground is open. This is a race-oriented crowd, so be aware of the fireworks and music in the evenings. There is an sanitation dump for RVs. A short walk to the drag strip. If you're going to the oval track the walk is considerably longer. Generators are allowed. - revrnd

This is pretty much a typical KOA except for the service....the people at the desk were exceptional!! We pulled in a matter of minutes before closing but they still greeted us with big smiles and offered to make us a pizza and deliver it to our site. Then, when we went to pull into our site, a huge rock was in the way. It had obviously been hit by someone who didn't bother to let the staff know. So, I ran back up to the office and stopped the young people who were closing up and getting into their cars. They gladly got the backhoe out and came down - in the still pouring rain - to move the rock so we could get parked. Service like that is rare and much appreciated. The site itself was plenty long enough and fairly level gravel. All hook-ups were convenient and worked well. We didn't bother to hook up the cable but were able to get many channels from the antenna. The wi-fi was good. We would definitely stay here again. - SandyA
Oct 2018 - $46.00
Indiana has one of the largest RV industries in the nation. It is fitting, therefore, that Indianapolis should have one of the best KOAs in the nation. It's not a perfect 10, mind you. It has its problems. For one thing, the office is rather challenging to get to. You have to follow a long winding road, and then pull your rig between two buildings. That done, however, the large sites are easy to get into. Moreover, they've instituted a practice that I'd like to see more frequently: They alternate the entry direction from site to site. So if I enter my site heading west, my neighbors on both sides will enter heading east. Why do I like this complicated practice? Because when I open my door to get out of my RV, or simply to enjoy the scenery, I'm looking at my neighbor's front door, not at his sewer hookup. I suspect that it also increases the social interaction between neighbors, but I have had enough experience with the practice to be sure. The campground as a whole is huge and well shaded, with a creek running down the middle. There are ample play areas for the kids, and lots of space for walking. The freeway is nearby, but the noise is not intrusive. - Jim Fulton
Oct 2018 - $50.00
We enjoyed a 3 night stay here while sight seeing in Indy. This is one of the nicest KOA's we have stayed at. Our site had beautiful trees in front with a clear satellite view to the rear. Easy access, interior roads (swing wide like the sign states when going to the office), and 100'+ pull through premium sites are all big rig friendly. Tons of gravel roads, paths and grass areas to walk and ride. Super friendly family runs this campground and guide you to your site. The only negative is highway noise from 70. - barbielab

Nice campground. Many full time residents and workers but most places are kept tidy. Utilities are solid. Didn't try cable since we could easily use our satellite in the pull thru area. When I made the reservation, I was told only 2 nights available but on check in, asked again and she was able to make 3 nights happen so I appreciate the lady working that day making a little extra effort to accommodate us. Sites are fairly level and some what close but not intrusive. The WiFi is typical campground slow and clunky but it does work. I would stay here again if ever in the area. - Pjoe
Sep 2018 - $35.00
Affordable park with decent sites that are good for exploring the Indy area. The sites are ground up asphalt and organized in a back to back pull through organization where you share a common hook up area with your neighbor. The sites are very close together with a small grass area and picnic table in the passenger side living area. We did not check out the bathrooms or laundry area. The wifi, however, worked. - Gary Gilliam
Sep 2018 - $35.00
Just 6 miles south of downtown Indy, Lake Haven is easily the closest RV park. The park is located in a very industrial area of town, with the associated large trucks and dust. South Indy itself is a little gritty. The park is fairly large and surrounds a fishing lake and grassy park. They arrange most of the sites in pairs back to back with both rigs sharing the FHU utilities; consequently, you are also facing front to front with the next rig and share a grass/picnic table area. It's a very quiet park with a majority of permanent residents, so this method worked fine, but it would be bad if your shared front yard neighbor was a party animal. Regardless, we lucked out with an end site overlooking the lake, spent many evenings sitting out enjoying the view. Only one combined laundry and bathhouse near the main office, so a bit of a hike from the back lots. Friendly and efficient staff keep the grounds very tidy. - Todd Hancock

First off, this is a fish camp lots of people coming and going to fish for very large carp and catfish. They are very quiet. Sites are all back in but easy to get into. About 3/4 semi-permanent RVers. Owner and staff are great. Water pressure is high, electricity works great, they have some sort of cable (we didn't use). Office is manned 24/7 except for Monday night. - Landyachty
Mar 2016 - $32.00
We were in the 200-209 area and it is a gravel parking lot. Utilities set up OK, good wifi in the area. No bath house close. No tables, patio or fire rings in this area. - dfc
Jul 2014 - $26.00
We stayed one night in a 40 ft MH. There is a very large sewage plant across the street, although it didn't smell the night we stayed. The sites are all back in and are gravel. The park is older and is located next to a busy road. The park has two stocked ponds that allow 24 hour fishing by the general public for a fee. There are a lot of non-campers driving thru the park at all hours. The staff is friendly and the fishing / office is open 24 hours a day. Not a park for small children because the ponds are open and have high banks. - Tom222

