May 2016 - $30.00
Rustic, near everything. Friendly owners. - John Rivoire
Apr 2016 - $30.00
Not a destination location but good enough to park and sleep for a couple of days while we had business in town. No playground, pool etc. for the kids but they did have enough room to run around. Very quiet and secluded, we were awakened by singing birds both mornings. The road is a little tight and the best spot (40A) is challenging to back into but I like challenges! Owner stopped by and is very friendly. - mindenglock
Dec 2014 - $33.00
We stayed here for 2 nights to visit the area as there isn't much to choose from.
The park is easy to get to & from I-49 but it is several miles from the Interstate in town.
The park is very small. It is behind a business. The park's office is located at the other park (Nakatosh Campground #1) so you have to go there during the business hours if you want to pay by credit card.
The interior road is gravel. The road is in poor condition and doesn't show signs of being cared for.
The sites are a mixture of pull throughs & back ins. The pull through sites were not long enough for our 40' MH with the toad. All of the sites have some type of slope. They are in poor condition showing signs of ruts and VERY questionable utility connections. The hook ups appear to have been added on over time with fuses rather than breakers, exposed wires and broken fixtures. The electrical connections were different at each site so we had to hunt for an open site with a 50 AMP connection plug. There were no other amenities at the sites.
Our electrical system started malfunctioning. The refrigerator was the first appliance to show a problem followed by the inverter. It seemed to occur when more guests hooked up to the park's electrical system. As soon as we arrived at a newer park with better utility connections, the problem was corrected.
It seemed that about half of the sites where occupied by long term residents.
There was only a line of trees along the Western side of the park to interfere with satellite reception.
Surprisingly the WiFi connection was good but it required a password.
There wasn't a fenced pet area. There wasn't sufficient space to walk dogs along the park's roads but there was a grassy area between the park and the adjacent restaurant's parking lot. There were no bag dispensers or receptacles around the park to pick up waste.
There was a nearby dumpster to throw away your garbage.
The restroom/showers or laundry room were located in the back of the building that housed another business. They required an access code to enter.
For being in a hazardous/severe weather area, there was no underground storm shelter and none of the buildings were designated as shelters.
Would never stay here again! - bsb814
Mar 2019 - $31.00
First Impression: Immediately behind a truck stop. Incidental landscaping. Access road part of truck stop property. A second entrance further west DO NOT USE. Safety: No concerns. Access: Exit 138, I-49, head west, turn right just past Exxon truck stop. Access road in fair condition, sign could be larger, Garmin GPS is accurate. Office: Occasionally staffed, the owner is friendly and helpful, no store. Credit cards accepted. Online reservations not available. Price stated is the Good Sam cost. Facilities: No pool, spa, fitness room or rec center. Small, clean laundry room, clean machines. Restrooms/showers dated, mostly clean but some mold; low water pressure (score "B"). No propane sales. No playground. No off-leash dog run. Campground: Not in a flood plain. Existing buildings not suitable as storm shelters, use truck stop. Lightly wooded. Interior roads are narrow dirt/gravel in good condition with gentle turns and no overhead obstacles. Some potholes. Big rig friendly; long coaches won't have problems. Tent area but no yurts or cabins. Sites are all spacious, sufficiently level, dirt/gravel, pull-through and back-in, grass between. Water and 30/50 electric pedestals at middle; no meters. Low water pressure with average taste. Sewer pipe is 4" unthreaded, at ground level nearer the rear. No patios; no picnic tables. Ground fires not permitted; no fire rings. Good satellite views. No free cable TV. Free Wi-Fi with good coverage and bandwidth. Verizon phone at 3 bars; 4G at 2 bars. No recycle bins. Noise: No railroad, aircraft, or interstate noise. Notable local traffic noise and big trucks rumbling through the adjacent truck stop. Bug Report (mid March): crane flies; carpenter (black) bees emerging. Runners: CG roads marginal for running. Yoga: well-mowed grass should be okay for your mat. Conclusion: Score 6-Nice. We will return whenever in the area. - StephenK
Aug 2018 - $28.00
We stopped ahead of bad weather rolling in on our way home, less than 80 miles away. We called ahead a few miles out to ask about vacancies, and were told to pick any site, and pay with a self pay envelope. Seems to be a nice enough small commercial campground, though it is located behind a truck stop, so there is potential for truck noises during the night, particularly on the row of sites closest to the truck stop (there are 3 rows of pull through spaces). Spaces are wide, with some shade thanks to semi-mature trees, pull throughs are reasonable long, but may be too short for some big rigs. There are 3 or 4 restaurants (casual dining / fast food) options within easy walking distance (1/4 mile). Laundry room looks nice, though only 2 sets of machines, there is also a BBQ pit, and common pavilion room. The night we were there about half the sites were vacant, a few were apparently occupied by long term residents, the power pedestal showed some wear, though nothing excessive, all sites are 30/50 amp. - Isaac-1
Jun 2018 - $31.00
