Aug 2018 - $45.00
Campground divided into two parts with the newer portion having pull- thru 30/50 amp full hookup (including cable) sites. Restrooms are in the older area and are outdated, dirty and may not even function properly. There are no restrooms in the new area. The laundry is locked and all the machines are disconnected and sitting in the middle of the room. At one time the Entertainment Center housed an old barn for country music aficionados and the 'Barn Dance' was the third longest-running country music radio show, nearly as popular as the Grand Old Opry. There is a new barn that houses occasional shows. While we were there, Chubby Checker gave a concert (we did not attend, it was sold out). Many of their concerts are sold out. There is a village housing many little shops (most of which are closed now) surrounding the Barn. It must have been a great place to visit when in its heyday. Not a bad place for an overnight and for show-goers. Good place to stay if you want to go to a concert. Little shopping, few restaurants nearby. Farmer's Market in Mount Vernon on Saturday morning. Would not return. - grandma0942

We stayed in the creek side area. It is no frills, but does have long level sites, and a picnic table at each. Ours was broken. Very easy in and out. No trees for shade and no amenities whatsoever. Not the park's fault but the electric to this whole area has gone out twice since we arrived for about 20 minutes each time. The staff was great and we had no trouble finding our site. There were about five RVs here (Wednesday) and we are spread out. I would rather have been by the creek with an empty site between each camper. There's a little shade over there. It's nice enough. We would stay here again if we need an overnight. - BethvanSteen

I am describing the old park. The new part is adjacent but we thought, when driving in, that it was part of the KOA so we ended up in the old part which is all 30 amp. We had our adaptor so were OK. Lots of shade available if you don't mind backing in to sites along the creek. We ended up in a pull through. (You can pick your own site early in the week - we arrived on Sunday about 5 pm so the park mostly empty in the old part.) The office is across the street and wasn't officially open with no one to talk to when we arrived so we just picked a site. The manager was driving around the park shortly after and he said we could stay so we set up and then he opened the office and registered us. The site was just barely long enough for our RV but the manager allowed us to use the adjacent site for parking our truck. Very good rates for PA Sunday thru Wednesday night. Those 4 nights cost less than the sum of Thursday and Friday nights combined! The rate I posted was an average of the amount we paid. The bathrooms were very old and badly in need of updating. They just didn't look clean to me but my husband thought they were fine...I avoided them. No laundry facilities - the washing machines were removed and laundry room locked. The park is very scenic and quiet in spite of proximity to I-75. Again, had we known of the new part (it was not explained when I made reservations even though I called twice), we would have known to stay in the new part. Overall a good place to stay Sunday thru Wednesday nights! - overogal

We stayed one night. We were assigned a site when we reserved but when we arrived it had been changed. We were led to an unlevel site in the trees with no line of sight for the satellite and poor wifi. We insisted on the site were initially assigned and were reluctantly given it even though the park was virtually empty. It was level, with good wifi and a clear line to the satellite. Positives is that the facilities were spotless. Negative is that the water pressure at our site was extremely low. - Geodoc
Jul 2018 - $54.00
We just stayed here for one night on the way to Tennessee to visit kids and had a pull-thru site. The sites are terrible. We have a dog and there was no where to let our dog out by our camper as it was a total dirt site. They had grass sites available but they weren't using them. The pull-thrus go in opposite directions every other one. Meaning your main door and patio area will face the neighbors main door and patio, giving you NO privacy. So sitting there in the morning drinking coffee watching my neighbor come out and do their thing. A little awkward. By far this has been one of my least favorite campgrounds. The sewer hook up was no where close to my sewer hookup on my camper, so I could either pull forward and block the road or dump at dump station, which I did. When we make the trip to Tennessee this year we will find a different campground for our stay over. - wesmac68
Jul 2018 - $52.00
This was an overnight stop. We've stayed at the Renfro Valley RV park several times (One of the earlier reviews apparently is for that park by mistake) This is a fairly good KOA. It IS on a hillside so the sites are not particularly level. People were friendly and the escort was also. For an overnight it was OK if a bit expensive. - Saltydog44

When calling for site availability, call the camp store. Sites are first come, first serve, unless making reservations online ahead of time. We were able to register after hours by selecting our site and putting a check in envelope in the mail slot. Our site was level, so no ramps required. We picked a sunny location, so the satellite worked. Water and electric at site, dump station on the road out. This convenient location in the Horse Park is off the beaten path so it feels secure, yet not far from the interstate. - Texas E-S
Oct 2018 - $45.00
I stayed here for a week with my dogs and cannot say enough good things. Grounds are immaculate, huge sites. Campground within walking distance to the horse park. I could've walked the dogs for hours there is so much open space. - gone to the dogs
Oct 2018 - $47.00
Nice large lots. Pads are not angled (and skinny), therefore can be a bit of a challenge to get in/out of. Some sites are not level at all, ours was level. No sewer hook ups, so plan accordingly. We had quite a bit of rain which caused the lots to be fairly muddy. The campground got very busy on the weekend. The horse park is really nice. - locatjl

