The park is beautiful. The owner and employees are extremely friendly. We were there in the wet season and the mosquitoes were rough. They did spray to keep them at bay. Power box didn't have a breaker switch, that I saw, so I had to plug into a hot outlet. The sewer was higher than the ground. We will definitely stay there if we're ever passing through. We camped at Frenchman's Wilderness Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Our stay was pleasant. The campground was quiet & appeared well maintained. They were still recovering from the Tropical Storm & the pool opened our last night. We camped at Frenchman's Wilderness Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This was the second time we have stayed here. First time was just an overnight stop 3 years ago. This time we were with a large group gathering and spent 5 nights. The staff guided us to our site and assisted our backing in. The park has a pool, playground, miniature golf and a large screened in pavilion for group activities. The wooded rural setting beats the heck out of the average parking lot that often passes off as an RV park. There are some long term residents, but the park is neat and clean. We camped at Frenchman's Wilderness Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Some great Cajun food in nearby Henderson and Breaux Bridge. If able, don’t miss the Saturday Zydeco breakfast featuring live Zydeco music, dancing and available all you can drink Bloody Marys or Mimosas at Buck and Johnny’s in Breaux Bridge.

Very nice campground right off X121 on Interstate 10 in Louisiana. FHU, OTA TV was decent; no wifi. Clean, nicely spaced sites. Escorted to site by staff. Laundry available but didn't use it. Keypad bathhouse and laundry. Nice pool, on the small side. Awesome sounds from the bayou at night. We camped at Frenchman's Wilderness Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

I do not understand the negative reviews. My wife and I were greeted by a very friendly lady and a gentleman. I personally loved the Louisiana cajun/creole accent. I'm from Costa Rica and not accustomed to the beautiful accent. The gentleman guided us to the correct spot diagonally from the office. It was gravel/dirt space which we expected. Unfortunately, we stayed for one night. However, do plan to stay longer when we get back to Louisiana. The personnel was very hospitable and friendly. We did not see many stores around. However, we arrived at about 7 or so and night was soon engulfing us. We heard the many wonderful chorus of animal sounds as night began to fall. We know that there are lots of mosquitoes and therefore prepared for the visit accordingly. We camped at Frenchman's Wilderness Campground in a Motorhome.

Easy access from I-10 but no road noise. This campground backs up on a swamp. We had a large back in lot with large back yard area. There was a concrete patio and gravel pad for camper. We had a back in site and the gentleman who directed us did a super job. The utilities all worked fine. We would stay here again if in the area. It's a good location to visit the Cajun Cultural Museum in Lafayette. We camped at Frenchman's Wilderness Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Pleasantly surprised with this park. Perfect for an overnight, right off I-10 (but because of the bridge over the Atchafalaya, really not much road noise just a rumble in the distance). Sites were mostly back ins, gravel, not overly long, and not overly level. Plenty of space between rigs and lots of area. Pool looked nice, staff was very friendly. Trash picked up at site, and park was very clean. We camped at Frenchman's Wilderness Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

For this rate it should incl free wifi. Most do when you pay a higher rate. It's hard for a big coach to drive thru because of trucks not parked in their spaces & sticking out in the road. They have staff here, they should go round & enforce this. It can cause needless damage. Nice park, nice people at check in. We camped at Frenchman's Wilderness Campground in a Motorhome.

Way too many rules. We found the management obsessed with restrictions about using the pool. We elected to skip the pool because of it. The laundry was inadequate for the size of the park. (Only two very old machines). And don't even think about unloading any motorized vehicles. (Unless you're management) Only electric golf carts allowed. We camped at Frenchman's Wilderness Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Highly rated CG. Several overnight pull through spots but mostly permanents. Mostly grassy sites that are well kept. Easy access to interstate, friendly staff. Cash or check only.
Nice pool and playgrounds. Gravel and grass sites in the trees. It was very wet the night we arrived since it was only a week after the devastating floods in the area so was a little squishy everywhere we walked. We camped at Frenchman's Wilderness Campground in a Motorhome.

Very large sites, lots of grass and trees. Park mgmt put on a nice event for Easter. Lots of kids had fun. On the other hand, our site was so non-level we had to buy extra leveling blocks. Site was muddy. The sewer drain was on a concrete island that was so high our tanks wouldn't gravity drain. WiFi was weak, intermittent, and slow even when working. Most of the campers seemed to be non-permanent locals. Apparently this camp is a weekend campsite for locals, so we were outsiders. Unlike most camps, we didn't meet any friendly neighbors. Laundry room was filthy (had to wash out the washer and dryer before using them), but that may have been just bad luck due to a messy previous user. We camped at Frenchman's Wilderness Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Don't like how the employee help you park, some don't know what they are doing and just cause confusion. Love all the programs during the holiday. Pool is nice. Mosquitoes are horrible. Site needs more gravel, muddy when rains. Also we feel like we are being watched all the time by employee. Too many full timers. site 23 very muddy when it rain's. All the good sites with concrete pads are given to full timers. We camped at Frenchman's Wilderness Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