We arrived for a one nite stay with 3 granddaughters age 9, 12 & 13. No information at front desk. We were escorted to our site up a very scary hill. The Site was sufficient and across the road from bath house. We walked down another hill and played mini golf. Pool had too much chlorine for the girls to swim long. When leaving, drove down the 2nd hill, not quite as scary as the one going up. - ajoy922

This place is the best. They really cater to everything. Huge playground for kids including jump houses and a trampoline that I'd like to take a bounce on. Owner does an excellent job of keeping the place neat and tidy. - 4deepinanrv
Oct 2017 - $38.00
As we approached there were no roadside signs indicating park's name or which driveway was the entrance. After we disconnected from the truck, got level, extended the slides and connected the utilities, we discovered that the power pedestal did not have power. One of the workers said that they were having trouble with the underground wiring and offered to relocate us. Later I noticed that the romex wire from one light standard to the next was laying ON TOP of the ground. The park claims to have 360 spaces but when I tried to use the only laundry I found a tiny room with just 2 washers and 2 driers, and the staff was uncertain where the closest laundromat was. The store inventory was primarily candy and chips with almost no RV or camping supplies. The overall appearance of the facilities was one of a general lack of caring. - tweymouth

Feb 2018 - $36.00
OK, it's February in Indianapolis and not many places were open. Surprised to see how many people are living year-around in this park and all the creative way they were using to "insulate" and "winterize" their rigs. Some rigs were in good shape, but many did not look road-worthy. A fifth wheel down the road had interconnected yurt structures and it looked like he was heating with wood. (Wood splitter next to rig.) There were trash bags scattered around the park and did not see a dumpster to dispose of trash. After going over to check out bathhouse, I decided I would not use the restrooms or showers. Stayed here in desperation--would not stay again. - RagTopDay
Jul 2017 - $20.00
After reading other reviews, thought it couldn't be that bad - but it is. Grouchy, slow check in. GS discount only good for one night. Grass up to your knees, if you want it cut, you must borrow their mower and do it yourself. Muddy 'beach' Gross indoor pool. Old moldy trailers everywhere. Trash sitting around. Water was BROWN. Electric went out on us twice. Sewer hookup was crushed. Picnic table sitting in a rectangle of mud from previous occupant's mat and dog run. Management doesn't care. - cincychic

First the positives: next to a river, close to a golf course and shopping. The negatives: Over priced for the facilities, poorly kept with long grass and very poor restrooms with very primitive showers. This camp is not very big rig friendly with limbs and power lines that should be higher. Get a firm price before accepting a spot. We were quoted $35 when we made our advance reservation. The price jumped up to $38 when we arrived. We mentioned membership to FMCA and Good Sam so he discounted down to $35! I like to feel like I can trust the camp ground owner to shoot straight. We will not stay here again. It's just to primitive. - Beech35p
Aug 2013 - $22.00
We loved this charming campground! The price was amazing, especially for a full hookup, and it was cleaner than the last state park we visited. The facilities are not modern, but are well-maintained. We camped less than 20 ft from the riverbank! Everyone was very friendly. We can't wait to go back and camp there again! - HomeIsWhereYouParkIt

Was told $28 for full hook up. Had electric and water. No sewer. Still paid $28. Grass needs mowing. Roads are barely there in the section we were in. No garbage cans on site. One picnic table for two sites. Entire section of what looks to be a junkyard with live-ins. Picture shows a beautiful pool. It is a hole in the ground with the liner all torn up in a fenced area with chickens. Very run down. Dump! - Grams and Pops

Grass needed mowing, drives gravel with pot holes. Our site was muddy and needed to have more gravel spread. Stayed here for Doctor's appointment on North side of Indianapolis. - Teacher's Pet
Aug 2016 - $29.00
This park has a 10 pull through 50amp sites in an area without trees, with most of the campground's sites occupied by season campers in a woods. As in the past little has been done to correct the interior roads and pad conditions. If it rains your site will be water covered since the road is slightly higher than the campsites. Needs work, but it is close to the Indianapolis north side where we had an appointment early the next morning. This trip the voltage at the pedestal was at about 105-110V, not that way in the past. - Teacher's Pet
