This is a very small loop campground. Our site was fairly level but the electric and water were very far from the site we stayed on 39. Have to have an extension to reach the electric. We arrived on a Saturday during the battle reenactment and had nonstop kids and adults cutting through our site, which is annoying but there was really wasn't any other way for them to get to the playground except cutting through sites. The lodge was not far by car but the hills it was very hard to get to by bike. Some people had golf carts which would have been really nice here. They had mini golf, a pool and a few hiking trails. We are not big into plants but they have a very rare plant called the short's goldenrod that only grows here and very few places in Indiana and it was very easy to spot. Overall it's an okay place for a short trip but I could not spend more than two nights here and we went with more than usual going on with the reenactment. The staff here is very friendly. We camped at Blue Licks State Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed in site 38. It had water and electric hookups. We had to use extensions to reach both. The site pad is blacktop, and the rest is a mix of grass, dirt, and small gravel. The site backed up to the playground, basketball court, and bath house. We chose it specifically because of its proximity to the playground. This made it easy for me to watch the kids play from the camper. The play area is very nice. Site 38 had trees nearby, however with the way the sun set, we had very little shade. I would recommend site 36. It was very shady. The campground was VERY full and busy. There were SEVERAL children running/biking/hover boarding around the loop. We most likely will not camp here again, just because it was so crowded. The picnic table was wood, and it rough shape. We sat on towels to prevent splinters. We camped at Blue Licks State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

We visited the campground pool. Campers can swim for $2 but lodge guests swim for free. Seemed strange to me. We got to the pool at 10:30am and by 12:00pm it was packed. There weren't enough chairs/seats for everyone, but most were in the pool. You can bring in snacks and your own cooler. No glass, no alcohol.

Upon arrival, no one was in the check-in booth, but we were able to find our site and set up without a problem. This is a small state park, but it was well maintained, family friendly, and clean. Sites are all paved, but range from level to severely off grade. We have a bigger RV, 37ft, and didn't have any issues maneuvering through the park. The campsite is a giant loop with the bath house, playground, and basketball court in the center. There is a pool in the park that was a short 10 minute walk from our site. We got great cell, Verizon, and 4G service. We picked up a fair number of local TV channels as well. As a family that likes to hike, we thought the trails left something to be desired. They were well maintained, but short and choppy. We didn't use the bath house, but did scope it out and it appeared dated, but in clean working order. There are tons of scheduled events and activities on Fridays and Saturdays we enjoyed as a family. We only saw a park ranger once during our stay, but never had an issue with noise or rude neighbors. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming! We will be back soon! We camped at Blue Licks State Park in a Travel Trailer.

The average rating was solely because of sites. We tried 3 different sites, and still could not get level. Local told us there was only 4 level sites in campground, and you guessed it, they were taken. This was just an overnight stay, so we did not use any of the amenities, but lodge did have restaurant which was very crowded Had to pay at lodge, as campground was not officially open, but water was turned on. Utilities were not placed in very good location. We camped at Blue Licks State Park in a Motorhome.

Lodge evidently has a decent restaurant. It was Friday evening seafood, and there was a long waiting list, but we did not eat there.

Whomever designed the rv sites in this park has never spent much time in an rv as evidenced by the direction of the campsites (i've watched 3 people - inlcuding myself -struggle to get into a site). As mentioned before, bring extra power cords to hook up to the power and a very long hose (I came prepared) as I've watched a couple of people have to leave because they couldn't reach the power. We were in space 50 - and the picnic table and the fire-ring are both on the side of the rv where the water/power hooks up - and not on the side where the door is. Again - poor planning on the designers of this place. We camped at Blue Licks State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Another of these parks where water and electricity are between 2 well separated sites. Long cords and hoses are necessary. Due to recent storms, we had a mud puddle outside our front door. Overall, though, I would recommend this park if one is well prepared with ample hookup materials. We camped at Blue Licks State Park in a Travel Trailer.

