Had an ice storm during which big oak limbs fell on my camper and truck. When I questioned about a tree service as big limbs were still hanging overhead I was told no tree service and every other word was F word. Was very dangerous with limbs overhead. 1/3 of public road into park was washed out also. Initial check-in was cordial enough and site was easy to pull into. - Srosscpa

Out of all the campsites that we have stayed at, we have never been treated with such hospitable, caring and generous treatment as we received from the owners and their family. When Enterprise did not deliver the rental car we had ordered, we were going to be forced to unhook everything from our Class A motor home to use it, and then rehook it when we came back. It is a big inconvenience to keep doing this. Instead, the owner volunteered not once, but three times to take us into town so we would not have to go through this. All of the members of this wonderful family bent over backwards to make our stay as pleasant and enjoyable as they could. I would never, ever consider staying at another campsite when going to Williamstown to see Noah's Ark. If you need to know the true meaning of Southern Hospitality, this family is it! We are forever grateful to them for all that they did. Other park owners should stay there and learn how to treat their guests. - The 5 Amigos

Stayed here in a class C with tow vehicle for two nights. Many long term campers. Only 6 pull thru overnight spots. Spots close together. Full service. Check in personnel pleasant. Long term campers visually very close. Pet area large and close by. Not a place I would choose for longer stay but adequate for our two night stay. - Little Red River Rat

The good, FHU sites. Close to the event we were attending. The bad: Located with railroad tracks on one side and Interstate on the other side. Heavily treed, no satellite at all. Many sites are better suited for campers and 5th wheels, instead og 40 Ft DP. This is do to leveling. This campground in my opinion is no longer used for a camping destination spot, but over-night and workers in the area. - Gatorcq
Aug 2018 - $29.00
Without a doubt, one of the noisiest parks I've stayed at in 11 years of traveling. Freeway noise is not uncommon, but the trains were terrible with one every half hour - 200 feet from our site. There is a crossing very close. Excruciating train whistle for those with hearing aids. Even with both a/cs running, the train whistle was excruciatingly loud. Park was clean, staff was friendly and helpful. Definitely will NOT stay here again! - davedopp
Jul 2018 - $32.00
This is one of our favorite parks. We do not agree with the previously posted negative reviews. Yes, there is some traffic noise, but we did not find it to be excessive and it was almost completely drowned out by the white noise of our air conditioner. We enjoyed sitting outside of our trailer and reading. It is quite peaceful. The trains during the day are loud, but we didn't hear any at night (maybe we slept through them, or maybe the schedules have changed since the negative reviews were posted). The park is beautiful with many mature trees. It has a KOA feel to it and we were told that it was the second KOA in the USA. However, it is now independent, and it is cheaper than any similar KOA we've ever stayed at. The management are very friendly and the utilities all worked fine. We stayed a day longer than we had originally planned, and we would certainly return to this park and recommend it to our friends. - John A Guderian

Looked a bit schetchy driving in! New owners. The roads are gravel and narrow, but large rigs navigated to space. We are staying only 1 night, so it fit the need. Not a lot of options in this area unfortunately. - Edwards-JV
Jun 2018 - $36.00
We made reservations before our trip and were met by the owner when we arrived. She walked us to our site and helped us park. She explained everything about the area and park. We were very happy with the accommodations with air conditioned, very clean restrooms and showers. Quiet area to camp even though the park was full with RVs and tent campers. Each site has picnic table and fire ring and you can purchase firewood for $5.00 that is delivered to your site by the owner. We were there to visit The Ark which is approx 15 miles from the campground. Easy access from the interstate. Would stay at Three Springs if traveling though that area again!! Thank you to the wonderful owners for all you did to make our stay relaxed and comfortable!! - D Moore

The park was all back in on gravel being mostly level. The sites were a little close, but not too bad. The owners were very friendly and helpful. One traveler had an axle that had gotten bent pretty badly on his TT. The owner got a new axle and repaired it for him so he could get back on the road to go home. In my opinion, he went far beyond what a person could have done. I could only get wifi at the office. There were several bikers tenting there. - 1dinky

