Oct 2006 - $7.00
This is a small, quiet, grass campground located on the edge of town at the County Fairground. Sites are mostly level and water is available from hydrants with a long hose. Would be a 10 if they had a dump station available, but contact the city maintenance and they will allow you to dump in city sewer in town for a small fee. For the price and location, it is a good value and we have stayed there several times while visiting family in area. - Bullrider

A lovely little park in Iowa close to the Missouri border. Lots of trees, a small fishing lake, ponds, and hiking trails. On a Friday night in mid October there were 3 campers here, though I bet it is more popular in the summer. The sites are long, but there are trees that make getting the right angle in a back in or pull through rather challenging. We managed it though, and we were rewarded with a nice patio area, fire pit, and picnic table. The sites were fairly level. Good Verizon cell service, but no broadcast TV available. We didn't put out the satellite for the one night stay. - UTTransplant

Nothing fancy here. Just a quick pull-thru with full hook-ups for $18 - Good Sam discount - regular $20. Easy in and out, and close to I-35, but far enough away to be out of the noise. Good Verizon signal. Cable tv worked well, but there are only 5-6 channels. Supper at the Dinner Bell Cafe near the I-35 junction was good and reasonable. If you are looking for an over-nighter on I-35, stop here. - herbee
Nov 2010 - $18.00
I-35 is a small eleven full hookup site campground located less than one half mile from I-35. The positives are (1) easy off, easy on, (2) friendly owner, (3) clean, (4) fairly level pull-thrus, and (5) inexpensive. The negatives are (1) very narrow sites, (2) some sites rutted, (3) no TV reception (the two cable channels were snow and there was no over-the-air channels), and (4) limited bathrooms. There was at least one long-term resident living in a school bus. It’s a good place to spend the night if you want the basics. - Alamo
Sep 2010 - $18.00
Old run down campground with gravel and grass sites, ours was not level. Nice owner. They don't take credit cards and cable TV is only 2 channels. Not a destination, but fine for an overnight and the price is right. We would not return. - Wandering Wishnies

Nov 2019 - $36.00
Arrived near dark on a VERY cold November to just wash up and sleep. Very pleasant owner (if she WAS the owner??) There were only 3 or 4 other campers there that, I believe, were hunters. I only saw the RV next to us that appeared to have been there a while. The site was pretty even/flat. They're hard ground sites; lots of trees. The electric (ours was 50 amp) was just fine; water faucet could use some attention. They were nearly done renovating the ladies shower/restroom. It's clean, warm and looks like it will be nice. Laundry room had 2 new machines and 2 dryers-didn't check the cost. Again, just stayed to sleep. $36 seems steep to just sleep and wash up, but I don't think it's cheap to keep electric and water and all that up. - Jacky11

Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice open area with games and equipment. Bathroom clean, but poorly marked, gave us a bathroom code, but door left open. No WiFi, though they advertised that it was available. - wentercon

Needed a long pull through site and called ahead to confirm length of site. Turn into park from the north comes immediately as you pass the storage units, like 20 feet past them, so it caught us unawares and we went down another 100 feet and actually came into the park in reverse direction. There are connecting and wide roads that come from the Church parking lot next door and if staying again it would make a much better entrance to the RV park office through that entrance. The park needs some better widening of the swing room for the big rig sites as well as some low hanging tree branches trimmed so I deducted from my rating for that reason. - run2

We camped here with our vintage Airstream for a rally with 13 other Airstreams. The roads into the park are plenty wide and directions were good. The campground had adequate spacing between sites, not generous, but sufficient. The sites were mostly gravel and grass. Leveling was good, just a little adjustment but nothing drastic. Nice paved roads for walking down to the lake that had a couple docks for boats and a fish cleaning station. The sites were shady and kept clean, in fact the whole campground was very clean and well maintained. The shower house was very clean and in some state parks keeping them clean doesn't seem to be a priority but they kept these shower/toilets clean and maintained. Water pressure was good, though you do have to push the button every couple minutes, but no big deal. We stayed here four nights and would stay again. The park is in the southwest corner of Iowa, not far from Missouri. We visited the surrounding towns which had special activites the weekend we were there. Clarinda had a 1940's festival with Big Band music; great steak house there. - JonesAussies
Apr 2012 - $11.00
Very clean big state park. Water is available in each section but not at the site. The water was on when we stayed. The sites are gravel and mostly level. Our site had 50amp but not sure if all do. We were the only campers there for 2 days and it is a big park. We could not get our WiFi to work and there were only 4 PBS channels on the antenna. The Verizon phones worked well. A very nice park and would stay again even though TV and internet wasn't available. - Fulltime 5er
Sep 2011 - $16.00
Great little State Park. Swimming beach. Disc golf. Hiking. Restrooms newer and clean. The non-electric sites, with a few exceptions, are very much "tent only" though save maybe for a fold up tent camper. - User988

Apr 2009 - $20.00
Construction in progress. Long site but the swing room to get into a site was very limited. It will take some planning with a long rig with a toad. I would not drive out of our way to get here, but we were going right by. Directions to park are very limited. Self register, but owner is on site looking out the window. - run2

A nice little park no listed in any travel guide I could find. I happened on the park by an old Google hit from Woodall's (it is no longer listed in Woodall's.) This park is just fine for an overnight stay in an area where RV parks are few and far between. The park seems to be in the owners' front yard, but there is plenty of room for big rigs with tows. The power was "clean" and good water pressure (city water) and there were two sewer hookups at each site (front and rear.) The park is just a couple of blocks south of Hwy 34 on the west side of Creston. We would definitely stay here again for a day or two. - OpaRon
