We needed a place to pull off the highway for just one night. Fossil Creek is located within a mile of I-70 and is easy to get in and out of. We had a pull-through site and it was long enough that we didn't have to unhook our toad. Very level. This is an old park. Grass is cut and hookups all work well, but it's not a pretty place. Sites are part concrete pad and part gravel or dirt. Some sites the concrete is pretty broken up. I used the laundry and it was very clean. $1.50 per load washer and dryer, large capacity. I would camp here again, but probably not for longer than one night. We camped at Fossil Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

Just a one-night stopover on our travels. We are full-timers in a motorhome so we've see a lot of RV parks. This is a run-down trailer park. Our site was pretty much dirt with broken glass and cigarette butts. My husband even found a bullet casing! We were afraid to let our dog out due to the glass everywhere. The permanent residents who are there do not keep up their mobile homes at all! There is trash everywhere around them. I would never stay here again. We camped at Fossil Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

VERY unkept. This place is a dump. Worst place I've ever stayed in. Only positive is that the site was level. Owner very rude. Office hours said 4-10 pm. At 4:30 went in to find her watching TV, and she was upset that I didn't see the sign that said she wasn't there and would be back later. Try anyplace else in the area if you have to stop near there. We camped at Fossil Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

Arrived and read the sign that said we could choose our own spot, so we did. The office is the owner's home so I went to pay and check to be sure our spot was OK with her. It was so we set up. The only negative is that there are also full timers in the park in single wides which would normally be OK. However, sitting out enjoying the cool weather that evening, we heard one of the residents shouting obscenities at someone! Also, there were barking dogs, again at the single wides. The owner was no where to be seen, and there were no printed rules given to us when we checked in. All in all, though, there are few sites and few campers so we had lots of room between us and others. The sites are actually very close but you can tell that people regularly choose every other site so that no one is too close as the owner let's you choose the site that suits you. There are back in sites and pull through sites so you can choose what you want. There are LOTS of trees and bushes in the park which we enjoyed. Even though you are only about 1/4 mile from the interstate, there is very little noise due to sell the trees and bushes. We enjoyed our stay due to the quiet and the relative privacy of the park and spacing of campers. We camped at Fossil Creek RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The first night we didn't feel like cooking so went into town to get diesel fuel. We finally found some at the propane place and asked them where to eat. They recommended a bar downtown on Main Street called "840 Ale" The food was excellent and the service was great! Nearest Wal mart is back in Hays, about 25 miles away.

This is a over night stop for us. It was easy to locate, clean bath and showers. Laundry was $1.50 per wash and dry. Good condition of machines. Would stay here again. We camped at Fossil Creek RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is an old park that is good for an overnight stop. They have a few pull through sites, but long rigs have a tough time due to trees and narrow sites. We camped at Fossil Creek RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Old mobile home park. Grass unmowed. Septic biggest issue, overflowed. Hence flies. No cable, no wifi.... The hotel down the road was access. No more fossil creek for me. We camped at Fossil Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

The $25 rate is for a weekly stay. Park is OK but has a run down appearance. There are full hook ups but the sewer was covered by a rock. I noticed on other sites that the sewer dump was open with no cover (not even a rock!). Access to and from I-70 is convenient. We stay there because of relatives that live in Hays (25 miles west) and the two RV parks in Hays are awful!

Lot spacing is nearby with some shade. Site surface is gravel. We camped at Fossil Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

I would stay in the Triple J park over this one. No maintenance in fossil, so looks run down. No problems and it is probably quieter than triple j, just not as neat. We camped at Fossil Creek RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Campground as a whole had a run-down appearance, even though our site was adequate and nicely shaded. The camp host was friendly and welcoming. Laundry machines were available in the bathroom/shower house. We camped at Fossil Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

We camped here because of the Passport America discount. The campground has the worst bathroom, shower, and laundry room of any I've been to. Bathroom has not been cleaned and water leak around the toilet. Grass has not been mowed and caused some of the campsites to be inaccessible. We will not camp here again and hope we don't come across another one like this. We camped at Fossil Creek RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This campground is very run down and in sad shape. There are a variety of rigs, permanent trailers, and odd storage buildings. The sites were weedy and poorly maintained. After checking in we unhooked our jeep and drove over to our site. There was someone in it. We could not see a suitable site that would accommodate our 40' rig. We decided not to stay and received our money back. We would not recommend this campground. We camped at Fossil Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

A great place for a quiet nights rest. Cozy and shady with plenty of room between sites. The owner is a sweet widowed woman. The yard may not be mowed when you get there. The site was level, pull through and full hookups. We did some laundry in the new building which also housed the showers. All spic and span! Rate reflects PA. We camped at Fossil Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

My wife specifically called ahead to inquire regarding train noise. A woman assured her there was a train but it was 2 miles away and you could not hear it unless all of your windows were open or you were outside. We were in our motor home with all of the windows closed and our heater on. We would stronger NOT recommend this place! We camped at Fossil Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is not a place we'd stay again. I picked it over it's completion based on other reviews but was very disappointed in this small cramped park, however; it served it's purpose as a place to stop for the night. There were abandoned, gutted house trailers along one side of the park and what appeared to be a permanent 5th wheel in one site with loud teens or young adults. We won't come again. We camped at Fossil Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.
