This is a nice campground. Nice wide gravel roads for easy navigation. Our site was grassy with some gravel for parking and trees for shade. Sites were a little close, but adequate. We had a picnic table and fire ring. There is a pool (which was closed for the season when we stayed) and a very nice mini golf course. Staff was friendly and efficient. There is plenty to do in the area. We would stay here again. - MrsBowman

The park evidently has some drainage issues. We were there after a rain that left a lot of standing water. All the staff we encountered were teenagers though they were polite for the most part. The pool was really nice, and the campground store included a snack bar with ice cream and some sandwiches fixed on site. - Lane Wise
Aug 2018 - $35.00
My family has stayed at this campground many, many times over the years. This year the campground opened up a brand new pool. Our grandkids loved it. Always meet nice people and never have had any bad experiences. Highly recommend this campground for families and retirees (like us).
This campground is nearby to Nappanee. It's interesting to be a part of the Amish culture. Great downtown area, restaurants, antique stores, etc. Dont forget to visit Coppes Commons. They have a restaurant, they sell food, antique shop and much more! - Ladydi1952

Made an appointment to have my RV worked on and was told that the campground is closed. The property owner has sold it off. They have a parking lot that can be used by people with an appointment but they no longer have a campground. - BobWW
Jul 2013 - $1.00
We stayed at their campground for 20 nights while they were doing repair work on the motorhome, at no cost. It was a great location to see Elkhart and the surrounding area. And if you are looking for motorhome repair work, they are very helpful and did a great job. The facility is just an asphalt lot, but it has everything you need to be comfortable. We would definitely stay here again if in the area. - Sally Chew
Jul 2012 - $25.00
We were looking for a site as close to I90 as possible and saw this place on RVReview. Because it was the day before the 4th of July there was no one in the office to pay, so I called their emergency number and was told welcome and just put a check under the door. Just a gravel parking lot with level pull throughs and good 50amp electric. Would say there again for a stop over. - rhianna

This is an extensive fairgrounds area. Our campsite was simply an open grass field with water and power poles. Staff were friendly. Our water faucet stem had such a leak it would have flooded our site if left on overnight so we turned it off. The 50 amp plug was defective but the 30amp worked. Our site was almost level. Fairgrounds interesting to walk around. Close to Lippert and most RV companies so this park is convenient as a utility type RV stop. - rudyhehn
Aug 2018 - $25.00
We stayed here during an RV Rally and were in the infield of the race track, not a regular site. We had water and electricity, but other sites had sewer. The grounds here are landscaped beautifully. Flies were a problem since a fairground is host to animals at times. - Lane Wise
Aug 2018 - $30.00
We stay here very year for the FROG Rally. great staff and the grounds are very well kept. They have a traditional camping section but also fairgrounds type camping, this year we had over 600 units attend this rally and parking was great and everyone seemed pleased. - DBLR

St. Joseph County Fairgrounds has approximately 30 RV sites available on their property for rent out when there is no large event scheduled at the fairgrounds. The sites are grass with a fair amount of spacing in between sites. The electric and water pressure were fine. My Verizon cell and MiFi worked fine. I could not get a satellite signal because of a tree. Some sites have some shade. The location is convenient to South Bend and Elkhart. With so few choices for campgrounds in the area this wasn't too bad. We would stay here again. - Tiffinatic

Let me start off by saying these were very nice people but nice did outweigh the trashy park this was. Grass was not mowed which led to so many bugs that we couldn't even sit outside. The hookups were hidden behind tall tall grass. The bathrooms were atrocious. Just think of the worst bathroom you've ever been in and double that. We paid for 2 nights but stayed 1 & went back home next day. I'm not sure how they can possibly call this "resort" camping. Lake of the Woods was across the street so with a LOT of money this place could be nice. Would never come back. - Tami Strz
Aug 2013 - $28.00
Our kids and us camped here in a MH and 2 TT's. This is over 90% perm sites and most of what is on their website is not available. We booked FHU's and paid for them only to find all we had was EW and sewer service was available. There is a beach on a nice lake. Bathroom/showers were in a shed and was filthy. A toilet was missing, paper all over and garbage in the showers. No designated fire rings, so sites were a mess. Some tender loving care and this would be nice. - cfamrace49

