We stayed here in a tent on Labor day weekend. Park itself is just okay. They have a lot of level sites, but everything is grass. Our campsite was rutted from an RV that either got stuck in the mud, or just sank in. They only have electricity to each camp site, no dumps. The dump site looked like it would be a challenge to get into, if it was at all muddy.
There are a number of campfire rings around, but not one for each campsite. I saw a few picnic table spread around, but again, not one for each camp site.
The worst part of this camp ground is the bathrooms. They do have high iron in the water, but that is no excuse. It has been a long time since I stayed in a park with such terrible bathrooms. They were filthy dirty, and didn't look like they had any attention for quite some time. The bathrooms appeared to not have had any maintenance for a long time, and certainly no upgrades.
I also didn't see any staff around. That being said, I didn't spend much time at the park, so they could have been in later on.
We will not be staying here next year, if there are any other options available. - John316

Let me start out by saying this park does have WiFi, however you have to pay to use. There are 4 sites per electric pole but only room for 2 rigs. Parking is on grass, but fairly level. Dump station a different set-up, it's a pull in and back out. It's not user friendly. Stayed there with a club, as a single unit I would not return. - rving4fun
Jul 2018 - $20.00
We enjoyed the campgrounds. A lot to do for the kids (and adults) including, basketball, tennis, volleyball, baseball and the city pool is right there! Shower house is clean. We also became aquainted with the local chicken, which we named Fred. Amish buggies are common. We got some "Squeaky Cheese" at the cheese factory which was fun. Would return to this campground. It is clean and well kept. Some campsites in the center were kind of close but others on the outer ring were quite spacious with lots of elbow room. - Pilot1769
May 2018 - $20.00
This is a very clean park. Kalona has a great thing going for them. The city had a ball tournament Memorial weekend. We stayed there after it was finished and got a nice site. - 1dinky
May 2017 - $20.00
We visited folks in the area. The sites are end-to-end sites with a back-in requirement if not the first to that lane. Very close to the other sites. Electric 30 amp service was good. A single dump station for the area, which is hard to find. It is located at the corner of the check-in podium. You check-in by filling out a form and putting money in a pole with a slot. Internet is available for a fee through the area provider. No cable. About a dozen air channels available. Good for kids, as it is right in a park. Playground near by. Casey's nearby with the best pizza from any gas station. Very narrow aisles and it will block your ground satellite dishes. Price is right for passing through town. Would stay again. - Redtime21
Aug 2019 - $35.00
We were looking for an overnight or 2 stay near the interstate. Our site was lovely. Level and shaded. The roads are all dirt so it is slow going but all of the trees were well trimmed for our tall motorhome. This is NOT a RV Resort. It is a campground largely populated by seasonals. Having said that, it does not have the feel of a trailer park. It is laid out with little avenues that ascend up a hill. Lots and lots of very mature trees lends a very natural feel. It is a great place for kids. Sandy beach along lake as well as pool. Good playground, basketball, volleyball and horseshoes. Bathrooms clean. Laundry ok. Cool little camp store. There is a lot of highway noise but it is what it is. It is extremely convenient for brief layover. I was pleasantly surprised by the layout and beautiful trees. - Mary Anne 1
Jul 2019 - $48.00
One night stay on a cross country trip. Our site was not very level. We used the laundry it was convenient but did not dry a small load in one cycle. The roads were easy to navigate. Most of the site we saw for short term use were not level... or close to level. There are allot of perm sites. - Slkelley
Jul 2019 - $36.00
We booked our reservation 5 months in advance and that was definitely a benefit to getting the type of site we wanted. Site 44 was long enough for our 43 ft 5th wheel and truck. It was level, on solid gravel, had full hookups and great satellite reception. The road into the site had a few turns and it was narrow and bumpy, but it was not terribly difficult to handle. Our site also had easy access to leave the park. Being near the rear of the park, road noise was not an issue and there was alot of space to walk our dog. There are a lot of long-term people here and the park was at capacity over the weekend. There is plenty enough for families to do and there is easy access to the highway to see the major sites around the area. As the roads are gravel, it can get a bit dusty as trucks and golf carts drive by, but this is a minor issue. Overall we found the park well maintained, the staff friendly, the price is reasonable, the internet works and the site to our liking. We will stay here again when we come through the area. But if you want to be sure to get the site you want, we suggest you reserve it well ahead of time. - Wagging Trails
Jun 2017 - $15.00
We need a stopover point on a trip from St. Louis to Minneapolis and this was perfect. It's just off Highway 218, easy in and out driving through the small town of Hills, IA. Our Verizon phone and mifi worked fine. The campground sits right along the river, and a few people pulled in for fishing in the evening. A couple other transient campers came in and out during our mid-week stay. It's first come first served, and self pay. When I called the number listed a helpful woman told me based on fees they collected that there should be space - and there was. - Roaming Together
Aug 2018 - $20.00
Electricity but no water at the site. Our site was level. Internet was slower but the signal was strong. We received quite a few TV channels. Cell phone service was good. The place was almost empty so that the skies were dark at night. The hiking trails were pretty good with lots and lots of wildflowers everywhere. - J and C
May 2018 - $20.00
Beautiful park. Worked for an overnight stop, but we would have stayed a few days if our trip had allowed. 5 miles off I-80, a mile of park before you reach the campground. Lots of hills for our 38 footer. Sunday night, school in session - lots of sites to choose from. Half the sites are closed for to electrical work. Pull thru and back in sites. Ours was fairly level, some sites are more level than others. Electric at every site, water spigots around park and a dump station. Shower house at entrance, a few pit toilets else where. Walking trails were so inviting. A bit of civilized noise (trains, humans) but mostly bird song. And lots of stars. We are planning a longer stay soon. Might want to drive the loops before you pick a site. - Ramblin Rozee
