We have stayed here several times. Have stayed in old section and new section. Old section the sites are fairly level, electric boxes are 30 AMP can be done but MH is 50 AMPS, have had electrical problems. Lots of trees.
New section has 50/30 AMP and water. Sites seem to slope to front of lots a little to much. There are a lot of young trees and bath house is very nice. They have one handicap site next to bathhouse at top of hill. Sites are terraced down to lake. There are nice walking trails. - User2172

Willow is a county park in Harrison county. It is located approximately 5 miles from Woodbine off of SR30. It is heavily used by locals and especially families. Nice clean laid back park on a small lake with fishing and swimming beach. Newer section lacks shade and is close showers. Park has cabins to rent as well as camping facilities. Park does not have a dump station. City park in Woodbine has dump station that is used by this park's campers. This is a hassle for longer stays. - Rollenhome

Please note: this review is for the Yellow Smoke Park, part of the county park system - I did not see anything specific f0r that park for Denison. The park is very scenic, with a small pond. Quite wooded, so we couldn't get satellite TV, but there were a couple stations we could pull in via the powered antenna. The Verizon signal was weak, but made adequate with a booster. The sites have water and electric (not all), and the water was not close to the site. There is a sewer dump on the way out of the park. Self-register after selecting a site. We would definitely stay here again. - DreamCaptn

Nice small county park with a small lake, fishing, and sand beach. There are 2 RV camping areas. The lower CG has a few good-sized back-ins facing the lake (we stayed in one of these), across from the boat ramp. You continue up the hill to the larger upper CG where most of the sites are, along with the bathrooms, showers and dump station. We were here right when the park opened for the season, CG nearly empty. It was very quiet, except on Sunday when a large group used the picnic area across the road. The county conservation officer/caretaker was very nice and helpful. They were still doing some spring cleanup, but the park was in very good condition. $15 electric sites, $12 non-electric, no reservations. I imagine it gets busy on summer weekends. - JA1800

Loved the park but hated the train . Such an awesome park for the price. The park was clean with water, electric, and a dumpstation. - RVing Across America

Looks like most of park is closed. We are in 45' motorhome towing and we are next to a really old motorhome and old trailer on the road. Yes - we have 50 amp and water so I will give you that. There are also two tents and a rock band warming up. It is just cheap which is the good thing. Most of the park is NOT open and it is June 21. Even on the street there are temporarily closed sites due to police sign. Don't bother to call to find a site. The phone answerer has no idea unless there is "an event" at the park. - Cornerstone 18
Jun 2018 - $15.00
Next to the busiest railroad tracks I have ever tried to sleep near, and many of them do blow their horns. Some sites have 50 amp, some only 30. Some are on grass, others you park along the fence, with hookups just on the other side. You can get water at most of them if your neighbor is willing to share (put a Y on the hydrant). If you need to be in the area, it's a convenient place to park, just bring your earplugs. Also a good value at $15 with hookups (self-pay near the big information sign in the park). Verizon cell and internet worked. - JA1800

This is our 2nd time at Woodland Campground and we are staying a month again! Great people that manage the campground. Friendly people who have permanent sites (we do not)! Nice pool and showers, green lush grass and close enough to grocery shopping and Omaha, NE without the noise and traffic! No problem with power staying on..even on super hot days. Currently updating power to some areas, I believe. There are dump stations but the also have a service that for $10.00 they will come and pump your waste out and dump it! Very clean and efficient! Really enjoy our yearly visit! - Warren Bozarth

This campground is no longer accepting off the road campers, nor is it honoring Passport America. The manager did, however, recommend a campground down the road. - bones1941
May 2011 - $12.00
Gated and nice, but rather tough to pull out due to large trees. We paid $12.50 for a Passport America Rate. Would definitely stay here again. It is a full-timer park but very nice people and owners are very nice. - tbg

Very well kept park. Nice grassy and shaded sites. No problems with my satellite and WiFi was great. Only parked overnight but if plans could have been changed, I would stay longer. Love it. - Gypsygirl2017
Jun 2017 - $13.00
Nothing fancy about this place - the name says it all: it is in the backyard of the owners, with farmland all around. The site was reasonably level, but just grass - if it had been rainy, I could see where it could be soft for a heavy RV. The sign on the door said to pick a site and someone would come around to collect... they didn't, but they do have envelopes so you can self-pay/register. It was adequate for an overnight, and we would stay here again if in the area. - DreamCaptn

