I am not sure what others are seeing in this park that I did not see. We had one of the supposed super sites facing the water. The staff did come out and trim the trees so that we could get our slides out without them getting scratched. However, we could not put out our awnings, nor could our neighbors because the trees are to close. The super site only included a ratty at best pick nick table that should have been thrown out or resurfaced years ago. We did not have enough room to park the tow vehicle behind the motorhome as the super sites were to short. The hookups were at the very back end of the site and it took all of our hoses and cables to make the connections. The sites were outlined with large large rocks that were not even placed end to end - several were missing or knocked out of the way. The sites were so narrow that with our slides out it was an obstacle course to try and get to the door of the coach without tripping over or stumbling over the rocks. The landscaping was minimal and not maintained at all. Even the areas around the pool and clubhouse were not maintained. There was weeds growing up in all of the supposed landscaped areas and tile and rocks all missing in the pool area. The wifi was unusable as others have mentioned. For the price we paid this was by far the worst value I have ever received for my money. The owners should be ashamed to refer to those as "super sites". We will never return and I will make sure everyone we talk to knows that I would never recommend this place. We camped at Pontchartrain Landing in a Motorhome.

Pontchartrain Landing, owner at Pontchartrain Landing responded to this review

I normally wouldn't even respond to a review that only has one goal, to damage a parks reputation, but you got my attention when you said the owners should be "ashamed". Ashamed of our super sites? No way. Ashamed of the fact that we have worked 24/7 365 for the last 12 years to build a park that is recognized in the top 30 in the nation 6 years running? Not a chance. Ashamed that we employ 47 full time employees and do everything we can to help them advance their lives? Nope. The only thing I'm ashamed of is the fact that you were so dissatisfied that you told not 1 soul, never mentioned anything in the office, certainly never asked to talk with a manager, and never did anything other than attack 47 peoples livelihood on the internet. I certainly hope your mood improves and wish you safe travels wherever you may roam.

You can view my full response on Trip Adviser where we respond in detail as I'm apparently limited by character's on this site.

We have stayed here 2 times before when going thru New Orleans. Resort is on the water (Lake Pontchartrain). This place has a restaurant (good food), entertainment Thursday-Sunday, Park store, shuttle service to downtown New Orleans (Not sure of price for this). Nice pool, Only complaint about pool was no railing for getting in and out of pool. Park roads were dirt/gravel (as was site). Electric 50 amp/water/sewer was good, site was level. The road going to the park was being paved. Park is in an industrial area which makes you wonder about the safety of the area but the park has 24 security and is fenced in (need a code to get in at night) and of course security is always nearby. Although kinda pricey this is one of the nicer parks in the area. Would stay here again. We camped at Pontchartrain Landing in a Motorhome.

Photo on website is deceiving but for New Orleans it's not a bad place. Very dusty since the park is all gravel and we had no rain the weekend we stayed. Had to park our tow vehicle sideways - site not long enough to park behind and we only have a 26 foot motorhome! It's about a 10 - 15 minute drive to downtown/French Quarter depending on traffic. Resort has a shuttle that can take you there for minimal cost but we did not use it. The area where this is located is not the best part of town but the resort is gated and locked at night. Also the road leading into the park is horrible with pot holes. The restaurant on premises has a nice bar, nice pool, and the food was not bad. Don't order the gumbo - it's lousy but the crawfish bisque was the best! Laundry facility is basic but bring your own soap and lots of quarters- no vending machines in the laundry room. They probably sell laundry products in their store but they close at 5pm. We would stay here again. We camped at Pontchartrain Landing in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Go to the World War II Museum. It is the most amazing museum! We all think we know what happened during that war but you will learn more than you want to know. Plan to spend the day and you'll be lucky to see all four buildings!

We paid $48 / night for water/electric 50 amp/sewer/cable/wifi with Passport American discount ($83 without). As many have mentioned, the 1.5 mile back to the campground is horrendous and full of holes. The campground offers many amenities including a pool, restaurant and other entertainment. The campground roads are dusty but the sites are level with nice spacing. This was our first time in New Orleans and the young woman in the office was incredibly nice and assisted us with directions, sites to see, etc. We bought the Hop On / Hop Off tour from her and paid $6 / person to take the shuttle into town. We camped at Pontchartrain Landing in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Watch the free movie at the campground about Hurricane Katrina. Pay the $6 / person to take the shuttle into the French Quarter then take the Hop On / Hop Off tour. We also took a swamp tour. Finally we spent 8 hours at the spectacular National WW II museum and did not get to see everything. Parking in that area of town is expensive but we went on a Sunday and could park on the street nearby for free.

This is a great park. It is easy to get to, yes, France Road is as bad as they say. However, by November 2019 the road will be completely repaved. The park is neat, well groomed, no trash lying around and well taken care of. All pets were observed on a leash. The park roads and sites are dirt so it is very dusty when it is dry. The roads in the park are wide, no over hanging trees anywhere. All of the staff were extremely polite, courteous and always very helpful. Our site was very narrow and just long enough for our rig and our car across the front. Site separation is minimal but at our site there were small trees and brush between our site and the next which helped to create a sense of "space". We had room to put out our patio awning without an issue. All utilities were in good working order and convenient to our wet bay. Most of the sites, like ours, have no shade so with the temperatures in the mid 90's an AC in good working order is a big plus. There is a small camp store at the main office. Lighthouse Bar is above the office and offers good food and weekend live entertainment. The park also offers a shuttle, $6 per person. to New Orleans. The times are 10 am, 4 pm, and 8 pm. There is also Uber and taxi service. Driving in the French Quarter is not recommended. However, if you want to visit the WW II Museum driving in is recommended because you need a full day or more to see all that is there. The museum does have its own parking garage with reasonable rates for the day. We would stay here again. We camped at Pontchartrain Landing in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

New Orleans is the big draw. Plan on taking several different types of tours. Plan on doing a lot of walking. Jackson plaza and the surrounding pedestrian mall are a neat place to walk. Sunday brunch (reserve early) or a weekday lunch cruise or an evening cruise on the Steamboat Natchez is highly recommended. Tour Mardi Gras World if you can. Don't miss the WW II Museum, allow at least two days. Allow two weeks in the area if you want to see all that there is.

