Quiet and secluded on top of a mountain. Loved it. The back loop would be great if you don't have neighbors but they are close. The rest of the sites seemed spacious enough. Had to tie down the handle on the water to keep it on. Road in is windy and narrow but doable. There was a motorhome in the host spot but we never saw anyone. Lots to do in the area. Check out the old Blue Heron mining camp. Overall a great place to relax. - GoWhereYouWantToGo

The last time we stayed here was 10 years ago. We were glad to be back. Little had changed which is mostly good. The shower house could definitely use a makeover but they were all working and we really had no issues. We did have an issue with those #$%^&* National Park water spigots. Ours had a bad anti-siphon valve and we would not have been able to use it except there was a NP maintenance dude stopped at the host site and we walked over there. He immediately came to our site and proceeded to change out the faulty valve twice before he managed to get one that worked for us. As mentioned in other reviews you very likely will need a bungee cord or heavy zip tie to hold the water handle in the on position. The picnic tables and fire rings were new. The site was level and we had a wonderful early Fall camp and hiking experience. We'll be back. - KyDan

Stayed here in our 21' Travel Trailer and this place was about what we expected. It is very out of the way, in the amazingly large and beautiful Big South Fork National River Recreational Area. This is one of the two main NPS campgrounds in the area and it is more out of the way and I suspect a little less maintained.
As other reviewers have stated, the facilities are a little older and in need of some TLC. Also, many of the sites don't have a lot of shade. The park was fairly full as we were there on a weekend, though no problems with noise. We reserved online and there was a sign on our site with our name saying reserved when we arrived. We got there late in the day and were there two days and never interacted with staff or camp hosts.
We did have a small issue with our 30amp breaker tripping with AC running when my wife microwaved something. We haven't ever had this issue before, so I'm not sure if there was an issue with our site's power. Site's water spigot didn't want to stay on even with the diverter pulled down. Used a bungee cord wrapped around the handle to keep the water flowing.
Overall, we would stay here again as it is cheap and in a beautiful area, this park could become a real gem with a little love. - sjeuck
Oct 2017 - $30.00
We have a 24 foot van and these are extremely small spaces length wise. Width wasn't so bad in the space and it is nice in the forest but so surprised how small and very little space to back your RV in to spot. - Scooterd16
Jun 2017 - $34.00
Originally had site # RV23, Arrived to a packed campground, unable to back into our site and had to be moved to a "walk up" site. Park is old. Sites are very very small cannot even fit a 20FT TT. Sites are very uneven. The area attraction itself is not taken care of. Cumberland Falls is the area attraction and there is trash everywhere you look. I would look elsewhere for a spot to stay. The staff are friendly enough for a state park but this place needs updated or put on the map as a tent location ONLY. No RV should have to squeeze in here. - jonk90
Sep 2016 - $30.00
Sites very close and very small. Water and electric hookups while there, are between 50 and 75 feet from pad. We have a 24.5' 5vr - and the 30' pad really was 21', and the back end of the trailer would've been left hanging and unsupported over the cliff. Perhaps a great site for very small TT, popups and tent camping - but not suitable, at all for other than that. Great camp hosts and friendly folks. - KB Farms
Sep 2018 - $35.00
Be aware once water park closes for season, this place is deserted, so much so that I was a little concerned about leaving our trailer unattended (but no problems). Other than one employee at check-in, we never saw another staff person (though bathrooms remained very clean and well attended so we may have just missed them). There was debris on site next to us for all 4 nights we stayed there so don't think anyone regularly goes around to check out the campground. Bugs were more than awful and when we had a large rain storm we figured out why...drainage is very poor and takes hours to drain off and ground was soggy even the next day. Maybe during water park season it is more well attended. Pluses - large concrete pad and level gravel sites. Cable was mostly analog and very grainy but I won't know till next camping trip if it was our set or the campground. Very close to eateries and Walmart and interstate. NO shade at all, mostly a parking lot. - Kim Teems
May 2018 - $35.00
Small campground but very nice, level, gravel sites. Camped during the off season of the water park so it was not full, but I imagine it is full during the summer months when the water park is open. All back in sites except for 1 pull through site. Made reservations online but then switched sites when we arrived to a site that had a better stream view. Fairly peaceful and quiet. - ForzaDude
Aug 2017 - $35.00
Rather than repeat what we have previously said, please see our earlier review of this campground July, 2015. Since this campground is small, only about 18 sites, during the summer months (June-August) you should plan on making a reservation as far ahead as possible as they fill up on weekends. The campground has recently added a really nice bath house adjacent to the campground, rather than having to go over to the water park facilities as in the past. Also, there is a full time campground host, an employee of the water park, on site. If you use satellite service we suggest that you review the park layout on Google Maps to select an appropriate site as there are very large/tall trees along the southern end of the campground. We really enjoy the spacious sites, peace and quiet and accommodating host, at this small park and will certainly plan on another stop over on our next trip up the nearby I-75 corridor. - Johnson's
Jul 2019 - $35.00
Sewer now available at all sites since last year. But, you may want to take extra sewer hose as hookup not always as close as it should be. Park is always full on holidays, make reservations early. We have been here at least once a year for past 15 years. Facilities maintenance varies year to year. This was a good year. Jellico is a small town. 1 grocery store, 1 dollar store, a few gas stations and an excellent general hardware store. - Ed Baldwin
Jun 2019 - $32.00
This is our favorite park to camp in, the grounds are always in great condition. They had a lot of rain and the sites were muddy, the inner circle is hard to park in with a big rig. One of the campers in our party had an electrical problem, the staff was able to help them out. I would normally give this park a 10 but since the site we were in had tire trenches from previous campers it was excellent. The park should consider putting down some gravel to make the sites wider towards the road. We have already booked our next visit with them but will move back to be along the lake as always before. - Stu & Gerri
Jun 2019 - $32.00
Splendid little state park! New concrete pads, super level. Lovely lake in the center with paddle boats for rent. Not sure if swimming is allowed? Used as an overnight stop. Easy access from I-75, right on the KY-TN border. - Flying Mantis
Sep 2006 - $22.00
Campsites are not level and are grass and dirt. The setting is very nice - the lake was pretty low when we were there. The staff is very nice. There is a playground for kids. This would be a nice destination park for kids and families visiting Cumberland Falls State Park. - Bearpup