The wife and I really enjoy Bluelicks Campground. It’s a quiet low key campground. Staff is very nice and friendly. Campground has always been clean. Check before you go as some sites are not as level as others. Not much to do in the area for shopping or sightseeing but the park does have a museum, pool, Put-Put golf and trails. We camped at Blue Licks State Park in a Travel Trailer.

We arrived on a Friday and was surprised it wasn't overcrowded already. We hiked the trails and checked out the park. The pool was closed for the season, but mini golf was open on the weekend. The museum was still closed for renovation. For the most part campsites were level and good condition. We stayed at campsite 25 and the only bad thing about it was trees were to close to open awning. Be prepared to bring extra extension cord and water line as some of sites need them. The restrooms were clean and decent shape. Overall we liked our stay and will be back here again. Small campground perfect for families. Park makes a tear drop shape with playground and restrooms in the middle. Each lot is large with lots of grass and the majority have shade. There are several trails to go on and a short walk (1/4 mile?). There is putt-putt, playground, and an Olympic size pool. There is also a museum, but currently closed for renovations. The lodge at park has a very nice restaurant worth checking out. There is no Wi-Fi or cable, but we were able to get several channels using TV booster. I've camped here several times in the past. This park seems to be like most KY state parks – very few sites that are level. Even through restrooms were clean, we are finding that most KY parks need to be upgraded and their facilities repaired. On the grounds you can hike, swim in a pool, play miniature golf, visit the museum (excellent), walk the grounds of the battlefield, visit the Inn and even hike the Buffalo Trace!. There were only three other campers here when we arrived. We have also found that especially during the month of April, no one is at the gates in the KY State Parks so anyone can drive around and use the facilities and it is hard to find someone to talk to for information. There are some positives for this – you can change your site whenever you want to and when you do find someone they are always friendly and informative. Beautiful drive to get to this park if you drive the scenic byway by the horse farms to Paris and then pick up 68 which goes right by the park. We camped at Blue Licks State Park in a Motorhome.

You should make sure you have extra cribbing, a long electric cord & long water hose. Nice shade in most spots. Some spots look too short for anything other than a pop up or tent. Lodge food was spectacular. History of the place was interesting. Will try to come back when pool is open. We camped at Blue Licks State Park in a Travel Trailer.

We stay here at least once a year. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. The park would be really great if they expanded, had individual sewer hook-ups, and some pull-through spaces. It is always a clean, neat state park with activities available. They have a wonderful evening buffet at their lodge. We camped at Blue Licks State Park in a Motorhome.

We love this park because the staff is so great. There are some sites that are hard for a big rig to get into. We usually try to stay at a space next to the bathroom because we can easily get our rig on it. The park does not have many lots for a big rig to fit into. It is a great place and I would dearly love to see the park obtain monies to upgrade it. We have eaten at the lodge and the buffet is great and always fresh and appealing. If one is lucky enough to get there on their monthly "Seafood Friday". We do not have any children but the Activity Manager always has events and outings for children. The staff has always gone above and beyond their normal duties to assist us. We are totally impressed with Blue Licks State Park. We camped at Blue Licks State Park in a Motorhome.

We were very pleased with this CG. We stayed over a weekend and found it to be clean and well kept. The bathrooms are aged but were quite clean even though the park was almost full. This is a state resort park and has an excellent museum describing the battle at Blue Licks. There is a restaurant, though we didn't try it. The only complaint we had was there was no signage indicating the campground entrance when arriving from the north. It only displays the restaurant and museum. This campground is part of a State Lodge which has a very nice supper buffet. The swimming pool is a short distance away as well as the miniature golf course, but the playground for small children was right in the center for easy access and visual needs. There are several hiking trails, and canoe trips on the Licking river are offered during the summer. This campground is well within 30 minutes of 3 cities with major shopping and stores and is protected by the State Parks authority whom walk the campground several times a night as well as vehicle patrol. During summer months the park offers music and magic shows in the pavilion ehich is in the middle of the campground. Main draw backs are no sewer at each site and the road noise from US 68 We camped at Blue Licks State Park in a Fifth Wheel.