We camp here a lot in the summer. All but 5 weekends were spent here. We love it. - Bbkkanderson
Oct 2018 - $45.00
Campsites are not level and were very muddy after several days of rain. Unfortunately I they allow people to leave rugs on the grass which kills the grass and this creates a muddy mess after a rain. This could be remedied by putting gravel in the patio areas. Utilities are ok, but water connections are shared and far away from each site. Park is celebrating Halloween the whole month of October and it is very noisy between the road traffic on the highway, cars, trucks and golf carts driving around the campground and lots of kids playing in the streets long after dark. - ForzaDude
Oct 2018 - $35.00
We stayed here while visiting friends in Richmond. The campsites are closer together than in any state park we have seen, also noisiest. Concrete factory and busy road with truck traffic nearby. Large unavoidable mud hole next to RV door. Water access is on the right, far off, and power on left. Site barely fit our RV and disconnected toad. On the good side staff are friendly and bathrooms are clean. Overall it feels like a city type KOA, not a state park. Bring lots of water hose, and earplugs if light sleeper. - rudyhehn

Super park the pull throughs are huge, The place is super quite. REMEMBER THIS call first and get the directions from the office your GPS will put you on a road that is a single lane, also if you have never been there before do not try to get in after dark. If you take your time you will have no issues if you follow your GPS the road is not RV friendly. Great place will be back - tazman1953
Sep 2018 - $40.00
The average RV park review is based on what the average person sees during an uneventful stay. But it's when things go awry that the park staff can make the difference between a good visit and bad weekend. During our stay, the 50 amp breaker at the hookup failed, leaving us with no power on a hot Labor-Day weekend. This is where things could have gone wrong in the average RV Park. After walking down to the office to report this, the manager dropped everything rushing down with parts and an electrician in tow to replace the bad breaker. The service here is phenomenal. I think it took longer to walk to the office than for him to make the repair. My home-town RV park could learn a few things from these folks. By the way, don't let the cautions of narrow winding roads spook you into skipping this wonderful park. If you've driven in hill country anywhere, you've seen this before. And, the owners actually schedule the departures and arrivals to avoid folks meeting on these roads. Since the rest of the stay was uneventful, all I can say is, the managers are warm and friendly. They make you feel like family from the moment you arrive. The park is clean and well manicured. Situated on the Kentucky river in a canyon with trees on all sides, this park is as beautiful as it is quiet. One of the best parks I've stayed in. - Heavy Hauler 0117
May 2018 - $40.00
DISCLAIMER- This is geared toward BIG rig owners! It's a long narrow road into a lovely campground on the banks of the Kentucky River. Even though the owners have widened the roads by 4' and the sites by 3' and just re-surfaced the sites, the turns are still tight for 45' motorhomes with tows. Our site was long enough to not disconnect the tow but we dropped the car at the office because they had so much rain the grass in between pads was saturated. Our rear wheels and tow wheels on driver's side still got very muddy making the turn in & out. We needed extra sewer hose & extra hose to reach water. As long as you are well aware & well prepared, this is a lovely campground. - monamonaco

If you are looking for lots of peace an quiet this is your place. Very friendly and helpful staff members. Small park way out in the country. Long and winding roads can be a little intimidating for a long rig. Most all spots are grass which wouldn't be an issue unless it rains...which it did. Not every spot had water and power together. Wifi is very weak to non existent on most days. Cell coverage with Sprint was zero..not even roaming. A little to far from town for me. - BNicholsWorth
Jun 2018 - $26.00
Very level site (no levelers on our 26' motorhome). Excellent hookups. Road in is paved, but narrow (not a problem for us, but may be for larger rig). Quiet, peaceful, very helpful staff. Rate reflects weekly rate. No laundry. - PatK

You are totally off the grid at this campground, no tv, cell or wifi. Your drive is through narrow, curvy roads. You think there is a mistake on your GPS and it appears on the right. Small park. The general store was not open during our stay. - Texas Gals

