Park was very nicely kept. Camp host was very friendly and accommodating. That was the good. When we arrived, about 5PM which is after hours, there weren't any signs to direct us to an office or camp host. Fortunately, the camphost/hostess pulled up behind us. They directed us to our site. We were woken at 5AM by loud talking and laughing! Apparently there was a running marathon that day and 50 to 100 runners were directed through the campground area!! Mind you this park is huge and has many trails and paths they could have used. I spoke with the assistant park manager who clearly understood how I felt and he suggested that I speak with the park manager. Eventually I found her and when I mentioned that I had spoke with her assistant, she said she was aware and walked away. Apparently they do two of these marathons a year, unannounced and not on their events calendar. So I give the park good grades, but the park manager an "F". - Caroga

Nicely situated on the banks above the Mississippi River. Our site was #25 and we had nice views of the river and were able to watch the barge traffic. The host was great and very helpful. There is a insteresting old cemetery right across the road and also a nice walking trail through the park that offers great river views as well as interesting signs that informs of the Civil War history linkage. Beautiful, large trees all over the place! - Davishouse2

Park on the edge of no where. Nice, shaded, big sites, overlook the Mississippi River. No real staff at Park. There is a camp host but she was not here when we arrived. Just found our site and it was marked as reserved for us. Camp host dropped by later and checked on us. Verizon iffy. Do not buy the tengointernet, waste of money. Nice people. We would stay here again, but unlikely we will ever be in this neck of the woods again. - Littleredsportscar

It has been a few years since we have stopped here. My 5/15 review gives a more detailed description of the park. The self check in is quick and simple. As others have said, $12 for a FHU site can't be beat. As long as you don't want/need cable TV, Wi-Fi, clean bathrooms, etc., this park is fine for an overnight. Most of the sites are a combination of grass/dirt/gravel, fairly roomy, pull through, and satellite friendly. I did not even bother to check the bathrooms. I would have been surprised to see any recycling. - Jerry S

A search brought this up while traveling. Ended up stopping on the return trip too. OK, it is a field with full hook up pull through sites. Site was dry after a night of rain. No one in the 'office', a little info on an envelope, add $12.00 and enjoy. Really! There were very few there that never move but were neat and clean. We did not unhook and walked to Wally's restaurant for a very good dinner. If in the area I'd surely stop again. Site is mostly grass with a little gravel. Not all sites have 50 amp. My ems said L2 had only 90 volts at the 1st 50 amp I checked but 2 others we stayed in were fine. At $12 for an overnight it is a bargain. - CaptnJohn

Definitely adequate for just a nights stay. Very friendly, honor system...leave money with your name and campsite and cash in an envelope in a box. $12.00 cash. If you are just looking for a place to stay - nothing fancy - this is perfect. - Glinda T

Nice campground with friendly owner. Level gravel sites for long rigs pulling trailers. Great Mexican restaurant 100 yards away. - Johngflyer
Oct 2018 - $38.00
A small but well kept campgrounds with a few long term sites but plenty of room for us and others who arrived after we did. Owner checked us in and escorted us to our site. In the section we were assigned, there was only gravel. No grass between sites. No picnic tables and no fire rings/fires. Good water pressure. Asked owner for map of campgrounds but he said none had ever been made. - DeRenzy

Good campground choice for visiting Paducah. Comfortable and easy to find. Small, privately owned with friendly staff. Level gravel sites and well mowed property. While not a fancy resort-type CG, it was a good choice for our weekend visit. Quiet and safe. The lake was a bonus feature - pretty and a nice walk around. - Flying Mantis