May 2017 - $20.00
We stayed here for 4 nights while visiting family in the area. The North Loop was closed but the park was not crowded. There are pull-through sites as well as back-in sites. We chose a pull-through near the showers. We did need to use Lynx Levelers under the rear tires in order to get level but that was no big deal. The park is convenient to Coralville and Iowa City. The host was very friendly and welcoming. It is a beautiful park with lots of recreation areas - we viewed the prairie area and it was beautiful, even though it was early Spring. They are restoring the lake and that area was interesting to see. You do hear some highway and train noise but that didn't bother us at all. We would definitely stay here again. - Ravengirl
Aug 2019 - $20.00
This is a hidden surprise. It's in the middle of nowhere Iowa, tucked into a very beautiful lake. The state did a lot of upgrades to the park and the campground about 5 years ago and it shows. All the roads are nicely paved concrete, with very nice paved trails around the lake. Lots of parking, boat ramps and picnic tables for day use. The campsites are gravel, and a bit slanted so it takes some effort to level. There are very few trees around the campsites, so little to no shade. The only downside is there is no AT&T or Verizon at the site (or around the fields of Iowa either). But full hook-ups for $20 a night, and a beautiful lake, it was worth it. We will stay here again next time we come to visit family. - Moo1966
Nov 2018 - $16.00
This looks like a small park, but looks are deceiving! All the roads in the park and most trails are cemented, which is great and very rare. I wish I could say that about the campsites. Almost all of them were gravel and not in great shape. We were fortunate to have #24,one of the few cemented pads. Some campsites have full hookups, some just electricity. Nice small lake with a lot of boat ramps and docks and a beautiful park shelter. They also have some really nice cabins to rent. There are two shower houses with flush toilets that close for the season on November 1st. Beware of the wind as it can blow the aroma of cow manure from the local feed lot. All said, it was a nice stay. - Sugar Pie 1
Sep 2018 - $19.00
The campground consists of paved roads and gravel sites. Sites follow the contour of the land and can be very far from level side to side. Roads and sites are narrow making caution necessary on the long curvy entrance road and sharp turns into the sites. Our pull-through site had a picnic table, fire pit with adjustable cooking grate, and open view of the sky for good satellite reception. There is no AT&T data or phone service in the park or nearby communities. Bathrooms and showers were spacious and clean. - never settled
Apr 2014 - $33.00
ALERT: This campground will be closing permanently on June 1, 2014.
We wish every park had their 4 individual restroom/shower combination. Nice, clean, large, good pressure, etc. Small, quiet, lovely park with great friendly staff. Between Cedar Rapids & Iowa City & lots to do. Hookups were good, roads & grass with trees. We would return. - 1yearusa
Aug 2013 - $32.00
If you want a campground that is excellent this is it. It's not a resort with all the noise just a clean, friendly, quiet campground. - DUKE459
Jul 2013 - $35.00
We stayed overnight in this campground when returning from vacation. I requested and was provided a long pull-through so that I did not have to unhook my camper. Campground was clean and well cared for and the office staff was friendly, making this a good campground for an overnight stay. The campground does have one strange feature : The entry road to the larger sites is before the office making it necessary to back up to make the turn into the road. While it is a straight back-up with longer units your camper will end up backing onto the main road so it is important to watch for traffic (fortunately it is a rural road with little traffic). - Greg and Kim
Jul 2018 - $16.00
Sites are kind laid out weird. Nice lake but quite a distance from campground with limited views. Would have a nice beach if it wasn't covered in goose droppings. Park is in a rural setting a few miles south of I-80. Town is actually called Ladora but not near it. - Bjb1775
May 2013 - $20.00
This is a municipal park and campground that encourages parking in designated sites and throughout the grassy area that makes up the park. There are electrical pedestals scattered around the park. The ones that we looked at were 20 amp only. The park is shaded by mature oak trees, and there are two large group shelters, one with a stage for special events. There are several water hydrants around the park but no dump station. The park appears to be managed through some sort of joint arrangement with the nearby Amana Colonies RV Park & Event Center. There is self registration and no attendant or host on site, at least not while we were there. Sites are first-come, first-served. There are a number of special events throughout the year that reserve the entire park. Something to consider if you want a lower density campground with fewer amenities. During our stay the weather was unusually rainy and several vehicles were stuck in the ensuing mud. - Jammer
Jul 2018 - $10.00
Linder Point Campground has two sections. The full hook-ups have a concrete pad and are all close to the shower house. If you get electric only the sites are gravel (expect to do some leveling) but are about as spacious as it gets in a campground. This campground is not as close to the beach as the West Overlook but is still within walking distance. When we camped here it was very quiet, great shower house and a first rate system of hiking trails. Bicycle trails are right down the road as well. Would definitely camp here again. - Dan Ratcliff
Jun 2017 - $13.00
We stayed at the Linder Point area. Site was long but please watch large limb overhang. If you have a tall unit, as we do, if not very careful it would cause damage. - phyllen
Oct 2016 - $13.00
We had a site in the Linder Point campground. It had a cement pad which was just large enough for our camper and the truck. The hookups were all okay and in the right place. We were right at the entrance but were not bothered by any traffic. Plenty of room for us to sit away from our neighbors. We had several OTA channels and access to our data carrier.
Nice campground but there is a newer one along the river that seems much nicer. Would try and stay there on another visit. - John Borajkiewicz
