Stayed 2 nights. The interior roads were very tight w/trees close to roads. This campground is not big rig friendly. The pool was nice & clean. Owner said the site we were given was the only one that could receive satellite TV. The FHU sites are reserved for long-term campers. Short-term get W/E only. We would not stay here again. - DreamChasers
Jul 2019 - $35.00
Quite a nice little find. The campground was clean & well cared for. The view of the lake was a surprisingly nice & direct from our site.
The pool was in immaculate condition, so clean & deeper than most. No bad sites on the grounds.
The showers were clean, but older & we didn’t use the shower but seems like it could be muggy if humid weather.
We juSt stayed one night as a stopover to Nashville from Ohio, so we didn’t explore the area. It was conveniently located off the highway, but still far enough away & wooded it didn’t feel like you were right off the highway.
Campground was mostly quiet until the nearby drag strip started up. I assume that is only the case certain nights of the week & we camped on a Thursday. - CartonC

I forgot that it was heading into Derby weekend. We had originally planned to stay closer to Bowling Green, but realized we wanted to be closer to the Bourbon Trail. So I found this campground, which would be 1/2 between the two. I called & they had only one site left for the entire time we wanted to be here. I was warned that the full hook up sites were close together, but we could watch between. The owner apologized when we got there. He said if we didn't want full hook up, the back in sites would be better. Maybe if we could have run the grey hose to the field. But we really don't know. Since we're going to be away from the campground for most of the day, it's fine. The owners are really nice & so are the other campers. 10 min from Elizabethtown, which has more major shopping. We had to park across the road. Site 3s on large gravel. The campground has a beautiful lake, a small old playground, new pool, laundry room (didn't use). - c+jp 5rvers
Sep 2019 - $30.00
Our site required 4" side-side leveling and 12" front-back. Other sites looked more level tho. Overall this CG needs a little TLC. The folks in the office were very friendly and helpful. The WiFi was adequate for checking e-mail if you are patient but not much more. Some large older trees provided some shade. - RedHorse1
Jan 2019 - $35.00
Noisy from interstate that’s behind campground. No heat in bathrooms. - Phyllis Wilson
Sep 2018 - $40.00
The mosquitoes were terrible. The monthly have standing water them from their hookups. I only looked at twin. Both have pools of water. The 30 amp service will not deliver 110 volts during busy times. Their response was surge guards were causing problems. - Beas

After reading the reviews for this park, I decided to update it. I have been at this park for a bit over two months. When I pulled in, I was a bit worried about it. It is a spot in a trailer park set aside for RVs. There were 4 other campers in the area when I pulled in. It is obvious that most of the people in the campground are there for what I call long term (over 2 months). After talking to the staff, all of my worries went away. They are very helpful and courteous. I have not experienced a problem in the electric, water or sewer. There was an evening that I came back and there was a crew working on the water pipes, I asked how long it would take, and they told me that they should be done in an hour or so. (Half an hour later I had water). There is no propane service on the campground: less than two miles north on US 31W there is a propane filling station. There is a grocery store within walking distance (less than half a mile), though I would recommend on driving to it, since it is a highway. There are probably nicer-looking RV Parks within an hour that offer more services/amenities, but there are none that are closer to historic FT Knox than this one. This one is also right off of US 31W, which makes it easy access to fellow travelers, and to folks working in the area for a short amount of time. I am leaving the area in a couple of weeks and look forward to returning to this campground when I come back. - jw117
Jul 2009 - $15.00
This park has "slum" written all over it. There were numerous trailer homes parked in the RV area - including some that were rusting pretty bad. We washed a load of clothes in our rig and the sewer backed up. - 2Bucks
May 2007 - $15.00
This is a older Mobile Home park with about 6 full hookup sites. There are a few more sites but they don't have hookups. The RV section is separate from the mobile homes. Sites are not numbered and it was hard to find the water and electric hookups. Some sites need an extension for the electric cord. There are no restrooms/showers. There is a laundry that is very inexpensive. Grass hadn't been mowed for some time. Manager advised that they were going to fix up the RV section. It's very obvious that this is not really an RV Park! They offer $15 a night to Passport and Escapee members. All others are charged $30. I would never consider paying $30 for this park. $15 was actually too much for this one. - Montana RVer
Sep 2019 - $40.00
In a site that was only grass covered. They brought a picnic table after I requested one. We were there for the Bourbon Festival and they had shuttle service (very handy). Site was not very level. Plenty of space for dog exercise but no dog park. - ShadyBill47
Sep 2019 - $40.00
This was our second stay at this park and first stay since the new section was added. The campground has pull through and back-in sites. Some campers in back-in sites had to park vehicles sideways to fit. There was no apparent effort by management to clean sites between visitor stays -- plastic picnic tables were very dirty with bird droppings. New section not mowed before a major event weekend. High grass in sites and camping area resulted in swarms of biting flies (made grilling and eating outside difficult and unpleasant). Gravel RV pad of many new sites full of grass and not very level - see photos. Sites share electric and water posts. New sites are not smoothly graded, watch for holes and rocks when walking in the high grass -- a trip hazard. Ground is not level at many sites so your picnic table may be an an angle. New section has no shade so we baked in the 90+ degree sun. Restroom/shower located in an old barn, not very attractive. Owner has a record keeping problem. He made several passes through camping area asking to see receipts during our stay. Woman checking us in was emphatic about reading and conforming to rules. Yet quiet hours (10pm to 8am) were not enforced. A few sites over from us music and very loud talking went on well past midnight. Owner seemed exclusively focused on serving the Airstream group parked in the older shady section. If you decide to visit the campground ask for site in old section but specify it must be level as many are not. All power posts are 50 amp so if you are 30 amp make sure you have a 50 to 30 adapter. Wifi is inadequate for even downloading emails when park is 2/3 full of RV's. Water pressure was good. Electric service was reliable. No fire pits at the sites. Some had new plastic picnic tables. List overnight rate was $44.00. We paid $40.00 with a Good Sam discount. This park is not a $40.00 park. This will be our last visit to White Acres. - Florida 55
Aug 2019 - $36.00
Easy access for large rigs. Entry road is asphalt. Campground roads are gravel as are sites. Based on some other reviews we read, my husband was asked to go into the office to register. The owner's daughter was helping in the office and she was friendly and helpful. The site initially assigned was grown over with grass so we were told to select any open site. The park has "buddy system" sites. Our site was relatively level. Based on the way the park is designed, some of the sites are a bit odd in that you have to pull in, then back out. There are back-in, pull-through, and pull-in sites in the park. There wasn't a designated pet area, but there's plenty of space to walk pets. Verizon service was practically non-existent, but the park wifi was good. We were able to get 11 OTA channels. If wind is blowing from the East, you can smell the faint scent of corn mash. - Guinness
Jun 2012 - $15.00
This lovely park is a hidden jewel convenient to Ft Knox. Sites are shaded with picnic tables available. The bathroom facilities are clean and new. The park is near a stream and is part of a public recreation complex that hosts baseball, soccer and other community events. There are active railroad tracks bordering the site and trains do roll through at night with horn but it didn't bother us. You pick your site and pay on the honor system at the city hall around the corner from the campground. The city hall has a huge parking lot. While we were here there was a family reunion and they had 40' and 35' Class A rigs that fit fine. There are walking trails and you are close to a gas station and the downtown if you need to walk to get some supplies. A WalMart is 10 minutes away. - BarbaraJohnson