Jun 2018 - $36.00
Online reviews of this park were really good, so I was glad she could fit us in for the weekend. When we arrived we had to pull up to the office to register and there is really no parking lot. Our site was behind us on the narrow road so we had to take their turnaround circle which is a little tight for a 42 ft fifth wheel. When we got to the site we found for that price we had no sewer hookups so if we wanted to dump we would have to go through the turnaround again! Music was going late into the night Saturday, til about midnight. Sites were tight, very close together, so close that when someone pulled in next to us it killed our dish TV. No room to swing a big rig when park is full, which it was both nights we were there. We were thinking we were going to have to try to back out, but found out our neighbors on both sides are also pulling out tomorrow. Also the site was just long enough for our RV and we had to park our truck on a lot about 150 feet away. They had cable but only 9 channels, most local so we weren't at all interested. People were very nice and considerate and the great thing is the Ark Encounter is only 19 miles away! Many full timers back in the park but they save the front for those of us who come and go. This place is surrounded by woods and many sites back up to the creek so that's nice. - overogal
May 2018 - $27.00
This park has a lot of full time RVers. But with that being said, they have a transient section with only 19 sites, of those 15 are W/E/50 amp and 4 are W/E/30 amp, and all 19 do not have sewer. With that few sites, you have to make reservation early. I made reservation on April 7th, for a site on May 30th, and all the 50 amp were reserved by the end of March. I did manage to get a 30 amp site and was really happy. All the sites that they have are all back-in. This park is clean and friendly. It is 17 miles from the Ark Encounter. They are opened all year round. We have a 45' coach and were able to maneuver the campground road and back in our site. We would use this park again, if we pass through this area. Just make reservation EARLY. The showers were clean with 4 stalls. The showers have tile floor and 3/4 the way up the wall. - Honeybear & Sugarbear
May 2018 - $35.00
Unfriendly service! When you check in they take your money & then give you a map and you are on your own to find your site and manage to get backed in. The sites are mostly short and narrow back ins. The sites are narrow that we had to step out into the mud after a rain. Had to pull the truck & trailer out of the site to even get into it without walking through mud. 50 amp service was good. Poor cable & no WiFi service. Site was not mowed and was unkept. Long term renters are located in the back of park. Short term are crowded together in the front of the park. Thankful it was only for 1 night. - Texan58

Jun 2017 - $24.00
This is a lovely park but getting to it is stressful at best. I would have given this park an 8 or 9 except for the road getting to it. The road is somewhat skinny with no shoulders and anywhere from a few inches to a foot or more of drop off on the edge. There are overhanging trees almost the entire way up 159 that are worrisome. Once in the park you realize right away that it was designed by a non-RV person. The layout is not conducive to backing in to sites. All that being said we had a lovely spot (150' back up with a double dog-leg) that was wooded and private. The sites that we saw (and ours) are NOT level. Bring lots of leveling blocks. The bath-house I used was not dirty, but not clean. Spider webs on the outside and needs some work. I know it sounds all negative, but it really is a nice place. Just keep all this things in mind if you go there. Very weak Verizon cell service, no cable but good OTA TV, no WiFi. Good water. - jomark
Jul 2014 - $24.00
We stayed here over 4th of July weekend and was a little disappointed on our campsite. It was shaded, but sites in our area were right on top of each other. Sites towards front of campground were spaced apart more as were sites located by tent camping area. However you have to be cautious on sites because a lot were uneven and smaller. We had a 21' and was tight getting into our site. It was packed of course, but was surprised to see how quiet it was. That was nice to have. As for things to do it was good. There was 2 trails to hike, but only 2.25 total. The swimming pool was nice and the smaller but nice lake had boats for rental also. There was plenty of family activities to do i.e. volleyball, miniature golf, basketball, tennis, hiking, paddle boat rental, swimming, and hiking to name some. We liked it overall and would stay again, just in a different site. - kycamper02
Jul 2011 - $20.00
Very beautiful and clean pool. However, the sites are very crowded. We camped right beside the playground: MISTAKE!!! It was not too bad mid-week but on Friday night & Saturday everything was packed, bathrooms, etc., kids for days. Does not appear to be restrictions on the number of people camping at a site. We enjoyed our stay, but will not go back. - johnjoseph

Site #61 is a back in and was too steep to level trailer. Host helped us move to site #19 which worked. Sites on top are ok.Sites off Ridge are short and hard to level up. This a very beautiful park . - NE Travelers

Stayed at Big Bone Lick as a base camp to attend the Quaker State 400 in nearby Sparta, KY. The girls stayed back at the park and enjoyed the clean swimming pool. Site 11 was level but did require 75 foot of water hose to reach the spigot. Bathrooms were clean and showers as well. This park is at least 10 miles from any gas, restaurants or shopping so bring what you need. - kbot
Jun 2018 - $25.00
Decent state camping park. Sites are not very level. You will need at least two or possibly three water hoses here. Showers dated but acceptable. Small store sells ice and other items. Mini golf is also available as well as a swimming pool. Very nice setting. - sjwake

