This little known secret is in the Red River Gorge area of Kentucky near Slade. They do not take reservations, so 1st come 1st served here. Great place to have the comfort of your camper bed, but be away from it all. Recommend the double sites for anything large than 20' camper. Hosts extremely helpful. No store, but host has ice and firewood for sale. - makinmemories

The campground was difficult to get into with a tight turn, steep drop and narrow bridge. We were unable to enter or leave the campground without blocking under the rear wheels of the motorhome (2002 34' Georgie Boy - Ford Chassis) to keep from dragging the rear. There is only one site that has 50 amp service, the rest are 15 amp. The campground is not maintained as shown in the pictures on the web site and the angles hide the commercial cable company that seems to be located in the campground with their work trucks and equipment. The staff was friendly and helpful. I will not stay here again. - P12

This State Park campground was quite pleasant for us. We camped next to a stream which our 7 year old grandson enjoyed playing in and fishing (3 - 4 inch fish) but fun for him. We were in the B section which at least one person was irritated with because she had reservations there but found out she could not make the turn/hill to get into that section. To back into the site so my awning was on the fire ring and picnic table side, I needed a 35' electric cord. Likewise a 35' water hose. The park is quiet, the roads in the campground are paved which meant many little kids riding their bikes around. All in all an enjoyable stay. There are some negatives you should know about though as they may be important to you: 1) There is only one bath/toilet facility but despite the number of campers, it did not seem crowded; 2) there is only one dumpster located inconveniently; and 3) most important of all is that many of the sites have the electric posts and water spigots on the wrong side so that longer than normal cords/hoses are required. There are no sewers but there is one dump station just outside the campground. - Zim
Jun 2018 - $29.00
Small campground with very clean restrooms and well-kept grounds. Tight turns and closely spaced sites, but very scenic with stream running through the campground. Noisy due to road traffic during the day, but quiet at night. We moved to a different site since we couldn't fit in #21 without unhitching. However, the new site was only 30 amp, so we ended up having to move again. Located across the road from Mill Creek Lake. Beautiful park with a stream, lake, and pool. Fantastic scenery! You can hike (uphill) to the natural bridge, or you can ride the skylift to it. Red River Gorge is nearby where you can hike to several more arches. Sky Bridge was fairly easy trail half an hour from park. However, you should NOT drive the scenic byway in a large vehicle or towing because of narrow tunnel and winding road. - TXcampermom
May 2017 - $35.00
Coming to this park is more about the natural surroundings than the park amenities. Fees have been rising quickly due to high demand, but there is no evidence that those fees are being used to improve anything in the campgrounds. Restrooms are kept fairly clean but are old. Really old and tired. The dump station is a weird configuration that requires you to stop facing the wrong way on the entry road. Be careful if you are leaving on a Friday. If you like hiking or rock climbing this is a great area, and this park is close to most of it.
Site had a street light shining into it. Ugh. - JessJosh61

Couldn't figure out their pricing. Got 10% for senior, but added $6.00 "walk in fee", total was $31.50. Nice, but small campground with very few sites and most were reserved. Nice clean campground with no wifi nor cell service. The Natural Tunnel was quite a walk, but worth it. Would not stay as a destination but nice for a night over. - garmp
May 2016 - $30.00
The campground is small and tight so if you have a large rig it can be a challenge to squeeze it in. But, the park is situated in a beautiful mountain setting next to The Natural Bridge and minutes from the Red River Gorge. The Gorge is ranked as the number one or number two rock climbing place in the world. So, for rock climbers, this is the place. Great staff, fantastic Park Rangers and dont forget to visit the Lodge for great dining and Maguels Pizza Climb shop. - Jeffyork40

This was the more rustic of the two campgrounds at this state park, which is why we chose it. There were two other travel trailers here when we arrived, and some tent campers near the entrance. We chose one of the sites toward the back for its solitude. There's a stream that meanders through the campground providing nice white noise during the night. There is also a hiking trail at the end of the campground that we wish we had more time to explore. The one lane road through the campground makes backing into the sites a bit of a challenge, but once you're set up it's totally worth it. - Marsha D

Arrived and found some one to be parked in the pull thru site we had reserved. After going into the office the lady in side checked the reservation and moved us to the site next to the original one. Campground is very clean and neat. The only minor problem we encountered was the fact that the only dumpster was back at the entrance. Park had a nice pool and also a small pond for fishing. Very close to the Natural Bridge state park. The only negative I could find was the lack of shade. When temps hit 90+ and the humidity is at 70%, I would have liked to have more shade than my awning provides. All in all this is a clean and neat campground and close enough to home to make a nice quick get away. I will definitely return. We camped at 4 Guys RV in a travel trailer. - Pappi
May 2018 - $39.00
The setting! Site 41 was so serene with a view of the hills across the pond. We were greeted by one of the owners who was very attentive. The site was level on pea gravel as were the drives. Well kept landscaping while keeping a more natural setting. Wifi was excellent. The location is ideal to short drives to several natural sites, hiking is great. - RchnSue
Jun 2017 - $39.00
Sites are not too crowded. Roads and sites are gravel but, we believe that is because it's very new. They made the gravel on each site wide so you are never in the mud. Nice pool, nice owners, and nice fishing pond. All sites are full hookup! We stayed there during the week and it was extremely quiet in the evening and not noisy during the day either. We would highly recommend this campground. - Hillsboro Camper

