Easy in with workamper guide. Lots of big trees but mostly well trimmed. We did have one branch hanging over the retracted satellite but we were only here for one night so we didn't worry about it. They put us in an end pull-thru because of our overall length and we just fit. Serving Ashby's delicious hand-scooped ice cream in the office! We camped at Kansas City West / Lawrence KOA in a Motorhome.

The sites are not difficult to get into and mine was level but they are dirt. Full hookups but this place is really looking down-at-heels. Sites are very close to one another... hope you like to hear the guy next door snore. Hookups all work but are oddly situated as are the picnic tables.... gotta share space with the other guy next door. The one dumpster was overflowing. Grass seed is strewn on top of dry dirt... not likely to grow but will make good mud at the next rain. This is in a populated area so cell service is good. Pet friendly and a decent dog area. WiFi is not good... just an unprotected hot spot. This is yet another one of the many campgrounds that advertise that they have WiFi but, for all practical purposes, they don't. It is possible to connect after several tries but it won't hold. We attempted connection on three different devices with the same result. (No, we don't try to stream.) This looked like a park that was perhaps recently acquired and trying to get up to KOA standards or it's a KOA on its way down. We camped at Kansas City West / Lawrence KOA in a Motorhome.

How much you like this park depends on what you want from your camping experience. The facility is nice for families. Two playgrounds, one with a mini-zip line the kids seem to love. A small but sparkling pool, shuffleboard, rec room, peddle bikes, etc. Bath house is clean, but is very far from the tent areas. There is a large fenced dog area. Most sites are very flat and the electric and water are fine. Employees are very helpful and amenable. The environment leaves me cold. Most of the sites are just wide enough for a picnic table (the narrow way), and rigs are parked back to front so you share your site with your neighbor. It does keep you from sitting next to your neighbor's sewer drain. The interior roads are gravel and talc-like dust. Every time somebody drives by, you are swept with dust if the wind is in the wrong quarter. The tollway is less than a mile away and noisy, and there is a busy railroad somewhere through the shrubbery. There is also a mysterious large ditch of standing water along the west edge of the park. Again, if the wind is from the west, or you are over on that side of the park, you can smell the stank. There are a number of trees large enough to provide true shade. It is fine for an overnight or a day or two. I would never stay here for an extended time, again. We camped at Kansas City West / Lawrence KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Both the car GPS and the Garmin could not find the park effectively. Coming from the north, we had to drive about three quarters of a mile farther down 40 to find the park. The Merc Co+op has great organic foods, and the best bread I could find in town.

Very nice KOA; we especially like the premium patio sites. We were fortunate to meet the owner while we were here and were happy to hear that he plans to build a few more of the VIP sites. Nicely maintained, beautiful trees, lots of grass. We also appreciate that this park is open year-round, something that's hard to find in this part of the country. We'll be back in November for a family wedding and look forward to the possibility of getting a satellite signal since the trees should have dropped their leaves. It's always a trade-off to get a nicely treed, shady site and sacrifice getting a signal, but the park does have limited cable at no cost. Decent little store with most of the necessities; VERY courteous and helpful staff. We camped at Kansas City West / Lawrence KOA in a Motorhome.

Came in late without a reservation. The ladies in the office were very nice and got us a spot. This was a Friday night and they had a lot of activities to include an ice cream social and out door movie. Park was clean and well attended to. Only negative is that the park drives are narrow and the sights are close together. So not very big rig friendly. We have a class b so not a problem for us but there were a few class a's that had a difficult time and hung out into the drive lane. We camped at Kansas City West / Lawrence KOA in a Motorhome.

Will not be stopping here again. The sites were so narrow that if both RVs had slides you could not get more than 5 to 6 feet apart. This would prove extremely dangerous in case of a fire - which does happen. The RV next to us could not reach his sewer connection so used the one for our site. Directions for getting to onto the site were incorrect so we had to go around a couple of times. Office staff were distracted and uninterested. Did not listen to the information they asked for. We camped at Kansas City West / Lawrence KOA in a Truck Camper.

Jellystone is obviously a theme style park - lots of Fred Flintstone theme icons around and the park was getting decked out for Halloween. While the land area is large there's not as many RV sites as you'd think as there's a lot of land dedicated to open play areas, picnic shelter etc. WIFI is fairly good. We didn't have cable at our site so we used satellite which was fine. A nice fenced dog park area is available. The only dumpster we could find was only at the entrance - a bit of a hike but not a big deal. Overall a good park. We camped at Kansas City West / Lawrence KOA in a Travel Trailer.

