Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This was our second stay at this park and first stay since the new section was added. The campground has pull through and back-in sites. Some campers in back-in sites had to park vehicles sideways to fit. There was no apparent effort by management to clean sites between visitor stays -- plastic picnic tables were very dirty with bird droppings. New section not mowed before a major event weekend. High grass in sites and camping area resulted in swarms of biting flies (made grilling and eating outside difficult and unpleasant). Gravel RV pad of many new sites full of grass and not very level - see photos. Sites share electric and water posts. New sites are not smoothly graded, watch for holes and rocks when walking in the high grass -- a trip hazard. Ground is not level at many sites so your picnic table may be an an angle. New section has no shade so we baked in the 90+ degree sun. Restroom/shower located in an old barn, not very attractive. Owner has a record keeping problem. He made several passes through camping area asking to see receipts during our stay. Woman checking us in was emphatic about reading and conforming to rules. Yet quiet hours (10pm to 8am) were not enforced. A few sites over from us music and very loud talking went on well past midnight. Owner seemed exclusively focused on serving the Airstream group parked in the older shady section. If you decide to visit the campground ask for site in old section but specify it must be level as many are not. All power posts are 50 amp so if you are 30 amp make sure you have a 50 to 30 adapter. Wifi is inadequate for even downloading emails when park is 2/3 full of RV's. Water pressure was good. Electric service was reliable. No fire pits at the sites. Some had new plastic picnic tables. List overnight rate was $44.00. We paid $40.00 with a Good Sam discount. This park is not a $40.00 park. This will be our last visit to White Acres. We camped at White Acres Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Bardstown is in the center of Kentucky bourbon country. There are many distilleries to visit within a reasonable drive of the campground. The downtown area is quaint, has some historic buildings as well as boutique shops and nice restaurants. A large Wal-Mart and large Kroger grocery store are a few miles away from the campground for replenishing food and supplies. There is plenty to see and do in the area for a few days.

Easy access for large rigs. Entry road is asphalt. Campground roads are gravel as are sites. Based on some other reviews we read, my husband was asked to go into the office to register. The owner's daughter was helping in the office and she was friendly and helpful. The site initially assigned was grown over with grass so we were told to select any open site. The park has "buddy system" sites. Our site was relatively level. Based on the way the park is designed, some of the sites are a bit odd in that you have to pull in, then back out. There are back-in, pull-through, and pull-in sites in the park. There wasn't a designated pet area, but there's plenty of space to walk pets. Verizon service was practically non-existent, but the park wifi was good. We were able to get 11 OTA channels. If wind is blowing from the East, you can smell the faint scent of corn mash. We camped at White Acres Campground in a Motorhome.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were a bit undecided after reading other reviews. However, if you do not need amenities, other than full hookups, it is a great campground. It is a no frills campground as far as amenities go. But if you want a quiet, peaceful, shaded campground it is great. They do have a new section that is still in progress but the main campground is well developed as far as grass, trees, and shade. We camped with friends and liked the fact that hookups are opposite each other so basically all the sites are buddy sites and facing each other. There is a large grassy area between our campers with picnic tables. They were not full when we got here and they let us choose the sites we wanted. Did not use the bathrooms or showers. WiFi worked good most of the time. Definitely would stay here again if we came back to the area. We camped at White Acres Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is a no frills park. We wanted a place close to Bardstown and it was close, super close. Our site like many others was not even close to level. But, when we arrived we were met with genuine hospitality and was greeted many times thru our stay by the owner wanting to look in a check on us. This was really nice. Our site had a nice tree with shade and plenty of room between us and our neighbor. It was very quiet, no road noise whatsoever. We were very relieved to have a quiet place. Might not have been level but the spaces were plenty wide and long. Looks like the park is expanding as there is a new side that is not on the map and has just been finished. Will stay here again. We camped at White Acres Campground in a Motorhome.

Nice quiet park in great setting. Spent over a week here while waiting to get into a new house. Large spaces, but only have 50 amp so bring adapter if your rig is 30 amp. Full hook up's great WiFi the best we found in all our travels. Only a mile from town and close to all points of interest. We camped at White Acres Campground in a Travel Trailer.

RV Park Reviews: Stayed 3 nights on group event. RV park has potential to be a gem but given few other RV choices in area, owners don't seem inclined to bring this park up to acceptable standards. Very surprised they carry the Good Sam designation? Park needs significant maintenance and updating ... particularly the bathhouse. Sites in need of leveling and other maintenance (electric post connection was loose and water pressure was very low). Our site was a Pull-in and next site over was a Back-in so although very close to next site ...on patio side we had nice green space between the next site over. Site was plenty long enough but was extremely narrow so when hugged one edge still had door steps off the gravel on other side. Gravel sites could use widening, leveling, grading and more gravel coverage. Although Bathhouse was relatively clean it was dismal - bordering on run-down with old fixtures, no water pressure, little to no hot water and shower room stall doors were old unfinished plywood sheets that looked like they came off an old decrepit barn. Unfortunately, not many other RV park options in Bardstown area so owners not motivated to improve?? We camped at White Acres Campground in a Motorhome.

This park is a work in process. Management's efforts to improve the sites and roads are readily apparent and we feel the park has great potential. Our site was excellent, though many others are in need of attention - and staff was working on those sites and the internal road during our visit. The park is very convenient to Bardstown and all its attractions. We camped at White Acres Campground in a Motorhome.

Initially disgusted by bathrooms and general lack of upkeep in park. Has tremendous potential with the layout and trees, but very unlevel sites, tall grass, abandoned buildings/barns/equipment concerned us about pest/snakes/chiggers.... gravel sites are narrow and require external steps even when air is dumped. The area between sites with the tall trees was the saving grace for the campground. Won't go back. We camped at White Acres Campground in a Motorhome.

A gem of a park with really nice folks. Owners had the foresight when designing this Campground to provide space between sites and plant some amazing trees. Mostly level sites, no issue with blocks or needing to worry about steps. Plenty of space for dogs to chase the ball (or rabbits) in nearby fields. Close by attractions In Bardstown, but campground should be an attraction on its own. WiFi excellent. We camped at White Acres Campground in a Motorhome.

Doing lots of upgrades. New paving, fairly level gravel sites. Only had to drive the motorhome up on one board to level. All sites with full (50 amp) services dthat worked well. Believe it or not, Wifi worked well. Great area for all the bourbon tour. Nice area, fair price, we would stay here again. We camped at White Acres Campground in a Motorhome.

Great WiFi!! We could watch Netflix and had fast download speed. Easy to connect. The park is being improved. New pavement was laid down and owner said they are going to continue. Sites are gravel and do need to be re-leveled. Owners know and are improving and expanding. They are a good Sams club but he didn't give me a discount when I gave him my card. the spaces are very large between sites. Lots of grass and it's set back from the road. Very peaceful and close to town. No laundry. We camped at White Acres Campground in a Motorhome.

Site was not level, had to have front wheels almost four inches off ground after moving back and forth three times. Owner's son was pleasant but his father was not. Made it clear that being there 33 years never had leveling problem. There are other nicer places to stay. We camped at White Acres Campground in a Motorhome.

Came here to just spend the night but ended up staying several days to tour the area. Campground is clean and well kept. A few long term residents but they are mostly in one section and their places appeared well kept. Escort to site. Owners on site and were very helpful. Gravel roads and parking pads. Grass yards. Adjacent sites pull in from opposite directions so they can share water connections. This puts rigs back to back for some and front to front for others. Would stay again but be sure to get back to back unless your're traveling with friends. We camped at White Acres Campground in a Motorhome.