The park is laid out well with plenty of room for large rigs. Pull thru sites are long and easy to access. My site is fairly level. Utilities are good with good water pressure and electric is strong. There are several trees for shade without being a problem for access to the sites. The park only had one other pull thru camper so they just told me to pick the site I liked. The park backs up to a truck stop but, with the ac running, I am not hearing noise from the truck stop. They do not have an onsite attendant so everything is done over the phone. Fill out the pay envelope and place it in the drop box. I will definitely stay here again. My rate reflects the Good Sam discount for daily rate. - gadawg
Nov 2016 - $25.00
Rough interior roads, no level sites. Soft ground at sites, jacks sunk in with no ground support, took an hour to dig out. Large sites. Nice people. 5 miles from town. Would not stay here again. - runamuka
Jan 2016 - $25.00
"Campground" is stretching it. This is a field cleared out of the woods with electric/water/sewer connections. There's wi-fi, but it's VERY slow and spotty. The "site" was grass & dirt, with a little gravel thrown in, but I had to use boards under the levelers so they wouldn't sink into the ground. And the whole place is unlevel; my front wheels are off the ground. "Streets" are graveled paths worn into the ground. From the time you turn off of the highway the gravel road is bumpy, preparing you for the campground "streets". I stayed here because it's the least expensive, believe it or not, of all the campgrounds in the Natchitoches area. It will do as a base because I don't use campground amenities except laundry. - rv1guy2cats
Jul 2013 - $25.00
A relatively new park trying to get established. A nice, very quiet place in the country about 5 miles north of Natchitoches. Good utilities. Turn in on a narrow dirt road with low hanging limbs; they will brush the top of a motorhome. Entrance to park is narrow and very rough, needs grading badly. The entire park is very rough and unlevel, but after trying two sites, we were able to level. The office is not manned, but calling one of the 4 numbers will get someone there by late afternoon to check you in. Friendly, nice people. No issues other than ants; they came home with us. Gravel and tree trimming will make a huge difference. Considering the choices around Natchitoches, it's one of the top 2. - windyridge
Jun 2016 - $35.00
The only thing this park had going for it was it was close to our work. We stayed for 4 months. Owners showed up twice. The "manager" was unpleasant. He very rarely mowed the grass and told us we would have to turn our air conditioning off during the day. He would also ask campers with our group for extra money or to pay rent with cash. The breakers on a couple of spots kept tripping. If the owners don't take more responsibility in their campground he will certainly run it in the ground. Only 1 washer and dryer. They either took your money or wouldn't wash the clothes properly. If you sat outside your camper after 10 o'clock he would come tell you to go in. The list goes on. If you plan on staying 1 night not horrible. Pipeliners beware; not the ideal place. - Pipeliners 2
Apr 2014 - $33.00
We almost didn't stay here because of the other reviewer's post. I'm so glad we did. After a hot day, the shade was a blessed relief. It's well set back off a quiet road, just a few miles out of town. The park is well looked after, spotless restrooms. We didn't find the driveway to be all that steep. I called the number on the office door, left a message, and they called me back right away. There aren't a lot of activities but that wasn't something we were looking for. - ivansmom
Mar 2012 - $33.00
Way OVERPRICED. We camped in a 30 ft fifth wheel. No one at the office the entire stay and would not be. Told to put the check in the mail slot in the door. Horrible entry road up a steep hill. Wifi, electric worked but 30 amp breaker kicked off with hair dryer. Grass sites, close together most with no table or fire ring. Bathrooms okay but not very clean. Pets were allowed but not outside unless on leash with owner, not tied out when you were inside trailer. There has to be a better place to stay in the area. Will not be back, worth about $10-20. Do not try this in a bigrig or large motorhome you may not be able to negotiate the dirt road and no adequate way to turn around within the location. - YNP Doc
Aug 2019 - $45.00
Plenty of space in this wooded area. Only negative was the road to get thee. Drive slowly. - Safrog
May 2019 - $36.00
Stopped for the night. About 10 miles from interstate 49 but worth it. Very peaceful. Boat launch and docking if you are a guest. We were in a 43 ft mh. - Double Ds
Apr 2019 - $40.00
Very nice RV park not far from downtown Natchitoches. When we were there in early April there were very few other campers, so it was very quiet. Sites are well-spaced and there is plenty of grass all around. There are a few trees, but not a lot, so you won't get a ton of shade. The bathrooms were very clean and private. Our site was nice and level and had plenty of space to park and set everything up. WiFi was great, though that might have been mostly due to the low number of guests at the time. We did see several wifi antennas scattered around, though, so hopefully it is still good even when full. We only stayed one night, but wished we could have stayed longer. - wanderfilledlife
Feb 2012 - $11.00
Easy on and off Highway 6, some road noise, but did not bother us. 6 miles to Many, 5 miles to Robeline, 20 miles to Natchitoches. Good free Wi-Fi. Good utilities. Large rock sites and lot. Very nice laundry. Water is brown and very soft, but no sediment, no staining, tastes good. Playground for children. Nearby pond for fishing. No problem with Verizon signal for phone or MiFi. Sites are fairly close, but few campers so we had plenty room. Only downside is, no dumpster. You must call for info, rates, etc., then put money in slot in office door. Envelopes are available. This was very handy for us to visit in area. - User1392