Looks like at one time it was a nice park, sadly run down and mostly 'permanent' residents now. Very nice staff, looks like they are doing what they can. - Kbtx
Jul 2014 - $25.00
We were here over the Fourth of July weekend so we tried to take that into consideration, but there were some things we couldn't overlook. First of all, the staff was wonderful and couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. They stopped by our site several times. Unfortunately the actual campground itself was in need of some desperate repairs. Across from our site was an old shower house (?) with a port-a-potty in front. The shower house was inoperable so the port-a-potty was the only bathroom for the 30+ people on our end of the camp site. In order to use a sink you had to walk all the way to the entrance. Our first night we were awoken at 11:00 by a chainsaw one of the other campers was using to cut their firewood and our next door neighbors were setting off mortar fireworks that were raining down on our RV. There were cars parked EVERYWHERE and the tent site below us kept driving their truck through our site and parking it next to our chairs. The second night wasn't quite as eventful. The woman next door was walking around without her pants on and they also had visitors so there were at least a dozen people crammed on one site. If you need a place to stay near Nicholasville then this is pretty much the only option, but I would try to stay somewhere else if possible. - coldwaterconch
May 2013 - $25.00
I hate to be totally negative so, the 50 amp service was good. Wi-Fi was okay, but charged for each day. Hookups on wrong side of RV. Park Very run down. Lots were part grass part large rocks. Lots of old, I mean, Old trailers. We had reserved 5 days, when checking in changed that to 2. After 1 night, we left, they did refund the 2nd day lot rental. Staff was friendly. Would not camp here again - dj4pres

Dec 2018 - $37.00
We've stayed here many times which is a good thing or we might never come back after this stay. Called to make a late reservation..was assigned a site far from bathhouse even though many sites were empty much nearer bath house. Always before we have been given sites near bath house...so now will know to request one. Gravel site so soft front jacks sank 4 inches or more into mud...a problem we have not encountered previously, nor were we warned it might be an issue. As others have stated..sites VERY close together, good water pressure, park clean and well maintained. (Despite repeated attempts unable to upload photo.) - knipp4la
Oct 2018 - $33.00
This is a beautiful park. Very well laid out and maintained. Many sites have a view of a pretty man made pond. Sites are packed gravel, but are only large enough for most RVs. There are, however vehicles parking areas convenient to most sites. The last section of the access road to the park north of I75 is very narrow, with no shoulders to speak of. (Sloped and muddy, which I wouldn't trust.) Not sure how two RVs would get past each other. Park wifi at our site was OK. At times slow, probably due to high demand during peak use hours. About average for RV parks Staff are very friendly and helpful. Clearly they take pride in this lovely park. Showers/washrooms are clean, modern, spacious, and heated. We did have trouble with water pressure in one shower, but the rest were fine. - nobghuri
Oct 2018 - $37.00
This is a fairly new RV Park. The utilities were excellent. WiFi strength was excellent. Water pressure is 72lbs so you best use a pressure regulator. Being new, there are very few trees. The grassy areas were well kept. Premium sites get a concrete pad for the four sided picnic table and a rocking Love seat. Everyone else get a plastic picnic table on gravel or grass. The pull through sites were close together. Only a few sites had fire rings. Only a few long term guests, the rest of the sites turned over fairly often. Some road noise from the freeway. The biggest issue is the road to the park. It is a very narrow country road with no shoulder. So in a big rig, if you meet on coming traffic, you have a problem. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay here and would stay again. - BBGuy

While this campground accomodates Big Rigs, it is borderline when full. Parking for tows and toads is at a premium and takes up space near the streets making turns difficult. Utilities are solid with decent Verizon signal. Our site had borderline satellite reception as there are many trees around. The park seems to be well maintained and has facilities that families would enjoy. - Pjoe

Nice park but sites are tiny; had only 4 feet between the back of our 45 ft fifth wheel and the neighbor behind. Could not park truck without being half way in road, very hard to get in and out of, other than that we enjoyed it! - TraeUrban

Little crowded, several permanent RVs there. Little loud after midnight. Had to pay $10.00 gate card deposit that you get back when leave. We left on Sunday Morning after 8:00 a.m. And no one was on duty to return card and retrieve the $10.00. I left card and my card asking to mail my $10.00, which they did. I also paid $10.00 extra for the pull thru lot, which was in a curve with lots behind you. - Sissy Wommack
Sep 2015 - $35.00
We stayed here for our visit to the wonderful Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill just 9 miles away. The park is well-maintained. It is on the cliffs over looking Lake Harrington, and crammed full of seasonal guests. We arrived late in the day and got a back-in spot that was a little short for our 30 feet, but we parked at an angle and were able to keep our nose off the road. There is a marina a short walk down the road. We swam our dog there. We were surprised to see the sign saying that the marina charges for launching kayaks and canoes as well as power boats. That area of Kentucky has mostly narrow windy roads, and the road into this campground is no exception. - ShoreXplorers
Sep 2009 - $30.00
This park is under new ownership and the new owners will be adding stronger Wi-Fi and cable TV next year. It's in the hills, on terraced sites and quiet. Lots of seasonals stay here as the marina is very close. A beautiful, man-made lake setting. Cell phone service is spotty due to the mountains. TV reception was good for our rig, as was the internet. If I lived closer I'd look into a seasonal site here. Nice place with friendly staff. We were here for a family reunion so spent several nights. - diamondg
