Jul 2019 - $15.00
Very peaceful during the week. Small town atmosphere but only minimal services available: grocery store, gas station, few eating places, city has a pool during the summer. Sites have water available to fill tanks but not for direct hookup; dumping site in town. Swimming, fishing, small boats and jet skis allowed on lake. No resident on site. - Momma Klino

Stayed here for 8 nights during LDRS, the national amateur rocket launch. This was over the Labor Day weekend. It's a lovely grass camping area with full hookups. I would definitely camp there again. The only issue was that the rest room/shower room wasn't cleaned during the Labor Day weekend while the campground was full (local rodeo etc). For the price I really can't complain much. Interesting that the facing camping spots were opposites so you were facing your neighbor. Makes for more interaction with you neighbors which was fine with us. The broadcast tv is spotty but the wifi is excellent, especially for a town campground. - MTRV

We pulled in for one night stay during a road trip. I called ahead to City Hall to check in while we were still on the road. There are fire rings that we set up to barbecue with charcoal briquettes. There aren't a lot of treed sites available but we were able to land one of them easily since there were very few campers. My morning walk down by the river was a great way to start today :-). Overall it was perfect for us. Peaceful, quiet, easy to access, easy to use and, very, very affordable. - AnnieBMimi

We were delighted to find this little park tucked away in rural Kansas. We were in the area to visit Caldwell, and this was the closest park that we could find. We had the park all to ourselves, and the scenery was beautiful, situated right on the Chikaskia River. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets every night. There were full hookups including 50amp at many of the sites, and the water pressure was very good. The wifi service was good, although the clerk at the City Hall said that they might be turning off the internet due to a lack of campers in the park. Most of the sites had picnic tables and fire rings. There was a large deck area overlooking the river that had picnic tables and grills, which looked like a fun place to have an outing in the summertime. The river itself was a popular place for anglers, and there was usually a car or two in the parking lot. We did not use the bathrooms/showers, but we did take a look inside. They were filthy. It looked like they had not been cleaned in months. It's too bad, considering that the outside grounds were kept groomed. The only other negative is that the clerk at City Hall was not very welcoming. She acted as if we were bothering her when we came in to get the wifi passcode. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay, and we would come back if we are in the area again. - BluegrassTravelers
