This is a gravel parking lot with hookups. First thing they told us was no using your onboard washing machine. Everyone has to use their laundry and no discount. There are 3 concrete slabs and we moved to one of these the second day. We would not stay here again. We camped at Island House RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We stayed here over the Christmas holiday. The owners that run the park are super nice. It is a smaller RV park with only 15 spaces that are really close together. Our site was on a concrete pad. The owners are eager to help you enjoy your stay whether that means to help you with your site or the local area. They do not offer cable and the internet did not work for us but you are at the beach and that is not what it is about. You are walking distance to the beach but beware..even in December, the mosquitoes will eat you up. We camped at Island House RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Nice beach and friendly folks! Cant offer info about the local food since everything was closed for the holiday, even the gas stations.

Overall Rating:

Rate reflects 2 nights at Passport America. This RV park is very difficult to review. We are so happy we spent a few days in Grand Isle; we loved the vibe. We were 1/2 block from the beach and we were able to get all the fresh shrimp we wanted just going down to the boats at the docks. The staff were great and so friendly. They took us on a golf cart ride of the island, shared recipes and gave us some sight-seeing tips. But in the end the campground was a parking lot and the place was sort of ramshackle. Wi-Fi was slow but OK, but we were very close to the house/office. If the lot was full we would have been cramped as the sites are very close together, but it was off-season, so there were only a few other campers. We camped at Island House RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

This is a small park on Grand Isle. The whole park consists of a lot within a residential/commercial area. All sites are on concrete pads. The parking lot which the sites surround is comprised of gravel and broken shells. The office/owners residence sits atop the laundry facility. The laundry facility is available to the public. The rate shown reflects an Escapee discount.

I'd have rated this campground higher but the wifi is non-existent. A router in the owners kitchen qualifies for their claimed wifi. There is no cable TV, although we did get a good Direct TV signal with our dish. And, there are no breakers on the site power connection. We camped at Island House RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Great beaches for shelling. You can watch porpoises at the city fishing pier. It's about a two and a half hour trip to New Orleans.

Small friendly park with owners who go out of their way to make you feel at home. They will provide you with all the information you want regarding sightseeing, fishing, and even the history of the area. A fun place to stay. I will definitely stay here if I am back in Grand Isle. We camped at Island House RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

We are giving this RV Park a "10" for Excellent (for "our purposes"). We are full timers, retired and enjoy "adult RV Parks." No pool, kids slides, etc - just a nice parking spot. Group Campfire was next to us and almost every night folks sat around enjoying Grand Isle. If only the owners of some of the other parks we have stayed in could be 1/2 as nice as these folks. Everything stated above about them is true. We came for 2 weeks and spent a whole month - $100 a week. If you are looking for an "action packed" RV Park or city - don't go to Grand Isle. If you like the ultimate "kick back life style" you will be in luck. Beach is just across the street and a morning walk (or run) is just beautiful. We camped at Island House RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This park was great. Like all the rest on the island, it is small and intimate, but the owners were great - very friendly and accommodating. They even offered to lend us their car to see more of the island, which we declined, but greatly appreciated the offer. The Wi-Fi works great. I work daily from the motorhome and had no problems with connection. Walked to the beach and the small store from the park. Also had laundry facilities, which is the main reason we stay at any campground. No showers or washroom though. We camped at Island House RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

First off this is NOT the nicest RV park in Grand Isle, as previously stated: the State Park is the nicest. But this more than likely the friendliest RV park in town. The owners are great, full of information, and quite the fisherman. They took us out, we caught fish and had a great time. Both are very up on local history and very willing to share their knowledge. Park is clean, no shade, spaces are tight, but all the commercial RV parks in town are that way. Concrete pads are handy and new. Verizon cell service: voice and data were excellent. We would come here again. We camped at Island House RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

We stayed here in February for a few days and this is the best park on Grand Isle. Mind you, Grand Isle is almost like a different country, so don't be expecting outrageous large RV parks like some places in Arizona, but if you want to have a fabulous beach and like a bohemian feel to the community, this is THE place to be in Louisiana. The park is basic, but better than any other on the island. Onsite laundry is a rarity and they have it. Not to mention walking distance to the grocery and the small store in the gas station that also makes fabulous pizza. There's also a few bars and restaurants nearby. When busy season hits, walking to these places is gold! We camped at Island House RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