Beautiful campground back in the Kentucky hills. Caters to the climbers coming to the area to climb. We stayed here just one night. The RV sites are pull through but tricky to get in/out off. Bathrooms/showers were good. Make sure you walk around the lake. Chatted quite a bit with host, a very nice person. - The GeoDrop

We stayed at Lago Linda's for about 5 weeks while rock climbing at the Red River Gorge. The owner (Linda Black) gave us a discount rate for our extended stay. This really isn't much of an RV park, but it can accommodate small trailers and class C. The access road is essentially a driveway and the campsites are tight. We stayed here in a 34' 5th wheel and just were able to get into the site. The site was definitely long enough. The dump station is only accessible using a portable holding tank. It is a beautiful location, but does need some maintenance. The bathrooms and showers didn't get cleaned on the weekend. This does seem a bit odd as it is the busiest time. I think there was to be someone cleaning, but I don't think it got done. There is a weekday housekeeper who does an excellent job. This park is primarily used by rock climbers who are in the area to climb and it is very busy on the weekends. I hiked a couple of the trails with our dogs and had to do a bit of bush whacking because they hadn't been cleared since last winter. The Wi-Fi was down for much of our stay here. For weekenders this may not be much of an issue, but since we stayed long term, it was very frustrating. Lago Linda Hideaway also rents cabins and has plenty of tent camping space. We would probably stay here again but mostly because the choices in the area are limited. - peg513
Jun 2009 - $25.00
The campground is about 30 minutes south of the Natural Bridge SP, down narrow winding roads. Sites are small and dotted with trees. There isn't a view from the campground, although the website states it is nestled on a ridge. Trails were overrun, so we couldn't use them. We couldn't find the canoe, and the paddle boat was filled with stagnant water so we couldn't use those as offered, either. There is a very small bathroom with two bath stalls and one shower. Clean, but dated. No store or playground. Wi-fi worked intermittantly. Nearest town for food was Beattyville, about 20 minutes away. A stray dog and cat kept close to our site begging for food; a little concerning with children. We would not stay here again, but instead, would choose the campground at the SP. - bbcaao

This is a primitive campground so don't expect luxury. There is water available in each loop. The sites are large, level and gravel with paved roads. What you loose in luxury you gain in being beauty and raw nature. This campground is used heavily during hunting season and during holidays. Other times, especially early spring and late fall before hunting season, it can be nearly empty. So fill your holding tank, crank up the generator and relax with privacy and peace and quiet. - Glenn & Becky Puckett

Stayed here for one night on our way through Kentucky. I'm so happy we found this place! Amazing, huge, quiet, secluded sites. Beautiful lake area with a beach and swimming. We stayed in a 32' class c at site H5. The staff was amazing and the place was exceptionally clean! - Lisa H
May 2018 - $23.00
There are 10 loops, many have no electricity at all. We stayed in H, with electricity. Water is between sites, although a few sites throughout the park have water and electric on site. Be prepared with water jugs, or lengthy hose to fill your water tank. The water available is shown on the park map, scattered throughout the park. We are in a pop up camper and were fine walking to the water faucet to fill our 8 gal water jug. The staff was very friendly, and worked hard at keeping the sites in order and restrooms clean. - PaJa

Out of 160 sites, only 18 or 20 currently have electricity. The park is managed by Thousand Trails, and one of the hosts said that next season more electrical sites will be available. It is a good road leading to Zilpo. Lots of sites are on the water. It is a beautiful park, very clean. The restrooms did not have showers on loop D where we were, but a sign on the door indicated were the showers were located in other loops.other than the Canadian geese and boats, there was little noise. The lake was low during our stay due to some dock construction, but that did not deter the fishermen. We loved the place and look forward to going again. Many little cabins are available to rent, so it would be a nice gathering place to include family members who do not "camp". There is a spacious beach for the campers. - Doxie Mom
Jul 2014 - $16.00
Relatively long drive (19 miles) from Salt Lick to the campground, very curvy, narrow road, but great on a motorcycle. Friendly, courteous staff; clean facilities; sites well separated; water view(not all) but ours was; all rest rooms do not contain showers, but each loop does contain a shower house as well as a rest room. Very quiet. Small store stocked with a few essentials. Our rate was $16 nightly with Golden Age Pass. Had no issues with ticks or mosquitoes, but was hot and humid, as should be expected for mid-July. Would definitely stay here again. - mailman01
Sep 2008 - $31.00
We love this campground! We started camping here in a tent years ago and now in our travel trailer. The camp hosts are very nice and helpful. The sites are gravel and very large. Trees completely surround you giving lots of privacy. We will camp here again and again. I would have a rated Zilpo a 10 if water sites were available. - User578
