Dec 2017 - $26.00
Price is for one night E/W $20 fee plus $6 transaction fee (the $6 is only charged one time, not nightly). Beautiful little campground on banks of Lake Bruin, an oxbow lake formed when the Mississippi River changed its course further east. Excellent, friendly service. Verizon and over-the-air TV signals good. Laundry room in comfort station. Restrooms updated and immaculate. Paved road and sites, most pretty level and fairly spacious. Sun/shade mix. - aowcarol

For a fisherman or boater that enjoys time on the water, this is perfect if you have a waterfront site. One pier was right behind our pad and the water was only a few feet away. You could pull your boat right up to the campsite or to a covered boat slip with power at the loading ramp. The sites were close together but the neighbors were wonderful and it wasn't an issue for us. If you need more room, the sites in the middle are a little more spacious. The sunsets are fabulous! Because of lots of rain and river seepage the grounds were grassy and we didn't set foot in the swimming area. It looked swampy with no sand but wasn't something we cared about. There was a water sprinkler play area nearby but also not something we were looking for. Bathhouses were extremely clean but it took quite a while for the water to heat up for a shower. Shower stalls were also very clean, though and the temperature in the room was comfortable. There were no sewer hookups which would have been much nicer for us. We much prefer showering in our camper but didn't want to break their policy about grey water drainage. The pet potty area was centrally located. It was very quiet while we were there during the week. When we arrived on Sat it was packed with people and someone was parked on our pad. We will visit again, though, maybe next July 4th. They are already booked up for this year! - lprice66

Agree with some of previous reviews. Back sites are a little more spacious than the ones by the water. Fair amount of sites are fairly level, but there is a fair amount that slope either backwards or foward, not excessive but enough that blocks would be needed for a motorhome. Park is clean and quiet, only two of us here during the week. Free WIFI works pretty good, thanks LA. Some trees could be trimmed higher for the large RVs. Roads are all paved but are narrow and we did get through ok with 43 ft motorhome, one tight turn needed to back up. Sites all paved. Didn't use bathhouse. We wouldn't stay here if it was close to full, just to close to neighbors for us. Water pressure good, electric good. Site 45 in the open with grass Satellite reception no problem. - FTatcret2013

For us, Grand Gulf Military Monument Park was an excellent one-night stop on our way from Natchez to Vicksburg. Most of the other CG options in the area appear to be somewhat sketchy and are not physically set in a absolutely beautiful quasi-state park. Our impression is that the CG is a popular weekend getaway for locals and is generally far less used on weekdays. The CG has two sections: the lower section is set in a fairly-wide ravine with easy access to the river, the upper section is set on a bluff and some sites have peek-a-boo river and valley views - especially during the winter months when the park's trees are bare. All sites in the upper section, where we camped, are back-in, have a concrete pad long enough for a travel trailer or motor-home and a gravel patch for a tow vehicle or toad. The narrow lane to the upper section is steep but was no problem for our 30-foot trailer. We only stayed one-night because park staff was concerned that area-wide flooding might close the only access road to to the CG. Note: the small museum - located in the park's office - has a limited but interesting collection of civil war artifacts. - Kona Boy
Feb 2019 - $20.00
This park is a gem - an RV park with full facilities, a museum, historic buildings, wildlife including a plethora of birds from finches to herons. About a half-hour to Vicksburg and the National Park - the Grand Gulf battles were directly related to the Vicksburg campaign. The folks here are helpful and knowledgeable about the attractions and the really great local restaurants in the area. Wonderful place to stay anytime. - Frederic
Oct 2018 - $23.00
We arrived on October 1st and stay 4 nights to visit the historical battle ground, the park has a museum, the park ranger was very helpful, the office manager very nice lady, all the staff very attentive and acknowledgeable of the place, we really enjoy our stay. Since we were the only ones at our arrival, we chose our spot. - 942
Aug 2019 - $28.00
This is a great location for touring Vicksburg with easy and off Hwy 65. The sites are primarily long pull-throughs and perfect for spending the night if you don't want to unhook your camper. As others have noted, the utilities are located at the back of the camper and require extra sewer and water hose. Other than that, the park is spacious, has a small pool and a small playground. It's a great value at $28! - The Regans
Jul 2019 - $28.00
This is a very nice, well maintained park and owners are very friendly. Roads and sites are gravel and sites are level and spacious with grass. We had 50 amp and full hookups. Site was a pull through and accommodated our 43 ft MH and towed pickup truck. Close to everything. We would definitely stay here again ! Quiet. - Snomads
May 2019 - $28.00
Nice park with great people working there. Roads and sites are gravel. There is grass at each site. Picnic tables could use a little tlc. We were assigned a pull through site with I like. However, when we got to the site we realized we had to unhook because the utilities were set so far back in the site. We parked as close to the rear of the site as we could, and still had to use 40 feet of sewer hose. To make matters worse, the site sloped to the front. This put the sewer connector higher than the sewer bay outlet. They say they have Wi-Fi. If it is there it is not useable. Verizon was five bars for our jetpack worked well. - John 31946
