This campground from what I am told has new owners, don't see the owners, don't even know who the new owners are. The sites are gravel and grass on either side, when it rains it floods, there are a lot of empty sites. There is one site that is really nice, has a patio and a sidewalk, as well as nice grass, the other sites should look as nice as that. There hasn't been much improvement as far as the looks of the campground since the new owners took over. Took a walk to the back of the campground where the bathhouse is and it was pretty nasty, not too many campers in the back or front area. We camped at Audubon RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Wife and I stayed here June and July in between our camp host jobs and there is a new owner that purchased it in May. The new name is Audubon RV Park. We stayed here last year and it was very trashy and dirty. In the couple months the new owner has had it there is major changes, from cleaning and updating the park to security cameras but still needs a little time. The staff is now very friendly and helpful also the pool is nice and clean. Once all the changes are made the park will be very nice. We will be back and letting all our RV friends know about the changes!! We camped at Audubon RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The Bathhouse is covered in black mold, should be shut down. All the electrical and plumbing is in bad shape and not up to code. My husband and I stayed there for a year and a half. The experience was horrifying. We camped at Audubon RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

An extremely dumpy campground. We did not feel safe being there; scary looking people especially the man who kept riding around on a golf cart and did nothing but look. Whomever owns this facilty does not take pride in it. We camped at Audubon RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Probably the worst park we have ever stayed in, private or public. Not much to pick from in Slidell, but coming in through Good Sam we didn't expect to it to be so awful. Office was trashy and smelled of dirty cat litter. If it hadn't been so late and us being so weary, we would have just gone to another park. We decided to tough out the one night, but never felt safe. Lots of barking dogs, motorcycles, people arguing and threatening each other. No limited access or security that we could tell. There were a few nice rigs in the short term pull through sites, but the rest were mostly old and run down. They did give us a site long enough for us to stay hooked up, and it did have 50 amp, so that merits a star. We had our own water fortunately. In retrospect, we would have rather stayed in the Walmart parking lot. We would not recommend this park to anyone. We camped at Audubon RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This RV park is a dump. Saw 2 guys passed out drunk. One was on the side of his junk motorhome. This motorhome is at the entrance to the RV park and is jacked up on blocks with part of the hood missing. I'm told he is working on it. This park is not well kept, the sites are narrow and so are the roads. The laundry is in a metal shipping container that is heated, in cold weather, by a space heater in the winter. No AC during the summer but there is a window that opens. It also has some serious drainage problems. You have to drive on the grass when making a turn. This RV park won't be around very long. We camped at Audubon RV Park in a Motorhome.

Old park which needs work. Sites are very tight. Apppeared to be lots of transient workers. Did not use any of the facilities. Would not stay here again. We camped at Audubon RV Park in a Motorhome.

We have been here since March 2014 with work and when we first came it was fine, but since the owner came in July this place is horrible!! The grass has not been cut in over 4 weeks: knee high, snakes, mosquitos, ticks, scared to walk my dog!! When asked about cutting grass the owner said "stop trying to tell me how to run my business"!! This owner is a joke!! Laundry room is in a box car with 1 door that has a gas water heater by the door & filthy! Fire hazard to say the least! Breaker box has had cover taken off & left open for anyone to touch b/c the man doing electrical work is not licensed! There is someone staying in a tent under one of the covers that has boarded up the sides!! We pay over $500 a month and get talked to with a attitude b/c we asked to get grass cut!! DO NOT STAY HERE!! We camped at Audubon RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This was the worst park we have ever stayed at. The owner was very rude and inconsiderate, she didn't take responsibility for anything. The water is awful cannot use it for anything, the power is a huge joke. She has packed to many campers into this park and it can't handle it, the owner knew the power in our spot didn't not work and the mangers told us we could use the spot next to us power so we did and we had to leave the park for a few days came back and she had unhooked our power so another camper could park there, ruined all our food in freezer, burnt our air conditioner up because when she plugged it into the other box it sent a huge surge through our trailer. The owner said it was our fault and denied knowing anything about the power problem, the power lines are not up to code she is using some random man staying here to work on power. The swimming pool is also a huge joke stays green all the time, has dead frogs and spiders running in it. She also has false advertising, she has a sign up that says free shuttle to French quarter this is a lie, there is no shuttle but she continues to advertise it. The bath house is extremely nasty it only gets cleaned once a week and not very good then, the laundry is awful no air what so ever, the machines are dirty they are never cleaned you would do better going to a laundry mat. The water is not treated correctly and has an awful smell to it. They will also not refund your money if you come in and have to leave for an emergency or something your out that money, the owner does not care about anything except making money and she'll do whatever it takes to make it, including ruining your stuff. If your thinking about this park run for your life it is awful, and if you do stay here your probably going to want to find a doctor, it is not a clean, healthy park. We camped at Audubon RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Friendly staff. Sites are only big rig friendly if no one is parked behind you; turns are tight. We did manage to get into our pull-through site, but were parked next to a light pole, so getting out was a little more difficult. Sites are gravel and interior roads had some ruts. Would not stay there again. We camped at Audubon RV Park in a Motorhome.

Very well maintained - we enjoyed our stay. We stayed for several weeks and it was quiet and well maintained. The restrooms were spotless! Not much shade but there are a few sites with a tree. Convenient location to the interstate. The only reason I gave it a 9 and not a 10 is that the Wi-Fi seemed a bit slow. We camped at Audubon RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Folks that gave this park high ratings must be friends of the owners. Agree with the previous reviewer that you should be current on shots before staying here. I can't believe KOA ever had anything to do with this place. Full sun sites, poor WiFi, pool in disrepair and murky water, pump was not working as far as I could tell. The dump station sewer was 5-6 feet directly in front of the laundry room door. Laundry looked like it was in someone's mildewy basement. Absolutely the worst campground we have stayed at; it inspired us to shorten our vacation and leave early. Management not available at the office to check in when we arrived at 5:30. They left a note saying they would be back after 10 the next morning, which meant we had to cancel our New Orleans tour plans. Stay away from this place and keep driving! We camped at Audubon RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Great help from park staff. Gravel site with good length for 38' and parking. High speed traffic from "permanent" section, however. Muddy holes on site when raining. We camped at Audubon RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Good basic older (was) KOA! Still somewhat recovering from hurricane Katrina. Owners are presently absent because of health issues, but the manager was knowledgeable and very helpful. About 40 minutes from French Quarter, but good access to I-10 to I-12 for travel east or west. We would -- probably will --stay here again. We camped at Audubon RV Park in a Motorhome.

I enjoyed staying at this park. We stayed here for a little over a week while we visited the New Orleans area. It was easy to get to and convenient to New Orleans. The manager was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. At one time, this was a KOA campground and still looks like one. It was very clean. They were very pet friendly. We did not use the pool as it was a little early in the year, but it looked very inviting.I enjoyed our stay here and would return. We camped at Audubon RV Park in a Motorhome.
