This is a park in the city run by the honor system. No reservations just show up pay and put site number on envelope. They collect each day. The sites are mostly in a grassy field or with some gravel under the trees. Big rigs can enter half the campground with no problem but navigating the whole campground is not possible. I have camped here in a 42 foot and 34 foot class a. The bath house is really dark and not very updated and is somewhat dirty. I used my coaches facilities. In fact I would rate the bathhouse a 1 on a 1 to 10 scale. The rest of the park is a 6. The grassy field can get pretty soft if it rains a lot. There is a nice pond and veterans memorial at the park. It is the only game in town and many times road crews and construction people will camp there for extended times. - John S.

Big place so bring a bicycle or drive there. It's quite a ways from the swimming beach to the campsites. You can tent camp closer to the beach / fishing pond but RV pads are farther. Two nice playgrounds for kids. Overall it's a nice place, we would go back. - iowasparrow

If you come through the main drag of Correctionville, you will need to do a 1/2 block jog. This is a correction in the survey lines and 3 townships meet at this corner. Playground equipment is located near the campground. Four camping cabins are available for rent as well. Approximately 50 non-electrical campsites are located on the west side of the lake with access to modern restrooms and showers. The Union Bridge Trail connects the park to the town of Correctionville with a ten foot wide concrete path that winds through scenic areas and crossing the Little Sioux River with a spectacular bridge. The 10-acre lake has angling opportunities for large-mouth bass, bluegill and channel catfish. Only electric trolling motors, oars and paddles are allowed on all county owned lakes. There is a designated swimming beach area. Hiking trails offer opportunities to explore the marsh, native trees, shrub plantings, native prairies and food plots. - stetwood

Nice county park. Most of the sites have a view of the lake. Nice long trail that goes around the whole lake, take some water, it's quite a hike. My dog kicked up about 40 pheasants on our walk. There are sites with electric only on the top level and electric and water on the lower level as well as tent sites. There was a camp host trailer there but no host was around. Nice swimming beach. The main highway between Ida Grove and Battle Creek was closed so I had to drive around to find the best way to the campground. Would definitely stay here again. - taddyport

Asking for a pull since just overnight, we were told to just pull thru the back in to the other side. Ground looked wet but assumed they knew what the were talking about. I also asked about the distance between the light pole and water raiser. No problem. Well, 2 problems, the water faucet was rubbing the compartment door and the front wheels where about 6" down in the mud. Had to un-hook so we could back out, then go around to back into assigned site. We were afraid to get off the gravel pad (what little there was) so had to have an extension to reach electric which was behind the coach. Not sure I had enough water hose so did not attempt to reach the faucet. After raining all night, a large part of the park was under water the next morning. After following the exit signs (after hooking up tow),we found the gate was locked. Luckily, I noticed it before passing a street that took me back to the office. I would stay again if I needed too but would not go out of the way. Customer service was a little lacking. - goldsp8

Large, level sites border on the east side of Storm Lake. A swimming beach, boat ramp, and dock are part of the campground's amenities. Large cottonwood trees shade some sites. A bike path into town borders the campground. A large city park is on the north side of the campground. We would stay here again. - gbburgess

Nice basic park. We stayed 2 weeks and used it as a base to explore the area. Right across the street from the lake. Long trails to walk along the lake and walk the dog. Wifi only available in certain sites, but the best site is directly behind the shower building. Big grassy site and nice large shade tree. Staff friendly and helpful. - fulltimerjan
Aug 2016 - $20.00
We camped in a tent. Nice site with only one other tent. Great location across from lake and within walking distance of water park. Only problem was we got in after office closed and could not use the bathroom or shower because you need a key card. - george keller

We stayed here for one night on our way to Custer, SD. Pulled in without a reservation and secured a pull-thru site. On-site managers were very helpful. Campground is gated, so that gives some level of extra security. They have cable TV and I did not have a cable with me, the manager found one and let me use it for free. The sites are pretty close together, but we really didn't care for one night. The location is great, right across from a beautiful lake with a paved walking/bike path. Facilities were very clean. We would stay here again. - Dooger54

Make reservations before arriving. Reservations can be made with Kiron City Hall. The campground is right on the all grass ball field with 15amp electricity available at the light poles. There are no sites, just park where you'd like, in somewhat flat area. A single water spigot is available. My Verizon worked here. We might return. - AluminumCloud
