We are now paying more for 2 nights than we used to pay for 5 nights a few years ago when they had a "pay for 3 and get 2 free" coupons on their website. The sites are large, pull through, FHU, not level, have cable TV, are satellite friendly, and have sewers located too far forward on the sites. The laundry and bathroom facilities are clean. The park's recreational facilities (playground, pool, b-ball court, etc.) are very good. As usual the Wi-Fi was not dependable. Management has still not taken care of the many negatives (unruly customers, poor Wi-Fi, no recycling, etc.) that have existed for years. We camped at Coushatta Casino Resort Red Shoes RV Park in a Motorhome.

Can't beat the price ($19) for a great campground! Of course they want you to come to gamble at the casino which is a little off the beaten path about 20 miles north of I-10/Lake Charles. Campground is located next to casino with free shuttle available. The grounds are very clean and well maintained. Roads are paved and sites are long concrete with large patio with picnic table. There is grass between the spacious sites and occasional small trees. There is a nice clubhouse and pool and a pond. Wifi is Ok. One irritation is they charge you $50 deposit at check in which is refunded at check out. We camped at Coushatta Casino Resort Red Shoes RV Park in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

This was our second stay at this park. All sites are concrete, FHU with cable, picnic table and concrete patio. There are 105 pull through sites, 3 back in sites and 100 park model "chalets". Sites are fairly close together with strips of grass in between and a few trees. We stayed in site 106, a long pull through site that wasn't very level. Lots of amenities including pool (open year-round but not heated) with ample outdoor seating, large dog park, basketball court, two playgrounds, stocked fishing pond, volleyball court and tennis court. The rv park office/lodge is nice and has a pool table (but out of order), seating area with fireplace and tv, and laundry area ($1 to wash/dry). Shuttle runs 24/7 and will take you anywhere on the property. The one and only bathhouse for the rv park has 4 toilets and 3 showers per gender, and is kept clean. Garbage bins located on nearly every site. Utilities worked well and Verizon service was excellent. Cable channels were snowy/grainy just as they were on our last visit. Convenience store/gas station on the casino grounds. Our stay was good until the park filled up with rowdy campers before Easter weekend. They played their music so loud (with giant outdoor speakers) we couldn't hear our tv set inside our camper. Others rode around on golf carts with speakers blaring music also. Security drove through and did nothing until we and several other campers called and complained. Children constantly rode their bikes through our site. Twelve-year olds on golf carts. Sites had multiple cars parked every which way on the grass. No rules, therefore no enforcement! Although we like this park and will return, we will never stay during a weekend and/or a major holiday. We camped at Coushatta Casino Resort Red Shoes RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Market Basket grocery store is 5 miles away. The Seven Clans buffet offers all you can eat crawfish ($50 per person yikes!) which were good, but the rest of the buffet was disappointing. Avoid going after 8:30 p.m. as the food isn't fresh and they start pulling food off the buffet line at 9:30. FYI, they changed the rules that now only the person whose name is on the reservation can use casino card points for a discount off of your stay (I wanted to use my husband's points and they refused).

Love this campground! Spaces are large and well maintained. The lake and surrounding area is very peaceful. No fire rigs but that is the only negative. A big plus is an employee that washes/waxes the rigs. PWG Professional Wash and Detailing did our rig while there. He went above and beyond any other service we have ever had. He worked for 3.5 hours, and even used RainX on the windows. I highly recommend him as well. We will definitely return to this campground. Overall Rating:

Love this campground and casino; although we are without a camper at this time, so we stayed in a cabin. Cabin was pretty clean; the biggest gripe I have is that the mattresses in these cabins are hard as a ROCK! This is our 2nd stay in a cabin here. Even tried the couch bed; at least it was a little softer but not big enough for 2 grownups. Can't wait till we get another camper and sleep in our bed with our mattress. I can't believe other people have not complained about this. Anyway, we do love the pool, the casino, the shuttle, and helpfulness of the employees. But do not like the $50 damage deposit that's charged to your credit card immediately, then refunded after a few days of your check out date. The buffet is very pricey unless you go during the week or breakfast or lunch. Its still a nice park and casino, just wish the cabin's had softer mattresses. Shuttle is nice too. All concrete pads with picnic tables; cabins have covered porch and patio. No utensils if you want to cook; you'd have to bring your own. Nothing is comp'd unless you go at least once a month and play at the casino, which they do give better comps than other casinos; just have to keep going to get a free cabin or RV site. Ask for an end site; you'll have more room. Happy camping. We camped at Coushatta Casino Resort Red Shoes RV Park in a Cabin.

