Tough for 45ft rigs. Mostly, in fact, almost all seasonal trailers. We got one of the few spots with 50 amps. Took "creative" backing. We are here for 13 nights. Swimming in the lake available. Would not recommend this park for short term but nice spot for long term. - Cornerstone 18
Aug 2016 - $38.00
Nice clean park, all sites were full hook-up. Rented pontoon and went through chain of 5 lakes. Great time. - Diedrick
Jun 2016 - $39.00
The camp ground was very clean, great security, very friendly. The pool was warm and clean and facilties were very clean. Store had everything you could ask for and reasonable prices. Can not wait to stay again. - barbnted

Gordon's always has planned activities-horseshoe, bingo, magic shows, karaoke-just depends on the weekend. The sites are random-you just pick your own depending on where you need electricity-which is a bonus so no site is "too small" like other campgrounds. Bathrooms/showers are not very updated. Outside pool is nice and they did update a few years ago. We've been going there for several years and never have an issue with the staff or other campers. Two dump station but no full hook up sites. - TS19
Jul 2009 - $40.00
This campground is under newer ownership and appears to be more suited to the seasonal camper than travelers or local families. The people at the office were not very friendly nor management team well signified. The site we were approved to set up on was apparently the parking spot used by a seasonal camper; thus creating an attitude problem for him (and therefore us) the entire weekend. The bathrooms and showers were not kept clean in a timely manner during this overly growled holiday weekend. Sites are not marked thus allowing campers and cars to be parked everywhere. I'm sure this campground was over their set capacity. The speed limit was not enforced, and with too many golf carts on the road at all hours, this created hazardous conditions for the many children roaming around. Scheduled activities were not well organized, nor conducted on-time. Our overall impressions were, obviously, not good and we would not recommend this campground to anyone passing through. There are many other campgrounds within the area, therefore my buck would definitely have been spent better elsewhere; and probably have been welcomed considering today's economy. - scrapperdmk
Jun 2009 - $30.00
We camped there during the Kids Festival weekend. The location was nice... not too far away from home but far enough to "be away". They had lots of activities for the kids to do but some were a little cheesy. Our site just had electric with some grass but no shade to speak of. Luckily it wasn't a hot weekend. Wasn't exactly a quiet place but not horribly noisy. We'd stay there again in the off season. - Chic

A really lovely place, but not very accessible for a big rig. Once you get in the campground, the sites are large and randomly placed it seemed. Lots of city park-like things to do, but it never seems crowded. WiFi is iffy. We would stay here again. - carderh
Sep 2012 - $21.00
This is a very nice, clean, friendly park on a lake. The sites are in grass, big, roomy, long sites, friendly staff. They could use to trim a few trees near the roads in park. I would camp here again if in area. - 2Germans
Jun 2009 - $30.00
We were made to feel very welcome at this campground. Staff was very friendly and always noticeable. Other campers were welcoming. Bathrooms and showers were clean. Park area for the kids are numerous and up-to-date. Swimming area was clean and well supervised. Would recommend this campground to anyone passing through. - scrapperdmk

This is a mobile home park with around 5 sites for RVs, however it was exactly what we needed: a place to spend the night while traveling during a snow storm in November. Everything else in the area was closed for winter, but we called ahead and fortunately got a site here. Staff was accommodating and helpful. Our 40-foot motorhome and car just fit (after disconnecting our car -- back-in site). Our site was relatively level, but the site next to us low in the front. It's a fair distance from the Interstate but easy to get to. Since we were just here overnight we don't have a lot to say, other than it's a fine place for a couple night stay in an RV. AT&T and Verizon worked fine. - LifeRebooted
Aug 2012 - $20.00
Nice little place with mobile homes being their primary business. Being that there is only 5 sites I would recommend calling first. Clean, friendly, black topped roads and shopping close by, hardware store across the street, McD's down the street as is a grocery, CVS, candy making business and a quaint little town. On a main N/S highway (Detroit St or SR 9) but minimal road noise. Back in gravel sites with grass all around and a wooden deck making for a nice site. For $20 this is a great place but because of no other amenities I only gave it an 8. We will use this place again. - rvngolfer

Awesome state park.level sites. We were able to reach a water spigot from our site.nice beach on lake. - Bjb1775
Jun 2018 - $35.00
Very busy weekend; nearly every site was full. Site 370 is level and very shady, but large trees close to the pad prevented full awning deployment. Helpful staff and well stocked camp store. Restrooms were as clean as could be expected given the high camper volume. - The Flying Dutchman
Sep 2016 - $30.00
We stayed for 4 nights Labor day weekend. The campground was sold out but they had crews cleaning the restrooms and shower areas several times a day. The camp store always had fresh ice and groceries available. We rented boats and canoes and fished. It is a great camp for our family and we are planning on making it an annual event. There were 7 of us and we reserved 2 campsites next to each other. - Smiley58

