This park is just OK... nothing special. You pay an entry fee just to get in the park. The bath house was convenient, but needs some updating. As usual, no hooks in the bath house, or shower mats/benches in the showers. We camped at Versailles State Park in a Tent Trailer.

Our site didn't easily accomadate our camper & truck AT ALL! It took awhile to get a hold of anybody by phone & when we did, she said someone be there right away. An hour later he showed up! It was storming, so when he showed up we were parked! Roads were EXTREMELY TIGHT to maneuver. It took fellow campers to help us get out the day we left. We camped at Versailles State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Great park in loop A we stayed in had 3 restroom /shower areas which was nice on busy weekends. Plenty to do at Park hiking trials, mountain bike trails (fee) pool in season (fee). The only reason for not a 10, is signage could be better directing you thru turns in campground. Most sites in campground A will need leveling some quit a bit, our site was at a dead end easy to get into but if you have a large unit careful planning to go around the cul-de-sac for sites 81 thru 86 looked to be best to go around the right side . The other loops looked to be level but mostly full sun. All sites appeared to be paved in all three campground loops. We camped at Versailles State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Park is very nice and there is plenty of space between campsites. Paved roads for walking or bike riding. There is only one water fill station at the entrance and a two way dump station. The line was long especially for the dump station on Sunday. Biggest issue is the bath house in serious need of updating. (See pictures) camping rate at $30 (electric only) and $9 entrance fee to drive in the gate should allow for modernization of the showers. I will go back but would like to see the updates. Lake, nice pool for additional fee, trails. Great park with exception of shower house. We camped at Versailles State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Pretty State Park, mediocre campground. Nightly rate does not include one-time $7 entry fee for Indiana residents. The campground is maintained, however the overall look is that of a place that needs some fresh investments. The men's shower house has one private shower, and then one locker room style shower room with a couple shower heads and no privacy. Also, there's no ability to adjust the temperature and we found the showers to be too hot. The sites are a little on the short side, so most folks had to park their tow vehicles sideways in order to stay out of the road. The interior roads are very narrow, and unbelievably, there is a water spigot at the only entrance to campground B- so multiple folks were filling their tanks prior to entering the campground, thus creating a backup for the rest of us trying to get in or out. Sites are electric only. The sites are generally well separated, but there is no privacy between sites. A nice canopy of trees exists on the perimeter sites but we noticed several dead branches waiting to fall that should be removed. Same goes for the pretty trails- numerous "widow makers" hung over the trails. Several days after rain we noted standing water and muddy ground, so I'm guessing this place has occasional flooding issues, judging also by the fresh straw that was placed at some of the sites. Mosquitos were pretty bad in the evenings. The camp store has only the most basic provisions; firewood is reasonably priced at $5 for eight pieces that you select yourself. At&t cell service is good, and we received several over the air TV stations. There are canoe, kayak and row boat rental available. Fishing looks decent. We camped at Versailles State Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a very nice, peaceful park that is the second largest in the Indiana state park system. It is well designed: the sites are all close to a shower/bathroom facility. Those facilities were clean and had good hot water. They seem to be strict about only one tow vehicle per site, but overflow lots available for extra vehicles. The area is beautiful in the fall, with many sites in the woods.

Site grades inside loop are flat. Grades on perimeter sites vary widely, from almost flat to quite steep. Flat ones often have picnic table and fire pit a little downhill and with a beautiful view. It's probably best to see one of these sites that you want to reserve before doing so, as the descriptions on the reservation site of the pad steepness are not too accurate. We camped at Versailles State Park in a Tent Trailer.

Stayed for 4 nights while visiting family in the area. Always stay at this park when visiting in this location.

Stayed in "C" loop. The restrooms were clean, but they are starting to show their age. Don't like the gang shower, but there is a single available.

This is a pretty park which is well maintained. New picnic tables at our site. Fire wood is available from the campground host. We didn't buy wood therefore I don't know the cost. Hiking trails are close to the campground. There is a lake for kayaks or canoes. Camp store is close to the lake. Saw lots of horse trailers, and they can use trails designed for the horses.