Nice campground next to casino about 20 miles north of 1-10 near Lake Charles. There is a shuttle to/from casino. Roads and site pad are paved. Pull thru sites are close together with a picnic table, grass and some have small trees. Wifi is good. Roads in campground are wide and easy to maneuver around. As usual we had a long, pull through, FHU site with a cement pad and patio with a table. Unfortunately it was not level and the utilities were not well placed for our Class C. There is cable TV and I believe all sites are satellite friendly. We were here for just Friday night, but the park was only half full, so the Wi-Fi worked OK and I did not notice the usual weekend rowdy behavior that management does nothing to thwart. The recreational facilities, bathroom, and laundry are good. Typical of the area, there is no recycling. We camped at Coushatta Casino Resort Red Shoes RV Park in a Motorhome.

Loved this park. We've been here 2-3 times and they were Never crowded. the DW likes going to the casino, so she has a membership card, I think that's why we got a good rate, even before using our discount, LOL. But we also have AAA, Good Sam and my military Discount (you can only use one) which KOA does not Honor. Everything was clean, pristine and quiet. We loved the swimming pool and my 16 yr old loved the basketball court and the aforementioned swimming pool. We will definitely make this one of our GO TO campgrounds. Every time we travel east we will be sure to stop there.

Whether you like gambling at the Casino or not, this is a top notch Must-visit Camp ground. You can only stay 2 weeks at a time. CG occupants can use all the Casino property facilities even the Huge Water park with Lazy river and 2 big water slides across the property. They provide shuttle service to every corner of the property. We camped at Coushatta Casino Resort Red Shoes RV Park in a Motorhome.

Price paid reflects 2 x days at Good Sam rate, 2 other days paid $29/day. Shuttle to Casino is very handy. Concrete pads are very good even though they have a slight gradient. Wi-fi was good but Cable terrible. Rang office and maintenance were sent. Said they would call the technician who should come tomorrow - but that never happened. We were on site 79 and site 78 also had terrible cable - impossible to watch. My husband ran a cable to site 80 and it was perfect!! We stayed mid week but park started to fill up during Thursday in readiness for Father's Day weekend. Young people riding around on golf carts so glad we were leaving on Friday morning. Not a lot of shade and it was very hot so pool was welcoming. A beautiful park to walk around for exercise. A lovely park overall and we would stay here again if ever in this area. Take a 30 minute drive to Lake Charles and see the beautiful mansion homes along the waterfront. Take in a meal at Mama Reta's Kitchen on Broad Street. Real home style cooking - just delicious.

We've camped here 5 or 6 times in the past without issue. No "comp" this time and they charged a $50 damage deposit. Credit card machine on the fritz. We waited over an hour in the office. When we were sent to our spot it was occupied. Got another spot. Existing damage to the power pole that I made them witness before we accepted it - and I will have to get them to witness no additional before I check-out. Set up and discovered that the TV cable is out. 3 spots in whole park of 100 spaces - this is one of them. Lots of empty sites with good cable, no damage to site. Not well managed. Saw 4 - 12 YO's driving a golf cart. We camped at Coushatta Casino Resort Red Shoes RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

For the first time in about 20 years we did not spend time here on our October trip last fall. For one thing, they stopped offering a "pay for 3 nights and get 2 free" coupons on their website and were charging over $30 a night. At least they are now back to reasonable ($20) rates on weekdays. The sites are still long and wide with cement pads for the RV and a patio. Unfortunately, many sites are NOT level and have poorly (too far forward) placed sewer pipes which lower the rating. The cable TV is good and most sites are satellite friendly. The Wi-Fi worked better than our last stay because we were only there for 2 weekdays when the park was mostly empty. Other than the sites, the rest of the facilities and amenities are very good. The lodge building has a laundry, bathrooms, and lounge area. There is a second bath house in the RV area. The recreational amenities include a nice pool area, fishing pond, basketball hoop, and large playground, etc. Because we did not stay over a weekend, I don't know if the park still allows the type of dangerous behavior (speeding cars and golf carts driven by kids) I have seen in recent years. I still don't see any recycling. We camped at Coushatta Casino Resort Red Shoes RV Park in a Motorhome.

Very nice park, well laid out with good paved roads and hookups. After visiting the casino, this turned out to be a very expensive site! After the Casino, we had a group of kids playing music very very loud and dancing around have a good time. After several complaints security and park attendants, I asked to speak with a manager. She told me this was the first she heard of it. The problem was resolved quickly then. We camped at Coushatta Casino Resort Red Shoes RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
