12 RV Parks near Williamsburg, Kansas
May 2019 - $30.00
Stopped after a long day on the road for one night. Called on the road for a reservation. Staff was very friendly and give you a bag of fresh popcorn. Sites were full hookup and quite level. Location is near the Interstate but not much road noise. Would stop here again. - Laser
Mar 2019 - $30.00
Perfect RV park off of I35, east access. Family owned mom and pop park. Greeted with friendly service and fresh popcorn. Would recommend! - LAN
Aug 2018 - $34.00
After a long day on the road it was nice to pull in and have immediate service including freshly popped bag of pop corn, and a nice ink pen. This is a park we will remember while traveling I-35. It is a very easy on and off plenty of space between the sites and very clean. - Gypsymaus
Oct 2018 - $10.00
Another excellent Corps park with a layout of two loops around a lake - interesting that it was signed with warnings about water contact and how to deal with fish due to algae. One thought for summer camping would be to find the shady spots since the rv sites are asphalt and would be hot after a long sunny day. However, being a "road", the sites were fairly level. Power was good and water was available at the sites. Some minor road noise, as we were at the end of the southern loop near the road. Nice walk around the lake for the dog with a good path. - cherib
May 2018 - $10.00
Beautiful site along the lake. Small gravel walk way along the lake, nice, except for all the goose poo. Nicely maintained and friendly host. Very spacious site. We had a pull through, but many of the pull throughs we observed seemed quite short and more curved than necessary. Even so, it was easy in and out and the site was very level on black top. We loved our site and would definitely stay again and preferably longer if traveling through the area. Only complaint is all the biting gnats, but not a lot can be done about that. Just the type of weather and conditions that give you those little bugs. Sunset was beautiful across the lake. It was a nice peaceful stop. No traffic noise and overall a very quiet campground. - JonesAussies
Apr 2018 - $20.00
This is a very nice Corps Of Engineers campground. Shaded sites, well, taken care of, modern rest rooms and showers and washers and dryers. Water and electric on part of them and full hookup on the other part. Good space between sites that are mowed. Very quiet and peaceful there. They have several host volunteers and a frequent law enforcement ranger presence. So, if you are an all nighter, loud drunk, etc. or want to let your dog roam off leash because it is special and the rules don't apply to it, this is not the place for you. Very enjoyable three day stay. Lots of room during the week, fills up quite a bit on the weekends. Probably the nicest COE campground we have been in. No cost to make an online reservation!!!! - Wyoming Wanderers
May 2012 - $11.00
This is a very nice COE park. There are several COE campgrounds in this section of Pomona Lake and all looked very good. Rate reflects a Golden Age discount for .50 amp, water, and sewer. There are only twelve of these sites and quite a number of electric and water sites. Contractors seemed nice and informative. We would definitely stay here again. - PALPJL
Aug 2014 - $20.00
Pomona State Park is a wonderful state park with a lot of good amenities (lake, beaches, hiking trails, boat ramps). Our nightly rate reflects buying the KS annual camping pass, plus the KS annual vehicle permits (one per vehicle RV+Car), plus 3 utilities (50 amp elec, water, sewer) for a month.
We stayed here in February and really appreciated the ability to stay in a state park setting, with full hookups, in winter.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Even though we were one of the few campers here, this time of year, the park was regularly patrolled and it felt very safe. Staff was onsite during the week and readily available to answer questions or to help as needed.
The park is generally in good repair and well maintained. Some of the picnic tables, at a few sites, are in desperate need of replacement; but otherwise the park facilities were in good working order.
The park is pretty, quiet, and serene. Although we could hear (several) barking dogs from the surrounding private residences outside the park, there was otherwise no road noise, railroad tracks, etc to detract from the park's serenity.
There are quite a few campsites/camp-loops, ranging from water-front primitive camping to full-hookup RV sites available. We stayed in the Burning Heart camp-loop, which has full-hookups and is available for long(er) term stays.
The roads are paved, leading to gravel sites. Most sites were generally level and wide enough for an awning or slide-outs. There is not a lot of visual separation between the sites but they are well separated and about average for a state park (vs a tightly packed RV park).
Laundry facilities are available all year and the machines were in good working order, inside of a clean and usable laundry room.
The site had 50 amp service, a frost free (non-heated) hydrant, and sewer hookup. All utilities worked well. Other sites offer 30amp and water only, and there are several primitive campsites throughout. All sites have a fire-ring and a picnic table.
We had reasonable Verizon wireless internet access and had good ATT cellular access. Both were within 2-4 bars of LTE service (unboosted).
The park is located between two small towns, Pomona to the east and Lyndon to the west and offered very basic shopping and a few restaurants. Ottawa is the closest town of any size, offering traditional shopping and dining options. Kansas City is about an hour north.
