I thoroughly enjoyed staying here! It was quiet and incredibly peaceful! I spent the day walking around the campground, fishing, and reading under the trees. We were in the camper, but they had more than just RV hookups. They had a large meeting room, a bunch of cabins with showers, and a pretty big kitchen with hang out area. Everything was nice and definitely exceeded my expectations.
Contact the manager directly. She's very easy to work with, even with last minute stays. - hsjenkins

We spend about 5-6 months a year at this park. They have a new management team and they have started doing some improvements to the park. They have replaced picnic tables and have started cleaning up the grounds. When we left there at the end of April it was starting to look better. Hopefully we will see some more improvements when we get back in September. - Herbbil

Pricey for what you get. It's a nice park with some nice spacious sites but our site was barely big enough to contain our rig. The park is clean and reasonably quiet given the 4th weekend. However the picnic tables are in need of some serious attention. Watch your height when checking in. Water pressure was 23 lbs which made for a poor shower. - Quahog

Natalbany Creek is a roomy campground just east of Amite, which is about 50 miles north of New Orleans. I chose it, knowing that I would only want to spend a single day in New Orleans, and preferring to spend the rest of my time away from city noise and bustle. The campground sits behind a casino, which has signs far more obstreperous than its own, so I managed to miss it (I'm getting quite skilled at that), and had to make a big loop on poor country roads to get back. Once set up though, the campground was quite comfortable. The lanes were wide, and the sites were ample. They even provided fireworks on New Years Eve's Eve. (They expected really cold weather on New Years Eve itself. I brought in my hoses, put on my woolies, and weathered it just fine.) All in all, the campground was ordinary but satisfactory. It was quieter than many parks I have visited over the past few months, away from busy highways and railroads. It was certainly more spacious than the "resorts" I was to encounter later in Florida, though my particular site was a little cramped. - Jim Fulton

This park has a lot of things to do as far as playgrounds, hiking, horseshoes, swimming, paddle boat, etc however, everything is pretty old and a bit run down. You can tell the owners take pride in the park, it just needs some repair and updating. The majority of the people here were permanent residents. The ponds for fishing were descent though we only caught 1 fish in 3 days and we had several people fishing with several different types of baits. In my opinion, the pond wasn't nice enough for paddle boat or canoe though it was offered (for an extra charge, I believe). The roads are gravel and are maneuverable for an average size RV but the roads are narrow and there are many low hanging branches so a large RV, 5th wheel or motorhome will have a difficult time. One thing that really could use addressing is the last of directional signs on the road. We did it ourself and saw several people go down a road (in the back near the pond) to try to circle around and leave the park but it's just a cul de sac. Not a big deal to go the wrong way and turn around in a vehicle but pulling a camper, you don't want to be going the wrong way. Overall, it was a nice visit with nice time spent in th woods and nature but it isn't a modern updated park if that's what you are looking for. - kbg12379

Nice clean pool. Old campground with very dated buildings. A lot of permanents. Campground could use some cleaning up and major tree branch trimming. - Bjb1775

This is a very rustic campground with lots of trees. The entry is down a long narrow road and we clipped the fence on the tight turn into the campground. The interior roads are all dirt and sand, and were tight for our 40 ft. motorhome. Our site was a grassy, sandy pull-through. Most of the sites have trailers on them although there were very few people here on a Sunday. There is wireless, but I wasn't able to connect with an iPhone, iPad, Kindle or laptop, just a spinning icon. Because of the trees there was no satellite reception, and they don't have cable. We were able to get about 5 antenna channels. I would try to find another place before staying here again although it was convenient to I-55. - RVerMJ

We stayed here to visit New Orleans (1.5 hours) and Baton Rouge (1 hour). Sites were FHU 50A, grass and packed dirt; roads were gravel and they were quick to fix the gravel after the couple of hard rains while we were there. Picnic table and fire pit were provided. No Wi-Fi and Verizon signal almost non-existent. Campground is older but well maintained. They have dinner Fri and Sat which was really good. Trails around the campground to walk. Pond for fishing and ducks around. They also had a pool. There are some seasonal campers, a couple of the trailers could use a wash but generally not unsightly. They have horse riding lessons for kids and trail rides. On Friday and Saturday evenings there is a viewing stand where they talk about the horses and watch them work with the horses and the kids which was fun. The owner was very welcoming and made sure we had a spot we liked. Original spot was full sun, another was unlevel but she found us some trees, level but with satellite access. I would definitely stay again. - TravelingParkers

It was raining most of our stay but camper overseers were nice! Pool clean and nice! Went swimming early and missed rain. Quiet & restful! Wish we could have done more activities but rained out! An awesome place for horse riders! - Sandy_two2

I can't say enough wonderful things about our stay here, we will definitely be back. Our trip was the weekend after Easter so the park was pretty quiet with not too many campers. The kids had a great time, the teenagers and adults loved it too. The park owner and all of the employees were super nice and made us feel so welcomed. The park is very clean, new in ground pool, beautiful pond and a few fun farm animals. The horse ride guides were very patient and helpful. We can't wait to go back. - kbg12379