Jun 2018 - $25.00
Absolutely beautiful setting for this large recreational park on the lake. It depends on what you are going there for (fishing, riding, camping) but our experience as a CAMPER was not our favorite. Rolling hills make it very difficult to find a spot on level ground; even many tents looked tilted on the slope. A majority of the narrow paved pads are sloped and are placed at challenging-to-access angles. The (only) "bathhouse" is located up on the hill, and was a good 4-5 minute walk from our campsite, and we were at one of the closest "improved" sites. Most people drove their cars to get there. Relatively clean, but only tolerable, as far as facilities are concerned: 3 toilets, 2 sinks, and one large ugly shower with a broken handicapped seat and water that drained poorly on an uneven floor. AJ Jolly is a beautiful place, but for camping itself, it was not much more than adequate. - LooziAnna
Nov 2014 - $35.00
Stayed in the equestrian campground due to size of camper (35 ft.) but did not have horse. Large level gravel space with water and electric. Lake was short distance from site so easy access with kayaks. Road bikes around park without any issues. Very peaceful and quiet setting. Fishing, golf course and wonderful environmental education center on site. Local winery very short distance away. - NKyCampers
May 2014 - $20.00
This was our first trip in our RV. This park is very poor. The park is not clean, They have 26 "Improved electric" sites available. The sites are very small - almost too small for a pop-up camper. They are basically small uneven pads on a hill close to the lake. Would be good for a tent but not for any type of camper. The park is gate controlled and if you have visitors they must pay for the vehicle to be on the grounds. There was a boat race on the lake the weekend that we camped. It was very loud and could be dangerous. I made reservations but was not notified of this high speed boat race. The boats started very early and went on into the evening. Park was staffed with what appeared to be high school kids that did not care. - depguy

Jul 2016 - $30.00
Stayed here as an over night stop an a recent trip. Only had electric hookup. Dump station and water available. Deep, wet grass. Area needed mowing real bad. When I made my reservations I was quoted $30, but when I arrived I found that since it was race weekend, the rate was $75. They finally accepted the $30 rate I was quoted.
The camp sites are basically electric hook ups in a cow pasture. I had to use 4wheel drive on my truck when pulling out the next morning because my tires were spinning on the wet grass. - arkansasmel
Jul 2015 - $30.00
This is basically a cow pasture turned into a campground. If you have a large RV it is not the place to stay. Also it is right across the street from the main railroad between Louisville and Cincinnati. Trains run all night and there is a crossing there so they blow the whistle 3 times. No sleep! There is only electric at each site so IMO it is overpriced. Sites are all tall grass, so pray it doesn't rain or you're stuck. Will not stay again, will boondock before staying there. - Ljbtn
May 2015 - $30.00
Sparta Campground! Our 2nd time back! The owners are two of the loveliest people we have met in our lifetime! We stayed on Snob Knob (due to a little oversight on the owner's part). It was a quick switch to a different site & we had a wonderful couple nights with electric & water hook-ups! The train is loud and can wake you up, that is for sure (but it is dark & quiet down in that valley at night, otherwise). The property that the campground is situated on is an old tobacco farm & in MY opinion, it is simply gorgeous!! The hills that roll up around the campsites are covered with tall trees & it is the country AT its BEST!! We loved this short trip to Kentucky & our black lab had another fun time! Thanks again to the owners & their gracious southern hospitality! - patti&charlie

Dec 2018 - $37.00
We've stayed here many times which is a good thing or we might never come back after this stay. Called to make a late reservation..was assigned a site far from bathhouse even though many sites were empty much nearer bath house. Always before we have been given sites near bath house...so now will know to request one. Gravel site so soft front jacks sank 4 inches or more into mud...a problem we have not encountered previously, nor were we warned it might be an issue. As others have stated..sites VERY close together, good water pressure, park clean and well maintained. (Despite repeated attempts unable to upload photo.) - knipp4la
Oct 2018 - $33.00
This is a beautiful park. Very well laid out and maintained. Many sites have a view of a pretty man made pond. Sites are packed gravel, but are only large enough for most RVs. There are, however vehicles parking areas convenient to most sites. The last section of the access road to the park north of I75 is very narrow, with no shoulders to speak of. (Sloped and muddy, which I wouldn't trust.) Not sure how two RVs would get past each other. Park wifi at our site was OK. At times slow, probably due to high demand during peak use hours. About average for RV parks Staff are very friendly and helpful. Clearly they take pride in this lovely park. Showers/washrooms are clean, modern, spacious, and heated. We did have trouble with water pressure in one shower, but the rest were fine. - nobghuri
Oct 2018 - $37.00
This is a fairly new RV Park. The utilities were excellent. WiFi strength was excellent. Water pressure is 72lbs so you best use a pressure regulator. Being new, there are very few trees. The grassy areas were well kept. Premium sites get a concrete pad for the four sided picnic table and a rocking Love seat. Everyone else get a plastic picnic table on gravel or grass. The pull through sites were close together. Only a few sites had fire rings. Only a few long term guests, the rest of the sites turned over fairly often. Some road noise from the freeway. The biggest issue is the road to the park. It is a very narrow country road with no shoulder. So in a big rig, if you meet on coming traffic, you have a problem. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay here and would stay again. - BBGuy

Nov 2010 - $25.00
This park is about 15 miles off of I-71. It is on a winding dangerous one lane country road with many sharp twists and turns. A truly nerve racking drive after several hours on the highway. When we arrived at 6 PM there was no one around. Some sites were closed down for the winter. We had to search for one with water. Store/reception run down. The nicest thing about this campground was the signs directing to the park. Once there it was down hill fast. I would never stay here again. - murph164