Overall we really enjoyed our time here at Pomona State Park and will definitely be returning. - Geom
Jun 2014 - $22.00
This is a roomy state park with lots of grass and shade trees. There are sites of all sizes for both large rigs and smaller equipment. This a good park for an overnight stay or longer term. Swimming, marina, basketball, disc golf course, volleyball, tetherball. Equipment for check out at park office. It is clean and staff is friendly. This is on our "top ten" list. Price listed includes full hookups. - ksgypsy
Sep 2009 - $21.00
This campground is on Pomona Lake 24 miles south of Topeka. The campground is absolutely gorgeous with lots of trees and very spacious campsites. Every site is shaded. There are several different camping areas and some are primitive, but there are many full hookup sites and even more water/electric sites available. The sites in Burning Heart area are full hookup and there are several very long pull through sites that are quite nice. Most of the sites have only a view of the water, but there are a few water front sites near the marina. And several sites have no view of the water at all, but the wooded surroundings are very beautiful. We didn't use the shower facilities but the building looks very new and modern. We will definitely camp here again. The only reason I didn't give a 10 is that the cellphone service was marginal. Our wireless Internet card did work there however. - benidew
Jul 2011 - $10.00
Hi, This a clean and quiet RV park located right on US 59, 15 miles south of I-35. It is open year round. Good power--but we were initially the only RV in the Park. All sites are pull through. There are no toilets. There are picnic tables. Payment is by cash or cheque. It is located at the intersection of Highway 59 and Central St. There are a few shaded spots. I would stay here again. - User3761
Oct 2018 - $22.00
The camp ground was amazing. Stayed at the west equestrian campground with full hookups at a lake side site. The gravel pads are well kept up and really long. Sites are angled so that the RV's aren't right next to each other. Some sights very open and some with shade. The campground had a couple yurts and cabins too. Water pressure is high so a pressure regulator is advised. Lots of birds- including pelicans and herons! Will definitely return! - NanciRV
Jul 2017 - $23.00
We stayed in the Doud campground in campsite 120. Our campiset was full hook up, The full hook up sites in Doud campground was filled the surrounding campsite were electric only. There were a couple of campers the electric only sites. It was a really hot weekend. The other campers were friendly. We have a 22" RV and the other RV's dwarfed ours. On Saturday we rented two Kayaks We rented them for two hours so the camp volunteer hauled the Kayaks to the cove we kayaked in. The also have trails for hiking, biking, and horse back riding. The best part of the camp were the volunteers, they operated a small store and the Kayak canoe rentals. They gave our dog a treats every time he went into the store. Our dog really loved the volunteers. They also gave kids free pop cycles. On Saturday afternoon we also drove to Emporia and toured William Allen White's home Red Rocks State Historical Site. https://www.kshs.org/red_rocks - DuaneG
Jun 2017 - $21.00
We stayed here in a 28ft travel trailer and enjoyed our stay. The sites in the Blackjack camp ground were very close together but the neighbors were friendly and respectful. Would've like to have a map upon arrival as we went down the wrong loop and the turn was super tight. Finally found our site but we were headed the wrong way to back in. After we got all of this figured out no problems what so ever. New shower house and restrooms close to the Blackjack and Doud campgrounds. Also the 18 hole disc golf course on site is a very fun play and is kept up nicely for a state park. Would stay again if we were in the area. We had a nice 3 day weekend here. - CW35
Jan 2018 - $28.00
We stayed one night en route from Independence, MO to Oklahoma City. We pulled in after closing and used the night registration they told us about by phone which was easy but I guess it's necessary to bring cash and in the right amount too. Unsure if checks accepted and no apparent way to leave a credit card. There is an abundance of pull-through sites, however most are not level (uphill going in). We found one or two in the first row that leveled out OK towards the end of the site. Our towed vehicle was on the downhill a little but OK for our size (25') motorhome. It might be easier to find a level site during the daylight! The bathrooms were satisfactory - not super clean or nice but not dirty either. Bathroom stalls have pull curtains which seems odd. It's easy on/off for US75. Some traffic noise but it quiets down during the night. Arrive before sunset so you can see and pick among the spaces. - MNroadie
Aug 2016 - $16.00
It was on So. US Hwy 75, it was a little off the beaten path but on the Santa Fe Trail. It was clean and everyone was friendly. - Jim and Me
Aug 2016 - $28.00
Great park easy to get to and very quiet. Lots of rabbits for my dog to salivate over. We were going to stay one week and decided after being there to stay six weeks. Great place. Lyndon was a great town. - Frank Farquhar
Aug 2018 - $11.00
Previous reviews go back to 2007. It is now August, 2018 and my review echos the others. You have to want to get here, but once here you could spend a day or a few days and enjoy your stay. Because of costs we always try to find a COE campground. This is tied with my favorite. Well kept, wide roads, large sites and great camp host. Park typically full on Summer weekends, but we arrived on Sunday evening and were the only rv in the Park. Cell service was strong for Verizon and AT&T. Electric and water only. We spent one night. On a large lake. - Mike from Bama
Jun 2017 - $21.00
We reserved #45 and found out when we arrived that it included #48 at the additional charge. Level paved sites with plenty of grassy area. Fire rings were not near enough to site to be useful. Quiet even on the weekend when it filled up. To access approach from Osage City since Turkey Point is on the opposite side of the lake from the Outlet Park and COE headquarters. Fishing access within walking distance of our site. There was a marina somewhere because many of the weekenders had boats. - Betsy_02
Jul 2008 - $17.00
We really enjoy camping here. There is a lot of shade and easy access to the water. They have recently eliminated the vault toilets and made them into flush toilet, and shower, which was a huge improvement to the area we camped in The campground hosts are great. They do their jobs without being "rule nazis". This is just a beautiful quiet campground with lots of space between the individual campsites. - benidew
Jun 2017 - $15.00
Located about an hour SW of Kansas City, able to enjoy peace and quiet of a rural town. Easy in/out. Inn also has a bar available for adult beverage to unwind. Very reasonable rates. Even though lots of rain previous few days, mud kept to a minimum. - estrellatejasbonita
Jul 2015 - $20.00
Nice level, clean park located behind a small motel. Friendly staff. Register in the motel office. Rated down one star because of noise from trains and trucks. Otherwise a good overnight stay. - Dewclaw
Jul 2010 - $13.00
We have been staying here as we get our house ready for sale. They offer a Passport America Discount. We have been paying $12.50 +tax for the last few months. Employees are friendly. Large sites with a nice grassy yard at each site, picnic table and grill. Would definitely stay here again. - Gregg & Lynette McHenry
