Rating: 9 8 5 10 7 Clean Restrooms: Clean Showers: A nice campground. Decent gravel roads for easy navigation. Our site was a grassy site, #21P. Sites have different widths depending which area you are in. Ours was very wide and deep. We had a picnic table and fire ring. There is a new pool and a very nice mini golf course. Staff was very friendly and efficient. Main building restrooms/showers were recently remodeled and very nice. They were starting work on one of the other bath house by cleaning and painting the exterior. Person I spoke with was they hoped to complete the entire project in the coming months. If the bath house that was being worked on turns out like the other, I would give it a "10" rating. We were originally set for site 22P, but there was a rather large and deep mud hole at the entry to it. (30,000# RV would have gotten stuck!) A quick call to the front desk and we were quickly allowed to move to site 21P which was dry and firm. There is plenty to do in the area. We would stay here again. We camped at Pla-Mor Campground, Inc. in a 40' Motorhome. - BennieH
This is a nice campground. Nice wide gravel roads for easy navigation. Our site was grassy with some gravel for parking and trees for shade. Sites were a little close, but adequate. We had a picnic table and fire ring. There is a pool (which was closed for the season when we stayed) and a very nice mini golf course. Staff was friendly and efficient. All the staff we encountered were teenagers though they were polite for the most part. We stayed at their campground for 20 nights while they were doing repair work on the motorhome, at no cost. It was a great location to see Elkhart and the surrounding area. And if you are looking for motorhome repair work, they are very helpful and did a great job. The facility is just an asphalt lot, but it has everything you need to be comfortable. Because it was the day before the 4th of July there was no one in the office to pay, so I called their emergency number and was told welcome and just put a check under the door. Just a gravel parking lot with level pull throughs and good 50amp electric. Would say there again for a stop over. - rhianna

Rating: 10 9 9 7 7 Clean Restrooms: Clean Showers: We arrived early for the FROG Rally and were assigned a spot in the fenced field area near the vendor buildings. Units were placed close together but enough room for slides and awnings. Temporary power and water lines laid out for the rally worked fine. Restrooms and showers were kept clean. Interior roads in the actual campground are paved and easy to navigate. There are FHU sites available but also dump stations. The fairground staff and those running the rally did an excellent job. This is a good location to explore the Amish country and visit the rv manufacturers. Nightly rate shown was for early arrival. We would stay here again. - 21fbrs
Here once again for the annual FROG Rally. Fantastic grounds well cared for. Regular and temp hook ups for the rally but all worked fine. Very good place to hold RV rallies and the fairground staff is one of the best anywhere. - DBLR

We wound up here when another campground where we had reservations was not suitable for a rig our size - even though I had called to make sure we would fit! Glad we knew about the fairgrounds so we had a place to stay. The rate reflects one week at $198 and 3 days at $33. There's tax on top of that. Go in gate 2, it's the one with the BIG sign. It leads past the office, where you can self-register IF they're closed. There's a TV scrolling through your options that has instructions and site sizes, and they have maps and brochures inside the foyer. The campground area in the northwest corner near the office has paved roads and gravel sites with 50-amp FHU. It was being used by a rally, so we went straight down the entry road, Locust, to the south section. There were only a few rigs down there so we were able to pull through into our site. They're all on grass with gravel roads between and have 50-amp FHU. The bathrooms closest to us with showers were the ones in the Home & Family Arts building, and they were spotless, although the women's shower doors didn't have locks on them. They had glass door showers so the water stayed IN the shower and you had a dry place to dress. Nice (and rare, it seems). We got several OTA TV stations, and Verizon and AT&T were good. Sites are very close, but sparsely populated when we were there so it felt spacious. There are a few picnic tables if you can get one in that section - perhaps you can request one, we didn't. Trains run constantly, be aware. Several dump stations on the grounds if you need one. It's a great place to stay if you're in the area for service. - Denise and Glenn

The sites are grass with a fair amount of spacing in between sites. The electric and water pressure were fine. My Verizon cell and MiFi worked fine. I could not get a satellite signal because of a tree. Some sites have some shade. The location is convenient to South Bend and Elkhart. With so few choices for campgrounds in the area this wasn't too bad. We would stay here again. - Tiffinatic

Grass was not mowed which led to so many bugs that we couldn't even sit outside. The hookups were hidden behind tall tall grass. The bathrooms were atrocious. Just think of the worst bathroom you've ever been in and double that. We paid for 2 nights but stayed 1 & went back home next day. I'm not sure how they can possibly call this "resort" camping. Lake of the Woods was across the street so with a LOT of money this place could be nice. Would never come back. - Tami Strz

