Overall Rating:

Stayed during Tgiving. No other campers but would definitely go back. For private CG lots of space/trees between sites. Most sites are terraced and are level. Services are first rate including cable and WiFi. Ways off I75 so not convenient overnighter...more of destination CG. Easy drive to Cumberland Falls which was super cool including “Moonbow”. Laurel Lake super close but didn’t go there. We camped at Laurel Lake Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed a total of three nights here in July - one night on our way down to our furthest destination point, and two nights on the way back. On our first visit, we arrived on a Sunday evening around 6:00. There was no one there, and the gate was locked. My T-mobile cell phone service did not work, so we couldn't call. I slipped through the side of the the gate to try to find a work-camper or a long-term resident. I found a wonderful couple who had Verizon service, and they were able to call the office. The husband not only got our site number, he took us to the site and back to the gate, giving us the code so we could get in. Almost a disaster, and an unwelcome surprise after a long day, but it all worked out. I would suggest that you call before your arrival on the day you are due to arrive to get your site information as well as the gate code so that you don't have a similar experience. This is a beautiful, quiet, woodsy campground. There are paths with gravel, and dirt paths through the woods and around the little lake. The lake is open for fishing, but not swimming, and it is too small to kayak. There is no noise or light pollution, so you can see the stars. It has a general sundry store, and they have a little cafe for breakfast and dinner (nothing fancy, and we didn't use it). The other campers were some of the friendliest people I've ever met camping. It is NOT a KOA-type campground, and there are no pre-planned activities (though there is a small playground and volleyball court). There is no pool, and the campground wifi isn't very good. Our AT&T hotspot couldn't get a functioning signal. They do have a laundry and shower, and trash must be taken to a trash area. It's the kind of campground I used to visit when I went camping with my family when I was a kid and we made our own fun and great memories. This is a wonderful campground - we loved it! We camped at Laurel Lake Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

We stayed here for two nights. Winding narrow road for several miles coming into park. No shoulder on the road so drive carefully. This is a gated campground which was nice. They give you a code to get in and out after 5:00pm. The owners are in the process of enlarging the campground and are adding another lake and up to 100 new camping sites with utilities. They own many more treed acres to the east. Very nice people with a great vision for their expansion. We stayed in a pull through site which had a little grass between the sites, along with picnic table and fire pit. There are two playground areas which looked fairly new. Beautiful treed area with small lake. My husband was able to practice his fly fishing. We would stay here again when in the area. We camped at Laurel Lake Camping Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Cumberland Falls is a short drive away and worth the trip. It's much larger and more powerful than we had thought it would be. We highly recommend The Wrigley Taproom and Brewery in downtown Corbin. It's a funky place with a great selection of beers and locally sourced food items. Really tasty!

The park was a gem of a discovery near Corbin Kentucky. The staff were very helpful and friendly. They shared with us all of their plans to make the park better. Close to the freeway and Corbin, home of Colonel Sanders. Great store and food available at the office. Give them a visit. We camped at Laurel Lake Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Park under new ownership as of 2-1/2 months ago. Very nice owners. Gravel sites, but easy to navigate. Clean. Pretty overall area, with many trees. Owners have many plans for future. We camped at Laurel Lake Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Well off I-75, but worth the trip even for overnight. Road signs need to be better....there really are none.

Sites were very tight. We asked for a pull-thru. There was a raised concrete patio that our vehicle almost hit while pulling into the site. A worker was guiding us. We had to unhook our vehicle from the MH to set up. When we left we had to back out of site to exit due to the closeness of neighboring sites in front of our site. The sites were gravel and very un-level. Stayed only one night.

I have been a KOA member for over 10 years. This is one of the worst KOA's we have stayed in so far. We camped at Laurel Lake Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

People very friendly and helpful. I had a hard time finding this campground with my gps. The address would not come up on gps. Some sites are very tight backing into, due to the trees. We camped at Laurel Lake Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Campground is in the country. Shoping would be in Corbin, Ky. Cumberland Falls is near as well as Daniel Boone National Forest. Also water for boating is close.

This park is a hidden gem near Cumberland Falls KY. Although about 10 miles off interstate, it is well worth the short drive. Park is beautiful with large level gravel sites. Pull-thru sites are extra long. Sites are spacious with plenty of room between neighbors. Tent sites and cabins are also available. Full hook-ups with cable available on back in sites. Camp store is well stocked and even offers fresh hot pizza. The park owner is very friendly and helpful. There is a fishing lake on the property and nice trails to follow. The laundry is clean, bath house clean and roomy. We stayed here in a 40 ft Motor home and plan to come back for a longer stay. We camped at Laurel Lake Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

This is a beautiful, small campground located near the Daniel Boone Forest. It is immaculately clean with large gravel sites. It has pull-through and back-in sites with full hookups. There is room for big rigs with easy access. It has beautiful cabins also. It is gated so security is not an issue.

The owners are extremely friendly and can't do enough to make your stay great. We wish we could have stayed longer. We stayed there in a 42 foot rig. We camped at Laurel Lake Camping Resort in a Motorhome.