I'm not used to paying an entrance fee to the park, and it's in addition to the camping fee. $9.00 entrance fee for out of state people.

Versailles is close if groceries or other supplies are needed. We camped at Versailles State Park in a Tent Trailer.

Only visited A loop, but would not recommend that section for motorhome or trailers. Very tight narrow road with trees. Sites looked very small and difficult to back into. We camped at Versailles State Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a nice park with all sites paved and all roads paved as well. Again, be aware most Indiana state parks don’t have water or sewer available at the sites, and this one was no exception. However, there are plenty of water filling stations throughout the park. Real negative about this park is the dump stations. They have only one station with two pipes. You will wait a while on a Sunday with only having one station. They really need to add more. We stayed in the B loop site 116. Nice site tucked into the woods. They are attempting to grow grass on this site, and had hay down. This is probably a hard task with all of the tree cover and constant foot traffic in and around the site. Stay away from Loop A if you have a larger rig (20+ft) as it is super tight and all the perimeter sites are best suited for pop ups. The interior sites are not quite as shady, but still have big trees. The C loop has some nice sites, but be aware that many of those perimeter sites have a large sloping driveway and would be difficult for a larger trailer to get level. I believe the tongue of the trailer would be on the ground and the back of the trailer a good 3-4 ft high in the rear. It was a holiday weekend so it was very busy, but not overwhelming. The bathhouses are older, but seem to be cleaned a few times a day. The pool is nice. They have a huge lake and multiple playgrounds in and around the park. We will stay here again I am sure, just wishing the state would pony up and install water at all of the sites. AT&T wireless has 5 bars and Verizon has 3 bars. Beware that some of the sites will not have access to the southern sky due to trees. Site 166, however, faced Southwest and made it easy to find Directv satellites. One more thing, they charge $7.00 to enter the park, not included in your paid camping fees, and the pool is $3.00 per day to use it as well. The pool is a good 5 min drive from the campground. This park has very shady sites as well as some that are out in a field. Unfortunately, the shady sites that we liked are very low compared to the surrounding ground and fill up with water during a heavy rain and thus stay muddy. We stayed in the B loop and enjoyed our stay minus the mud. The A campground is super tight on all the perimeter sites and are best suited for pop ups. The interior sites are not quite as shady, but still have big trees. C loop was not really that appealing to us. Too much out in the open. This place was full to the gills and had kids and adults on bikes all over the place, so much so it was hard for my four year old to even try to ride his little bike. That's not necessarily a bad thing I guess, but if you don't have kids you may not like this. No water at each site either, but random hookups throughout are conveniently located. We would return but not until the summer crowd is gone. The lake and surrounding area is beautiful We camped at Versailles State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Great park with nice campground. 3 different loops, A, B and C. A-Loop is the older and original campground with smaller sites, a little more hilly, and mostly wooded. Great for tent campers and small travel trailers or pop-ups. B&C-Loops are newer, mostly level, and not as wooded/shaded. Sites here are bigger though. Good hiking trails in the park and in the summer time there is a nice pool with water slide and high dive boards. Only thing missing here are water hook-ups at each of the sites, other than that we love this park and campground. We camped at Versailles State Park in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here overnight and really enjoyed this park. You need to have your own source of water as the only hookup is for electric. There are several campgrounds pretty much in "pods", so you can select a variety of sites from flat and open to hills and trees. We definitely plan on staying there again. A nice campground with spots well spaced. Great bike trails and hiking trails along with a nice lake. Would prefer water and sewer sites, but overall very nice. Only downfall is paying $7 to get into the park and then paying for your nightly camping rate also. We camped at Versailles State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Campground is very clean and well laid out. The draw backs to this campground are: 1) $7 entry to the park, 2) Park ranger will come around at 10:30 to 11:00 pm and tell everyone he's had complaints on you being loud and this is you're last warning. Just over managing to me: I was camping with my wife and 1 other couple, how loud can we be? We camped at Versailles State Park in a Travel Trailer.
