One of the cleanest best kept state parks we have stayed at. Camp host and parks staff were always doing something to keep the park clean and neat. Very friendly staff. Site was FHU and we did not have to level. Water and electric was all good. Pad was fine gravel which did stick to your shoes and got tracked into the MH. The site did drain well after a rain. Sites 18 - 32 do get afternoon shade. Playground, boat ramp, marina, and fishing pier all in walking distance. No OTA TV. AT&T signal good. Showers were clean with plenty of hot water and good pressure. Sites are kind of close but far enough that we did not hear our neighbors. Nice and quiet at night. Convenient if you have a boat, kayak, or canoe. - melandme

The access road off KY-40 has about 200 yards of very steep uphill driving soon after you get on it. Might be a problem for someone with a marginal pulling vehicle. Rainy while we were there, but the level, stone parking pads drained very well, I never saw a puddle in one. Bathrooms were clean, we never used the showers, so can't comment on those. I was in spot 6 which required me to put the rear supports of our 33ft 5th wheel off the pad in order to fit. Still had to put the truck in sideways to be off the road. The tent sites are at the back of the park, also on well drained stone pads and were very nice view wise. - av8

Beautiful state park and beautiful lake. The weather was a little cool but definitely not as bad as it could had been . Camp Hosts that we met couldn't be nicer and were willing to do anything if we had asked or needed something. I am sure during the season this park gets very busy, however we were about the only visitors there for a long weekend so it was very nice and quiet. Lake was gorgeous and there were a lot of boaters fishing on Sunday morning. There is a restaurant at the marina however we didn't eat there and I am not sure if it was open. I would recommend this state park to anyone. I believe there is a trail to walk however don't believe it's within walking distance to the campground. Site 9 and 10 both pull throughs and very spacious. Some of the other sites which were back in could had definitely fit our 40 ft mh. All utilities close to site. - Dream Coach

This is a pristine setting. Not full hookups but they do have a dump station. We have stayed at this location multiple times and keep going back. Clean and well kept. However there is little cellular reception form multiple carriers. - LKD

I have stayed at Grayson Lake SP many times during the past few years, with a variety of campers. As my RVs have grown in size, the campsite options have dwindled. Many sites are slanted and short. There are a couple of pull-through sites which were claimed. Water hookups are far, often more than 50' away from the campsite. I come here for the outstanding kayaking; however, while my truck was parked at the boat ramp parking, the locked bed cover was broken into and my toolbox was stolen. Be sure to lock valuables in the cab of your truck. Absolutely ZERO AT&T phone service. Verizon was better, but not great. - wms1

We came through Grayson on Rt 7 to get here. There may be a shorter route off I64 from the south but the road didn't look good for a big rig. When we found our site, 70, it was obvious there was no way we could get into it because of ditches on both sides of the narrow site entrance and there was just no room to turn without going into a ditch. A maintenance man said we could cut across the grass and enter from the rear via a small curb and the waste receptacles. We were hesitant because of our weight but the ground was dry and there wasn't a problem. Thankfully. 50 amp service strong. Water is far from this site. But we came prepared with a full tank based on previous comments. No trees so good satellite in the front of the CG. Lots of room between sites. No Wifi and NO AT&T cell service. Apparently, Verizon does ok. Prepare to be isolated. 12 miles to town so stock up beforehand. Clean surroundings with asphalt roads and sites. Senior discount available. Remnants of Hurricane Harvey were approaching and the office gal, who was so helpful, moved us to another site so we didn't have to back uphill over wet grass when leaving. Site 50 is doable. Have to note that all these sites are certainly accessible for fifth wheels because they can turn. It's big motorhomes that have the problem. It is such a nice GG with golf so accessible. It's too bad it's such a challenge. Would stay again but only in site 50. - Team Asphalt

There are 10 loops, many have no electricity at all. We stayed in H, with electricity. Water is between sites, although a few sites throughout the park have water and electric on site. Be prepared with water jugs, or lengthy hose to fill your water tank. The water available is shown on the park map, scattered throughout the park. We are in a pop up camper and were fine walking to the water faucet to fill our 8 gal water jug. The staff was very friendly, and worked hard at keeping the sites in order and restrooms clean. - PaJa