This was the second Jellystone we have stayed at and wow were we disappointed. Sites were so close together that we could not get slide outs all the way out. There was a 4 ft drop off right next to our door which was the neighbors picnic area and table. Not very kid-friendly. We did not have a picnic table. There was a tiny campfire ring including trash in it. WiFi signal was present but was too slow to use. The play equipment was OK with the exception of the jumping pillow which was not inflated properly so kids couldn't jump on it. After staying in the Branson Jellystone we were very disappointed in this and the whole experience. We camped at Kansas City West / Lawrence KOA in a Travel Trailer.

There are few campgrounds in this area so we usually stay here when passing through. All the Jellystone Parks seem oriented towards families and this one, as usual, has a large playground with a big variety of things for kids to do. It is one of the more expensive places we stay and we wish they had a separate rate for overnighters who have no interest in all the amenities, just need a place to spend the night. We had a full-hook-up, pull-thru site and everything worked well. The staff was friendly and helpful and we were escorted to our site. We found out after we got set up that our site didn't have cable TV but we were able to get several channels off the antenna. We camped at Kansas City West / Lawrence KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

There were not many good choices for campgrounds in this area. Thanks to RV Park Reviews to help us decide. We have stayed at Jellystone Parks in other places so we expected a certain standard.

The campground is somewhat difficult to find because of the Toll gates from the Interstate, but we found it.

It's a little worn and not polished,is the best way to describe it. Roads are gravel as well as camp sites. We had a Premium Pull Thru located on a corner and was very nice.

About half of the park are long term residents and we met a few and enjoyed them.

There are quite a few locals that come in and camp on the weekends so the camp does become full.

We don't use the showers or cable so I have no comment there. The WiFi was good most of the time. In spite of all, we would stay here again. We camped at Kansas City West / Lawrence KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Thank you for your honest review, Larry! We do apologize that our location was difficult to find, but we are happy that you made it to us okay. We're glad you enjoyed your campsite, and were able to meet some of our long term guests and enjoy getting to know them - that's one neat thing about camping is that you always meet new people! All in all, we're happy you had a nice stay, and hope to see you again sometime soon.

We went to the Steamboat Museum in downtown Kansas City. It was an awesome place to visit and I highly recommend if you're in the area. Also there is a big flea market place where the museum is located.

Stayed at this campground because of the kid amenities offered (we had two grandkids staying with us for the week). All activities are hosted by a camp advisor. Such activities as slip and slide, pool, water games (balloons and sponges) with a large sling shot launcher, visit by a fire truck, art activities to make tie dye shirts and colorful spinning art pictures, panning for gems and artifacts at a mining water trough and movie night! Some of the activities are fee-based but most are free.

Our campsite was a longpull-through with full hookups, 30/50 amp service, gravel and grass patio with a fire pit and picnic table. Easy registration, friendly office staff, escorted to our camp site. Sites were long enough to keep my 40' Class A connected to my 18' trailer with room to park my vehicle at the end of the camp site. Plenty of room between camp sites with hookup's centered in the site.

Mote expensive than I would prefer, but the kid amenities were the attraction for me. That way, I didn't have to entertain my grandies 24/7!! The park is secure and staff are kid friendly. My grandies made friends easy as they participated in activities.

I would stay only if I had my grandkids staying with me. We camped at Kansas City West / Lawrence KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Easy access to Lawrence, home of the University of Kansas. As in any college/university town, there are lots of shopping and restaurants available. Don't forget to take a day trip to Fort Leavenworth. It is worth the trip! Non-military can access the fort to visit the museum and other historical sites. When checking into security, you need a valid driver's license, proof of insurance on your vehicle and the registration for that vehicle.

This was a very comfortable overnight stop for us. The lady at check in was friendly and welcoming. She escorted us to our site, which was conveniently located next to the dogpark. Our pull-thru site was long and level. The hookups were convenient. Water pressure was nice. Sites are gravel with grass in between. It rained overnight but there were only a few places around our site that puddled. We didn't use any of the amenities except the dog park. It was nice and big but the grass and weeds inside needed to be trimmed. We would stop here again if in the area. We camped at Kansas City West / Lawrence KOA in a Motorhome.

Gravel pull through site just long enough to accomodate 35' coach and toad. They offer 5 or 6 different site options, 30/50/water/ electric/ sewer each with different rates. Main road was a little muddy with the rain. Grass separation between sites, two picnic tables and two fire pits. Park was arranged so that each rv alternated directions so that doors face each other. Good wifi and electric. There was a pool of water around the water spigot. Big dog park with unique concrete pad at entrance. So many dog parks have a muddy entrance and this concrete pad idea was great. Big leafy trees but we had a site that was not under a tree. Some train noise. Clean bathrooms. Roomy shower stall but dressing area at end was tiny. Used end of shower stall for dressing. Rate was for a water/electric site only with Good Sam discount. We camped at Kansas City West / Lawrence KOA in a Motorhome.