This is over 90% perm sites and most of what is on their website is not available. We booked FHU's and paid for them only to find all we had was EW and sewer service was available. There is a beach on a nice lake. Bathroom/showers were in a shed and was filthy. A toilet was missing, paper all over and garbage in the showers. No designated fire rings, so sites were a mess. Some tender loving care and this would be nice. - cfamrace49

There many trails to walk and there is a big state park down the road with even more to do. Great shopping and food ten minutes away. - RV State Trekking
Our site was quite nice at this campground, but our overall impression was not as good. The setting is fairly nice with heavily wooded areas surrounding the sites and grass between. Some sites shared utility poles, which we never like, but ours was on the end so we had a large open area facing the road. The only landscaping was around the store (which was never open). The pool was cast cement with large chunks missing around the water line, it really needed cleaning and the pool deck smelled bad next to it. The bathroom & showers were nice but very dirty. They advertise a "pickle ball" court but it was just a net strung over a grassy area. In general they do very poor maintenance. Our Dish satellite worked fine. They offer free Wifi but it didn't work well. One positive note....it's very quiet. - Hands For Him

They rent to many workers who leave early in the morning and wake you up, there are people with big dogs, who bark all the time (owners don't stop it) they will say they don't hear that. They have many weekend people who rent all year long who drive by making dust so you cannot enjoy your outside when outside, unless you like dust. The owners don't care about the people who rent, just the money they can make. If you leave early, don't expect any refund, even though they Never said that when you book.
We didn't use the restrooms, so can't say how they are. The lighting at night is fair, the hook up's are all the way in the back of the lot, weeds were growing around them, could be hard to hook up.
Good luck if you go to this park, we will NEVER be back, and we tell everyone we meet to stay away, and go some where else. - Edsan -

View more reviews and a full list of amenities for Elkhart Campground »This is campground that is easy to get to from all major roads. The roads leading in are wide, paved and in good condition. Customer service was excellent. The roads in the park are a mix of paved and gravel, both in good condition. There are no overhanging trees. The campground in my opinion is made up of two very distinct sections. In the front there is a lot of green grass and all kinds of shade trees. This section appears to be for long time stays. Further in the back where we were put there is little grass and hardly any shade trees. It appears that the short timers are put back here. Back here there is some noise from the Interstate which is within sight. They are also putting in new sites in this section so during the day there was construction noise, dust and dirt. Our site was a pull-through with ample room for the car behind. It was hard packed gravel, level but with no shade. All utilities were convenient to the wet bay. All pets were observed on a leash. OTA channels were adequate. Our DISH antenna was easily able to pick up a signal on the western arch. Verizon cell and MiFi were excellent. There was a laundry room with several machines. It was one of the most expensive we had encountered in a campground. We would stay here again but would choose our site more carefully. - William T

Driving through the campground, as well as situating on our site required care because of the trees, but they weren't a serious problem for us. (The people next to us did need to unhook to maneuver around trees when leaving.) Our site was long and level. The price seemed a little high even without adding the extra for our family staying overnight with us a couple of nights. - lce3
Nice wooded park. Several slots have tight entrance or exits. Large pine trees at entrance to site caused some back and forth work to get in. Staff helpful. Cars parked oddly in sites made it harder in to site. - lefield

If you had a map with you, you could navigate the walking trails. They could use more signs. The paved biking trail was amazing! Great scenery and nice wide trail. Benches along the way. Beautiful scenery. Lake is beautiful and offers fishing, boating, swimming, bird watching. There was a dog that barked during the entire day. There should be a rule about continuously barking dogs. - Robo camper
The entrance is about 6 miles from US 31. I had to pay a one time fee of $9 to enter the park since I wasn't an Indiana resident. From the entrance booth you have to travel about 3 1/2 miles on a rough road (my guess is it was once concrete with the strips before it was paved) to get to the campround. I arrived on a Saturday afternoon and it was full; lots of walkers, kids and bikes. It was kind of tight backing into the wide site as I tried to stay out of the muddy area by the post. The site itself was stabilized and wide enough. After a rain the area all around the motorhome was soggy. It is a ways to anywhere unless you are a nature lover. - mrracechaser

Sites are roomy but others nearby, but the neighbors were quiet and the park was not busy. Park ranger helpful. Sites are flat, roads are wide open, and backing into the site is a breeze. This is a multi-generation family run campground. We come here for a week every year for the last 3 years. We love this campground as it has all the amenities for the kids and everyone is extremely nice. From the Pool, spray park, playground, beach... There is always something to do and we enjoy it a lot. The first year, I was sick and had to call an ambulance. My husband has dementia and the owners were just wonderful until I could make arrangements for his care. I stayed again this year and we enjoyed our stay. Everyone seems very helpful. We rented a car and it was very easy pickup and dropoff. There are annual campers, but that did not hurt our stay. We took walks in evening and everyone near us were talkative and friendly. I plan on staying here every year for my reunion and other times. - jsturd