We were only going to stay a week but decided to stay 2 weeks! This is such a well kept and beautiful park. So quiet and peaceful! Bathrooms and showers are kept very clean! Staff and hosts are very kind! - Smiles5254

We got to campground for a 3 day stay. The road going to the campground from Oneida was interesting to say the least. It wasn't hard, but extreme curves and steep up/down hills. That being said, the campground was worth it in my opinion. Upon arrival and check-in at the ranger station gate, he gave us layout of campground and told us about visitor center across the road. It has multiple loops. It is a fairly good size campground that a larger rv/camper could maneuver in.Loop A is tents(no elect/water on sites),Loop B-D is rv/tents (elect/water), and Loop E is group camping only. We stayed in Loop C 13, which we liked a lot. Honestly, we didn't see any sites that were bad. Most sites were shaded fairly well and a decent amount of room from one another. The sites that were shorter in length had wider concrete pads so you park vehicle next to camper, unlike longer sites that you could park vehicle in front of camper. The wash houses were clean and well maintained, but a little older. There was one sewage dump station on site and was easy to use. They had a seasonal pool, volleyball court, and numerous playgrounds throughout the campground. If you are into hiking and/or horseback riding this campground is for you. They had stables across the street with a camp store also, but the store is only opened certain days of week. We hiked every day we were there and never came close to hiking all trails around it..Overall, We will would stay there again and plan too. - kycamper02
Aug 2018 - $13.00
Excellent park for both tents (loop A) and RV's (loops B-D). Swimming pool in park, but we did not use. Mostly covered forest, but some sites get more sun than others. We had some direct sun in the afternoon. The park visitor center is close with a very small camp store nearby, too. They have ice and soft drinks, but not much else. Huge motorhomes may be challenged getting to the campground from the east (hairpin turns), but from the west should be no problem. Beautiful natural area with lots of trails (arches, view of Angel Falls) and access to the Big Fork River at the Leatherwood Ford area for swimming and kayaking. Stairs and wooden walkways have been installed for walking close to the river. - bmiller-photo

Third time visiting. This is not a destination campground unless your into off road 4x4's and ATV's. The sites are a simple layout at best with little room on 11ft wide gravel sites. Make sure to use your jack pads and expect concerns if you get heavy rains and driving a big rig. Most GPS's send you to the wrong exit off I-75, take exit 144 and follow signs. The campground has potential but the prices are not supported, unless your bringing your 4x4 and want trail access from the campground, then its priceless. - Mullet Republic LLC
May 2009 - $45.00
We like to ride ATV's, so this campground was perfect. Over 120,000 acres of trails!! The campground is all ATV riders, most campers were in modified cargo trailers (poor boy toy haulers) The campground was neat and clean, we had full hook ups. They also had a buffet style breakfast and dinners (it was pretty good and cheap). We plan on going back for some more fun. - kjclark
Jul 2018 - $40.00
Roads can be a little tight for big rigs. Roads and sites are rock. Sites tend to be a little unlevel. Water pressure low. Best we had was 35 psi. Plenty of grassy areas for dogs. Right next to road so some road noise during day. We thought it was a little expensive for what you get. - Ruffles
Jul 2015 - $40.00
Nice size for big rigs. Close to the Cumberland Falls. White water rafting trip is very easy for all ages, it's no where near the rides I've taken on other rivers. Very nice area just to drive around and hike the many trails in the park. We also did the horseback tour next door through the woods and had some great views and photo ops.
Only pull through sites have full hookup, but there is a dump station by the office for the rest of the sites the are water and electric only. Same owner here since 1985. - Oceanblue
Jun 2012 - $30.00
The RV sites are very basic. This is a hikers or white water rafting paradise. They have recently added RV facilities and these will get better. They offer shuttle service to the various hiking locations. It is the best place to stop if you have a big rig and want to visit Cumberland Falls State park as the park is not "Big" rig friendly. Shade is limited and sites are gravel. - A hitch and hop
Feb 2010 - $20.00
As far as an RV park, the facility is not that great, actually probably the worst I've visited. Many if not most of the hookups are on the wrong side of the sites (as is the dump station). One site I looked at had the water hookup at least 30' from the gravel pad, on the opposite side of the picnic area. Many sites are extremely small and extremely slanted. I have a very small (16') camper, and I still don't think I could have leveled it on some of these sites without lifting both tires off the ground. Fortunately it was very cold when I was there, so I had the place to myself and was able to pick the best site. All that being said, there's a lot to recommend this park. The bathhouse was clean and well-maintained. The campground is on a hilltop, with pretty nice views if sparse shade. The lake and cabin area are a short walk from the campground. There's an unusual, interesting bat tower and playground inside main campground loop. Trail access from the campground is excellent, and the trail system is outstanding. If I were rating the park exclusive of the campground, I'd give it a 9 or 10. - Groenlo
Sep 2007 - $13.00
We took a 32' Motorhome and found a couple of sites we could use. However, they recommend no more than 25'. This park has hiking trails that are beautiful and a nice pool, within walking distance. The park people are very helpful. - morrison