Aug 2018 - $39.00
Our site was quite nice at this campground, but our overall impression was not as good. The setting is fairly nice with heavily wooded areas surrounding the sites and grass between. Some sites shared utility poles, which we never like, but ours was on the end so we had a large open area facing the road. The only landscaping was around the store (which was never open). The pool was cast cement with large chunks missing around the water line, it really needed cleaning and the pool deck smelled bad next to it. The bathroom & showers were nice but very dirty. They advertise a "pickle ball" court but it was just a net strung over a grassy area. In general they do very poor maintenance. Our Dish satellite worked fine. They offer free Wifi but it didn't work well. One positive note....it's very quiet. - Hands For Him
Jul 2018 - $43.00
The park has NO OFFICE to go to with problems, small lots, DUSTY, too close to each other, you must have to share the area between you and your neighbor which is good for families, but not passer's through the area or staying for a week or two, and very very poor internet service. They rent to many workers who leave early in the morning and wake you up, there are people with big dogs, who bark all the time (owners don't stop it) they will say they don't hear that. They have many weekend people who rent all year long who drive by making dust so you cannot enjoy your outside when outside, unless you like dust. The owners don't care about the people who rent, just the money they can make. If you leave early, don't expect any refund, even though they Never said that when you book.
We didn't use the restrooms, so can't say how they are. The lighting at night is fair, the hook up's are all the way in the back of the lot, weeds were growing around them, could be hard to hook up.
Good luck if you go to this park, we will NEVER be back, and we tell everyone we meet to stay away, and go some where else. - Edsan
Jul 2018 - $43.00
This is a family friendly campground that has a large pool filled with happy screaming kids. The kids were having fun driving golf carts all around the campground. Some of the sites are "buddy" sites whereas you share your "yard" with a your next door neighbor which is nice for families and friends to camp together. The interior roads are mostly dirt which makes the camper dusty. The showers had no water when we tried to take a shower, so we didn't try that again. They have WiFi, but we had no WiFi at our site. The campground was full which is probably why our site had broken plastic ware, cigarette butts and general garbage. In the fire pit there were melted soda bottles. We most likely would find a different place to stay next time we find ourselves in the area. - Travelindog

Oct 2018 - $43.00
We stayed for a few days on our way through the area in a 50 amp FHU site. It is a large campground with wide, easy-to-maneuver roads, and long pull-through sites to handle big rigs. Our pull-through site was plenty long enough for our 40 ft 5th wheel and truck. Wifi was good. The pool was closed for the season but looked clean and well-kept, as were the grounds and campsites. Staff were all friendly and helpful. We would return if in the area again. - Wayne60
Sep 2018 - $46.00
One night stay. Nice large fence dog park that our pup really enjoyed. Cable provided many channels but WiFi was weak. T-Mobile HotSpot allowed the WiFi slowness to be overcome Site was nearly level. - tfemaker
Sep 2018 - $40.00
We stopped here because we wanted to go to the RV museum. It was OK. We just happened to be there when they were adding some kind of white sand/rock/I don't know what to call it mix to the roads which was very dusty. We keep a clean rig and don't like dusty places. We did ask for and received a refund for one night because we didn't want to stay for the three nights we paid for and we appreciated that. Wifi was slow - I used my Verizon hotspot. Some of the cable channels came in dark. Very large and grassy dog park but no shade in it. Sites are gravel and grass and some have shade and some don't. Hook-ups were fine. Didn't even look at the facilities so can't comment on those. - thekites

Oct 2018 - $51.00
Stayed here for a few days while my truck was serviced at a local dealer. Staff was excellence and friendly. Always pleasant and helpful. Sites were clean and well organized. While the sites were not spaced a great distance apart the space was very well used and made for pleasant camping. Campground was only about one third full while we were there I believe even if full the space would be adequate. Laundry on premises was handy as we had been traveling for a week. Roads were fairly well maintained and wide enough that maneuvering my fifth wheel was not a problem. There is a nearby train track that is somewhat busy during the day but traffic stops at night. We will keep this campground in mind and will likely return. - BluesmanG
Aug 2018 - $50.00
Almost all sites are pull through, long and level. Shady. There are a couple of back-ins and they are pretty unlevel and small. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Camp store is well stocked. Close to shopping and restaurants. Nice pool and laundry. Showers are private stalls and very clean. Bathroom VERY clean. Great place to stop for 1 night while travelling. - Jan Orlando
Aug 2018 - $65.00
Very long level sites with hook ups just right. Good cable and Wi-Fi. Did not use bathrooms and showers. Staff was very helpful and pool was nice. Just a little pricy for an overnighter. Would look somewhere else if in area. - Biggyrat

GPS took us miles out of our way. There are only 3 pullthroughs..and that loop was closed off. Sites were uneven, and short in the loop left open. Water and Electric in Dec. Okay for an overnight stay, as the park is quiet...but is not that easily accessible. - Rusty Quilter
Oct 2018 - $25.00
We stayed one night while passing through the area. Didn't unhitch. The pads were excellent, level, clean and spacious. There were lots of trees and greenways. I would stay here multiple days if visiting the area. If it had water and sewer it would be a 10-star. - Alan Cockrell

I travel from Minnesota and stay here every year while I go to my family reunion. The first year, I was sick and had to call an ambulance. My husband has dementia and the owners were just wonderful until I could make arrangements for his care. I stayed again this year and we enjoyed our stay. Everyone seems very helpful. We rented a car and it was very easy pickup and dropoff. There are annual campers, but that did not hurt our stay. We took walks in evening and everyone near us were talkative and friendly. I plan on staying here every year for my reunion and other times. - jsturd
Apr 2018 - $38.00
We stayed 4 nights. Sites were close together. Roads very narrow. We have a 40', 13'6" high motorhome. It felt tight to us, although we fit fine. Water pressure was low. Wifi was fine. The lake is nice. Lots of weekend campers go there. Good location for visiting the heritage trail locations of northwest Indiana. - ianschneiderman
Sep 2015 - $30.00
The site we were on had a nice view of the lake. It was very quiet, but you can hear the traffic on the highway. We would stay there again. - geode
