A quick overnight stop. Plenty of space for my 37 foot Travel Trailer. No staff there to check in; paid by check in the box. Very little signage once you enter the Park complex to where the RV park is located, but just keep heading towards the back (SE corner.) Did not use any of the facilities, but the electricity worked. We camped at Washington City Park in a Travel Trailer.

What a deal! As others have said you just leave $15 in the box. We never saw anyone. Only RV here on a Thursday. Nice grounds. Packed dirt/grass. Very clean. 50 amp at some sites, 30 at others. Some pull throughs. Pool next door in city park. Verizon worked well. We camped at Washington City Park in a Motorhome.

The park is beautiful park and in a quiet part of town. There is a creek with a small waterfall next to the RV pads that produce a very peaceful sound. Huge wonderful playground for children. Gorgeous park. I would certainly stay here again! Wonderful stay! We camped at Washington City Park in a Fifth Wheel.

It is a value and we may stay there again as we make the trip across Rt. 36 4 times yearly. There are 20 somewhat shaded spaces. We stayed on a Monday so only 3 others units were there. Several sites are pull through. Electricity is at every site. The restroom facilities are elsewhere in this large city park, adjacent to the pool. It would have been a long walk and no way would you want to go in a public, unlocked bathroom in the dark. So I would only recommend this campground to self-contained units. Payment is by the honor system as is using the dump station. The picnic table was in poor, warped and rough condition. We camped at Washington City Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Though it is a city park it would be too far for most to walk to shopping. This is just an overnight spot and most would not unhitch their vehicle so do your shopping prior to setting up.

Overall Rating:

We love staying at city parks. This one is a great value. The campground clean and well maintained. There is a mix of 20, 30, and 50 amp sites. Some have water hook ups as well. Spaces are large and most are well shaded. Some have picnic tables. The Blue River runs behind the campground. There was only one other camper at the park when we were there midweek. We did notice that locals park at the campground during their lunch breaks. We felt very safe in this campground. Overall, this is an excellent value and we would stay here again. We camped at Washington City Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The campground is next to the city park which features a fitness trail, public pool, grills, and a huge play area (Munchkin Land!) for kids. Unfortunately, there's not much to do in Washington, but it's good as a stopover. There are no real grocery stores or good restaurants here, so be prepared. Be sure to visit Marcon Pies to take a tour and pick up a pie. They're famous in this region and only a five minute walk up D Street from the campground. We checked out the shop, but it's closed during the first week in August for vacation, so we couldn't get any pies.

Overall Rating:

This camping area is a little gem at the edge of a very nice little city park about 4 blocks South of US 36 on "D" Street. Self check in, honor system, 18 spaces all with 30 amp. Two of the spaces have both 30 & 50 amp. Water at three spaces. A convenient sewer dump is near the entrance. The City Park, playground, and pool and is on the north side of the RV parking area. It's all well kept and very neat and tidy. The City pool is open during the season and there is a lot of playground equipment for kids. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Washington City Park in a Motorhome.