I'm going to generalize and say few, if any sites here come close to being level. Pack plenty of blocks and boards. Our trailer tongue is almost on the ground, as are several others. Also, I'm not sure what length trailer is "ideal" for this park! For certain, any trailer over 25 feet will be a challenge to get backed in - depending on how long your tow vehicle is.. We spent 3 days watching huge 5th wheels backing around trees and other obstacles to get situated. We also watched trailer owners struggling to get parked. Be warned. The camp host came over to tell me my hose was split and leaking water all over...turned out my hose was fine but their backflow preventer was spraying a fine mist of water. Water pressure was very erratic in the morning and actually stopped flowing twice while I was in the shower this morning. My impression is this park needs to be overhauled, trees removed, and cleaned up. One other tip: the signage directing folks to the campground is horrendous - as in almost non-existent. Program your GPS for the golf course and not the park and you'll be ok. And try to avoid arriving during rush hour in Bardstown. - Alphonzo
Aug 2019 - $26.00
This is a very small, cramped place to stay. I found it almost impossible to get into the site. It was in a curve and on a hill, surrounded by trees. There was a good drop off on either side of the road as well. I had to reposition several times to get it in there and off of the neighbors fire pit. It is a wide and paved site, so that helped. However, we didn't see just how pitched and unlevel the site was until we unhooked. The bathroom was old and in need of an upgrade but functioned and was clean. The dump station is located right behind the bathroom and if there is someone there, it is difficult to get around it. AT&T worked well. We would probably stay again but not on this site! - LizabethC

I took a chance on a site that was described as "moderate" incline. It really wasn't too bad. A 2x12 under one side and lower the jack all the down (on a 6x6) and it was level. The back steps were about 10 off the ground at that point but I have 2 doors so just used the front door. Its is small but looks nice and well kept. The girl at the check in was really nice. I came in while she was at lunch so just went to the site. Once I saw her back I went over to see if I needed a parking permit. I was in spot #3, a pull through. The site itself was long enough for the trailer, but not with the truck hooked up. But the site is wide so I could park the truck off to the side of the trailer and still have plenty of space. You may need a lot leveling blocks. My site was not horrible but some are pretty steep other seem to be fairly level. - OldDude

Sep 2018 - $43.00
Upset with price charged for site with no picnic table, no fire pit, and wet area around elect hookup. $43 was way to much for a simple place to park for 1 night with electric and no other amenities. Will not be back, and want to spread the word about this poor situation. - Upset_camper
Oct 2015 - $30.00
Enjoyed a nice weekend here. Easy check-in as the host was there as we pulled into the campground. We were surprised that they did not take credit cards and there were no picnic tables or fire rings at the sites. The campground was clean and had well-kept level sites and nicely mowed grounds. It was quiet and very close to town and surrounding attractions. We will definitely return. - bkbeck
Jun 2015 - $25.00
We did not experience the problems the previous reviewers had. No barking dogs, no parties or excessive noise, cordial campground attendant ( led us to our site), and we had a level site with concrete "runners" for our tires and lastly, an excellent view of the lake out of our front window! We selected a water and electric site (50a) overlooking the lake. We had good Verizon cell service and MiFi (ours) and DirecTV satellite service. The park was well kept, no trashy campers and well maintained gravel roads-no potholes. We didn't use the restrooms or showers but found that the interiors could use a little painting around stalls and floors. The campground is well situated and close to downtown Bardstown and less than 2 miles from restaurants, groceries, etc. We most definitely will return here. Be aware there is not a sign in front of the campground but we were well aware that this was our destination because some RV's are visible from the road.
Perhaps the other reviewers were unlucky in theirs experience or perhaps there has been a revelation in a cleanup campaign in the park; however, in any event we definitely will return and encourage others to be positive while making their decision in stopping in this campground. We extended our stay to 4 days. - gatordan
