11 RV Parks near Adair, Iowa
Aug 2019 - $17.00
Beautiful park and city; not many hook up spaces I counted 7 and two with water and electric. 50 and 30 amps. Separate dump station. Quiet except around 10 am when children came to play but they were funny to watch. Neighborhood cat roamed around very friendly and dog smart. Easy honor system payment with envelops on the door by restrooms. Restrooms and shower need a good cleaning. Good Verizon signal. Shady parking. - DeanaB
Jul 2019 - $15.00
For a city park, this campground accommodated my needs. Each site offered power of your choice, 110/30amp/50amp. Water needed to be shared and a long hose is required to fill up. The dump station is located beside the bathrooms. Two playgrounds, lots of shade trees, picnic tables, and stationary grills are provided. - RoamingRavenRV
Aug 2016 - $15.00
This is a first come, first serve campground located in the city park. It's a nice, quiet area. The posts all had 20, 30, and 50 amp electrical outlets. Water pumps were available approximately every 3-4 campsites, so a 50 foot water hose would easily reach for anyone needing to fill up. There is an available dump station.
The park was clean, and it had a nice selection of playground equipment. We did not use the showers, but we did take a look in the bathrooms to see what was available. It was your typical park showerhouse/bathroom with painted block walls and concrete floors. The women's was clean, but my husband said the men's could have used some cleaning. A dump station is also available.
The sites were nice & level, but they are pea gravel, so it made chocking the wheels a bit difficult. The chocks just wanted to move around.
Also, they sit right on the street, although it's not a busy street by any means since it's such a small town.
When choosing review options, I chose the sites to be "just long enough for my RV and tow vehicle," but in reality it was just long enough for our 40 foot 5th wheel. We did disconnect the truck and park it off to the side. Overall, it was a nice little spot, and we will definitely return again in the future as we travel through the area. - rcrka
Jul 2019 - $19.00
WOW, what a great campground! Sites were a little close but there was plenty of green space between each row. Everything was well kept. The camp host and ranger were very nice and the Friends of Lake Anita group deserve a round of applause for what they do there. Wish we would have had more time to explore the lake area and take the walk to Anita. - Travlin Mill3rs
Jun 2019 - $19.00
Nice park! Has a paved trail which circles the lake. Also had various games and activities you can borrow for free. Sites close lake our electric only, sites away from the lake have full hookups. - Frogmaner
Sep 2018 - $21.00
Not a big rig friendly park. There are just about six spots that you can try and back a big rig into. The problem is that road is the width of your rig with no ability to swing and follow the trailer in. They are on tiered bluffs that quickly leave your tow vehicle over the edge on soft grass. Big mud pit when it rains. Gravel just turns to soggy cement. Cross this off our list. - Mleeder
Sep 2016 - $17.00
We pretty much had our pick of spots... Only 3 campers including us at this secluded gem! Connection to power and water was not close and at this time our 50' hose was not long enough. Beautiful lake view with clean bathroom. Only reason I didn't give this campsite a 10 is because there is absolutely NO reception for cell phones or electronic devices unless you purchase a local tracker phone. But that could be a positive also! - Murray Mathew
Oct 2014 - $20.00
Great county park. Some sites have sewer and some 50 amp. Some sites a little on the short side for a 40' rig but most will handle a big rig. Limiting factor on the sewer sites is the sewer connection is in the center at the back of the site. Other than that, this is a great little park. Campground manager very nice. On a small lake with a separate beach. Verizon works good, and some sites are satellite friendly. If you come from the east on Littlefield Rd - do not turn by the park office sign. You will end up in the managers back yard. Go another 1/4 mile and turn is on the left. Several small towns nearby for shopping. Registration is on the honor system. - SouthernNights
Oct 2016 - $15.00
Beautiful county park, our campsite was on a raised gravel bed with a big fire ring and nice picnic table. Was also beautifully shaded and near a clear rushing River. Electric only, we were in a motorhome. - Hamilhome
Sep 2015 - $15.00
Spacious, wooded county park 35 miles W of Des Moines and 6 miles N of Stuart (I-80 exit 93). Gravel roads and pads, back in sites looked like 30 feet or so. Next to the Raccoon River, with canoeing access advertised (River looked pretty fast to me). Also walking trails. Very peaceful and pretty. - Creigh Gordon
Jun 2019 - $19.00