Sites are close together and partially grass and gravel. No specific rules on pets and neighbors dog was able to reach our steps. No enforcement of pet cleanup and had to take care in our site. - Msmoonsatx
Aug 2018 - $37.00
#112 full service pull-through $ 37 no discount. This is a basic RV park attached to a motel and very close to I-80 at exit 34. The RV park is an open grass field with no trees. Sites do not have a picnic table or BBQ and are very close together. We arrived early evening and were able to pick a site with no one on either side of us, so it did not feel as crowded. Others appear to have parked their truck or toad in the next site to give themselves some additional space - nobody seems to monitor the place. WiFi is decent with an extender, but I could not connect other devices that did not have an extender, though we were quite a distance from the motel office. Given the deep ruts in the grass, you might want to think twice about parking here if the ground is wet or rain is in the forecast. Okay for an overnight stop along I-80, but no longer than that. - driftdiver1
Jul 2018 - $25.00
A very basic park with no wifi and no cable. This is a field (no trees any place) with a gravel road in the park; some gravel with grass growing in it for parking your rig. Maintenance and grounds upkeep do not appear to be a strong suite for this place, that said, they did mow while we were there. The sites are so close together that two rigs with slideouts on both side would almost touch. The shower-house/rest-room/meeting-room building was clean enough and they did let us use the meeting room for our rally for no charge. Verizon service works OK. When registering, stop at the entrance to the park and walk over to the motel office to register. This is an acceptable place to overnight with full hookups. - Starmaster

This is a small park in a front yard. Full hookup 50 amp, but no amenities. The owners were very nice and were helpful, but the park is overpriced for what you get. Site was flat, we were able to get satellite and Verizon was good. We would not stay here again due to the price. - Deniselg53

Nice small rv park across from the De Soto National Wildlife Refuge. Level sites, friendly people. All sites are back in. They have 5 or 6 really nice shady spots. Nice place for extended stays. - workcamper14

Jun 2019 - $15.00
This county park is about 20 miles east of Council Bluffs 1 mile south of I-80. The park website provides very little useful information for large Class A RVs. The only place to park is in campground 1, where there are 6 pull through sites. Five of the 6 sites were occupied by seasonal campers. Site #4 was available and plenty long for our 40' bus and Chevy P-U. Fortunately the neighbor with whom we shared the power pedestal left the 50 amp service for us. ATT cellular service terrible. Ok OTA channels. - JanW
Jul 2018 - $15.00
Beautiful park. Has a lake for fishing and canoeing. Would definitely go back. - skier1947
Jun 2018 - $15.00
This county run campground is right off I-80. The park-like setting is lovely. The sites are large with plenty of trees. The staff was very friendly. There are no full hook ups, just electricity. We had good internet with our Verizon hot spots. - Tonita

18 spots, all taken. Looks like there are some permanent or semi-permanent campers. Very small, no amenities. OK for locals who can drive over and snag a spot. Do not count on it if you are passing through. Also, there is an underpass with 11 foot clearance. Neither Google maps nor Waze warns you about it. Sorry I wasted my time checking it out. It sounds cute on the web but failed to meet expectations in real life. - GordonsvilleGal
Jun 2018 - $15.00
What a great place for a nice price. This is a rather pretty area with rolling hills. Sites are level with 50 amp service available. Very little shade at any of the sites. Fairly close to Council Bluffs, IA. we stayed here in a 40' motorhome. - illini777
Jul 2016 - $15.00
Very nice park, nice friendly staff. Showers could be better for privacy and no full hook-ups are the only downsides. We would stay again. - Lynn-Donny

May 2016 - $28.00
Our family stayed for 2 nights over Memorial Day weekend. Required to pay for 3 nights. Campsites were spacious and level. The proximity to the river was enjoyable. Campground neighbors were friendly and helpful. Firewood was available and cheap. We were very pleased with our stay and would return.
I noticed signs that said no tents on RV sites. I thought that was weird because we often have a "kids tent" next to our trailer. I noticed a few tents though- so it might not be enforced, but you should probably ask about this if it is an issue for you. - Ladybuggfloyd
Jun 2015 - $16.00
Not much to do in the park. If you're looking for a one nighter or a base of operations, it's okay. Firewood is available but wet and rotten. Last night's first log still sits in the fire ring charred from the charcoal lighter we used to try and get it lit. River is dirty with lots of stuff floating in the water. Standing water everywhere so mosquitoes are truly a nightmare! 8pm and it was like a horror movie as the swarm descended. Can't sit outside even when covered in DEET and a smoldering fire going. I think they take it as a challenge.
Even after saying hello, we were ignored by the hosts.
The pads are level and electricity is close. Only a little shade from storm damaged trees. Grass is certainly still recovering from flooding. It's a somewhat pretty park from the inside of your RV, with spacious sites, but don't expect much for family or other outdoor activities. - SM1969
Sep 2014 - $16.00
Typical state park but restored from flood. Electric only and was first rate. We were the only camper in the first loop. Quiet except for a low background noise from a quarry. Pit toilet. Worth the price for an overnight or even a couple of nights. - gumper