Park staff was o.k. Had a couple drinks in the on site bar, it was empty that afternoon. Our site was very tight and a hard to back into. We had to park our Jeep down the road because there was no room for it. My biggest complaint was every single time we walked our dogs we had to pick and comb sand burrs out of their hair. For what they charge in that park I would think they could afford some weed spray. We camped at Pontchartrain Landing in a Motorhome.

This is probably the best park to stay in New Orleans. They have generous sites on the water. Their restaurant is great and they have entertainment on the weekends. We did not use their shuttle since the hours didn't work out for us. It's a quick drive into the French Quarter. We camped at Pontchartrain Landing in a Motorhome.

As stated, road to park was terrible. We really thought the GPS had gotten us lost. Park is dusty, WiFi a joke. Shuttle is nice, but only a couple of pick up times , so we used Uber every trip but one.
Payment was up front. If you don’t buy their insurance, you could be screwed. We changed our date of stay by a couple of days. We had a Passport America discount for a few of the days. When we got there, we owed more $. I asked why. They had taken away my PA discount because originally, we were going to be there for 1 day of Jazz Fest. We had since adjusted our stay, to avoid the festival, but since originally, it was Booked during that time, they charged us accordingly, and would not budge. So, our 5 night stay was over $600! We camped at Pontchartrain Landing in a Fifth Wheel.

First of all, the road leading down to the park is rough! The staff at the park told us it is scheduled to be raised and repaved but I would believe it when I saw it - Louisiana is pretty slow at that sort of thing. The park is all gravel and it was very windy while we were there so ... Super dusty! The price is super expensive too and they require entire payment up front. Ridiculous. Now the good stuff - they have a nice shuttle for a cheap price to take you to/from downtown. They have a GREAT restaurant with a nice menu and excellent crawfish on Friday nights. And live music all weekend long that was just great. Also an interesting movie that is shown every morning about Hurricane Katrina. And a nice dog park. Plus, the staff was just excellent and super helpful! We camped at Pontchartrain Landing in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is right in New Orleans on the water. The owners/workers are very helpful and friendly. It is well maintained, though the restrooms could be refreshed.

Be prepared for a bit of dust; the park is all crushed oyster shells/sand. The speed limit is 7 mph thoughout the park. It is probably less of a problem with a little rain.

There is grill/restaurant/bar on site with quite an extensive menu; nice swimming pool. We camped at Pontchartrain Landing in a Motorhome.

Don't bother to wash your RV before coming here. The roads and sites are dusty gravel and dust kicks up with each passing vehicle getting all over everything. Its always been this way so I guess the owners don't care to do anything about it. The 2 mile road leading up to the entrance is through a run down industrial area and road is full of pot holes. The WiFi is especially bad. Otherwise the campground is nice with some sites on a canal and located about 20 minutes from the French Quarter. The spacing between sites is spacious, roads are wide and there are some shrubs and small trees lined with rock between sites. There is a restaurant onsite and a shuttle service to the Quarter. Staff was very friendly. They pick up your trash. We camped at Pontchartrain Landing in a Motorhome.

Very friendly office staff. Water front back in site. This is our 4th trip to NOLA and always stayed here. Close drive to French Quarter or take campground shuttle for $6 round trip. Burger and fries are great at their grill on site. Only negative is the road to get to the park needs repaved and the campground has a lot of dust. Very nice park. We will return. Trash pick-up at site. Good cable and OTA TV. Advertises Wifi but we were there a week and new was able to get on...guess you had to go to clubhouse to pick it up but at the price, it should be available at site. One of two RV parks in the city of New Orleans, they charge a premium for the benefit of being closer to the action, especially when we were visiting during Mardi Gras. For the money, I would expect paved roads and wifi, but the roads were either quicksand mud pits when it rained or dust bowls when it dried, either way, you're not keeping your rigs clean here. And the wifi situation is simply not acceptable. Management acknowledged to me that they were well aware that it was "non-existent". Otherwise this park is very nice and exceptionally well managed and staffed with friendly, courteous, efficient people. Pool and spa on site. Nice general store. Restaurant and bar upstairs with live music. Restrooms and laundry clean and operational. Verizon signal good (as I would expect within a large metro area) so hotspot was adequate for email and internet. Sat signal good too. Cable available. Launch ramp on site for kayaks and small boats. Park is about 6 miles away from French Quarter and offered a $6 shuttle into town which was nice. Uber rides averaged about $20. This place is located adjacent to a navigation canal between Lake P and the Mississippi with a working marina next door and in the flight path of an airport servicing the local national guard so there was a bit of noise. Otherwise there is zero attractiveness in the immediate surroundings which are a mix of semi-abandoned industrial complexes on a horrible access road. We camped at Pontchartrain Landing in a Travel Trailer.