This could be a wonderful facility with just a little more attention to upkeep. It is adjacent to an abandoned rock quarry so there is fishing available in three abandoned quarry pits. Swimming is not allowed. The pits are encircled with walking/bike paths. Given the rainfall that has been experienced this spring, it is understandable that the grass has not been mowed as often as necessary. The camping pads are spacious and when they were initially formed very nicely defined. They are still nice and level but the vegetation has been allowed to grow on the gravel making them obscure and less defined. I would recommend it for an extended or short stay as the town has much to offer. Lots of small shops, restaurants, and city parks with the typical recreational activities. - Dean Erickson
Apr 2017 - $15.00
We were looking for an interesting place to stay in the general area to break up a long drive. We're self contained and don't use the facilities except for an occasional shower. We visited in April. This is a nice small campground. The fee is $15 per night. There are 40 relatively small, flat sites with full hook ups. Most are partially shaded. There's a small bath house with hot shower. There's no wifi. Verizon cell coverage was ok. There is no ATT coverage. - dsvt
Jun 2019 - $15.00
If your expectations are for a pristine campground, this is not the place for you. If you are expecting a camping facility that provides water and electricity and a place to spend the night then this is the place. This is the fairgrounds campground and is not maintained like a commercial campground. The grass is not cut as often as commercial venues are but they did mow it while we were there. We often stay here while visiting relatives in the area. I have never found the place littered with trash like another review commented. It is closed during the county fair to accommodate fair participants. There is a swimming pool and city park within walking distance. We have never had an issue with rowdy neighbors, in fact, typically there is probably only two or three units in the campground at any time. I would highly recommend this for an overnight or weekly stay as Atlantic is a pleasant and clean town to visit. There is a nice selection of restaurants and retail stores as well as the antique shops. - Dean Erickson
Jul 2015 - $15.00
I'm not sure where the other camper stayed who posted that review. We got here around sunset. The entire CG was a sea of mud, I had to shift into 4WD to move thru the CG. We searched in vain for a site that had all three utilities working: water, sewer, power but never found one. We thought we had one but the water faucet turned out to be non-functional. The place was littered with trash and was completely neglected. Right now I'd have to rate this cg as the worse I've seen in recent memory. - agesilaus
Jun 2015 - $15.00
Nice shady CG with electric hookups. Water source close by. This is actually right next to the Cass County Fairgrounds so it can be busy depending on activities at the Fairgrounds. All grass sites, no ID numbers on the electric posts. There were a few trailers in need of repair that seemed to be permanently parked in the CG. No problems though; Restrooms were adequate. The park is located in town so everything you need is close by. Went to the library for free Internet but had decent service at the CG. Would camp here again when in the area. - katinfoco
Aug 2008 - $16.00
Only lack of on-site water connection keeps this from the highest rating. In wooded area about 8 miles NE of Guthrie Center and 6 miles west of Yale where we came to bicycle the Raccoon River Valley Rail Trail. Appears park gets heavy weekend use from families, but suspect the middle of week would be empty. Park features trails, wildlife, and a 17 acre artificial lake with beach area and boat ramp. All sites are fairly level gravel, have tables and fire rings with grills. Park is well cared for lots of green grass and trees. This was an unexpected delightful find and we would most definitely return. - tillie
Aug 2017 - $22.00
Under 10 sites. Neat as a pin, quiet. Laundromat, gas station, restaurant on site with reasonably priced and good food. Close to freeway. A great place to stay if just passing thru. We would stay again!! - jano55
Aug 2011 - $20.00
Five miles East of I-80. Grassy sites with full hook ups including cable TV. Close to Danish Windmill and restaurant with great food. Area is a Danish community with a museum and other points of interest to see. Showers and laundry room available at the Village Station store where you check in. For the price, and the food, we will stay there again. - JAMM
Jun 2017 - $20.00
This little park was a pleasant surprise. We were traveling cross country, but decided to take an extra rest day here. It is several miles off I-80, but worth the trip. The last mile is down a well-maintained gravel road. There is a nearby lake and room to roam. It is extremely peaceful and a great respite from the usual "campgrounds" you find along the interstates. - Camping Granny
Aug 2016 - $21.00
I loved this place! The owner was super cool, it was exactly what we were looking for...zacardias, lightening bugs, full moon, friendly peeps, and quiet, lovely and Awesome!! - Deb Kytle
Jul 2008 - $16.00
Way off the interstate, poorly marked, no one at the check in station. Note on drop box not to use because someone is stealing the money! We were dead tired, got set up and ready for bed, when there was a knock on the door and the attendant wanted their money. Luckily we stayed only one night (well 4 hours). Would not stay here again. - BIGBUBBA1959