Plenty of room, host very friendly, nice pool for the kids. Roads were very dusty, guess it hadn't rained in a while. - PawPaw1969
Jun 2018 - $20.00
A very nice park with wide sites, extremely clean restrooms and showers. You park on grass with water and electricity. There is a lot of shade and plenty of well maintained play grounds for children. We will definitely come back. It is very good value for the money and close to the Amish area. - Skip Pratt
Jul 2017 - $17.00
You have to make reservations. They provide Passport America and Escapees discounts. The park is clean, and the host couple that check you in are very nice people. We love seeing them each time we have stayed here, and this was our third stay. We camped in site A2 this visit, and we were very thankful for the host couple to assign us to a very nice spot. We had 30 amps and water. All our utility hookups worked great. There are dump stations, restrooms, showers, a swimming pool, a very nice playground, and tennis courts. Out our back window was a view of a soybean field. It was a quiet and restful RV campground. We went to Sturgis, Michigan for Walmart, laundromat, and diesel fuel. Sturgis is 5 miles north of Howe, Indiana. Diesel fuel is much cheaper in Sturgis, Michigan than Indiana. We are so thankful for the host couple for making sure we had a space to stay at for our 3rd visit to Grand View Bend Campground! They are the nicest people! The two improvements would be to improve the dusty interior roads by the short-term RV campers and trim the tree limbs on the route to the dump station. Our site at A2 was not as dusty as those on the line along the fence. We would definitely return for another stay if in the area in the future. - Lindy White

Oct 2018 - $42.00
We accessed the campground off State Road 20 and the RV park is approximately 1/2 north on Van Buren Street. We arrived on a Sunday and there was no traffic however the entrance drive to the RV park may not be easily seen if traffic was present. Check-in was arranged over the phone so we never did speak to a campground staff member in person. Directions and paperwork relevant to our site were prepared for us and waiting for our arrival in the "late check-in box". Travel to our site was easy enough and the pull thru was plenty long enough for our 42 ft motorhome. Utilities were convenient and operated properly. We used satellite TV and did not have any issues but there are trees nearby and foliage could be a hinderance at some sites. We did not use cable or over the air TV. WIFI was available. We stayed overnight and would not hesitate to stay again if in the area. - Darrell M
Oct 2018 - $42.00
We have stayed here before and it is our favorite campground when in the area. Staff is super and lots of spaces. We had no problem getting around with our 45 footer and tow. - hug448844

Easy big rig access and long level pull through sites for any size rig. We used this as our base to explore the area. Quiet, pretty setting that is just a 20 minute walk to town. - barbielab

Would rate higher if sites were not grass and there was more gravel on the roads. We were there after the heavy rains of spring 2015. Management was very cooperative and the connecting lakes were great for fishing. They are small enough that skiing would be difficult, but Lake Wawasee is close by county roads.
Lake Wawasee has no private campgrounds so this works well for that. Good family campground. - mcguyvered

Park is basically a large parking lot next to the flea market. No bathroom or shower facilities. - Squid701
Jun 2018 - $39.00
This is a great park for the flea market. You can walk to the flea market from your site. Had 50 amp, water, and sewer. As stated this is a no frills campground. Site was level and roomy with enough room for motorhome and tow vehicle. Very well marked to find you site, each road had the site number sign. We would stay again. - belanga
May 2018 - $39.00
A no frills park. Full hookup sites and nothing else. Close to everything in Shipshewana. Most sites are pull through but utilities are located such that your neighbor will probably pull in from the opposite direction. Water and electric at end of site so will require extra hose and cable. Some sites have water and electric on opposite side from sewer. Most sites look reasonably level but some are not. No wifi but Verizon worked well. - Windshift

We stayed at this campground using our Thousand Trails "Trails Collection" membership. The campground itself is an older campground with over 500 sites. Most, if not all, of the sites have electric and water. Many have full hookups. The main clientele is made up of seasonal campers. There are many nicely done spots, with park model trailers and attractive landscaping. There are also many sites for traveling/weekend campers. Less of them are FHU, but many of them are. The campsites are in a primarily pine forest with lots of shade (and pinecones). There's a big pool, a few playgrounds, and limited lake access. Only a very few spots actually afford lake views and they have been occupied by permanent residents for many years. Over the weekend the place was very busy. The campground, while not full, was well used and there were activities, mainly for the kids. It seemed that everyone had a campfire and at times the smoke was so thick it looked as if a heavy fog had descended on the place. Once the weekend passed and the majority of the campers left, the air cleared. Our only big complaint was associated with our arrival. Unlike Thousand Trails which is (supposedly) first-come-first-served so far as campsites are concerned, the Trails Collection campgrounds let you specify your site amenities, if available. At least that's how it is supposed to work. When we reserved we were told we would get a FHU site. When we arrived we were told that, in spite of the many vacant FHU sites, that we would have to take a water/electric site. That didn't work well for us, especially since we were in for a longer stay. Ultimately, we were given a FHU site. The lesson is, apparently, that even if you reserve a site with certain amenities you may not get them when you arrive. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay there and would return. - nazpaz
Jun 2018 - $1.00
This is a very large park and could be a great park if TT would spend some money on maintaining the grounds. Tree limbs need to be trimmed back and sites need gravel added. We had to back around trees and parked autos left in street by full time people. Now the good points. Ladies at check in desk were very nice and helpful. The lake looked great with docks to tie your boat up too. The restrooms were clean but need updating. I talked to many full time people and they were all nice and helpful. We had a full hook spot 30 amp and all worked well. They were located at rear of coach. Our site was dirt but it did drain well and was hard packed. - roaming around
Apr 2018 - $16.00
Great Passport America rate. We were given a standard site - back-in. Water/electric. Big park with lots of seasonals. Our 30 amp connection not good. Used another sites elec which was fine. Campground notified. - Rhodie
