Jan 2016 - $33.00
Sites are not level, neighbors are extremely close and fight very loudly day and night. We didn't even get a picnic table at our site. They also burn piles of leaves right in the road which creates a lot of unpleasant smoke (not to mention weird and dangerous). There's almost nothing to do in the area, no trails to walk, very limited restaurants, grocery stores, etc. The lady manager is Very rude to boot. Spend your money elsewhere. - Hana_Rose

First, I'm not a high class camper. We don't stay at resorts or concrete jungles. We love the woods and bugs. We just made a 1 1/2 hour ride here. It's small, which we are OK with, but was full of permanent campers. There was only one open spot someone was just backing into. The rest look like full timers. The campers there look like they been there for years. Not a good place to walk your dog or much for kids. Just a place to live. There is plenty of shade with all the trees, and I have no doubt that the owners are nice and friendly. We would stay here if it was more like a campground than a permanent resident. If I had to stay here for work I would, but I do not consider this a camp ground. - lovegun
Oct 2015 - $30.00
The campsites are very narrow and crowded with parked cars and obstacles, one stall bathroom with cracked seat that pinched.
Wet floors, office not open till 10:15 am. When I called the owner to open and give me a check out receipt, I received an angry criticism from her for being disturbed. - Beverly Spuckler
Aug 2015 - $35.00
Probably not the campground's fault, but we were there in heavy rains. There is no place to walk outside without near ankle deep water and mud. Don't go there during a rainy period. Wi Fi and TV is poor. It is a quiet place, but filled with long term RVs. - W Davidson
Aug 2014 - $35.00
Our site was level and easy to get in and out of. The roads are gravel so fairly clean but with a few minor pot holes. The young man in the office was pleasant. It was quiet at night, but the next morning (a Monday), we could hear pick-up trucks from the long-term residents in the park leaving for work starting at 5 AM. We paid $35 cash. Credit card was $40. Wi-Fi was particularly good. - Pamela R.
Jan 2011 - $23.00
A large majority of the sites in this campground are occupied by what appear to be permanent resident travel trailers, although very few seemed to be occupied when I visited. The office / store is quite run down and dirty. If you elect to pay for your stay using a credit card, a 3% surcharge is added. No Wi-Fi service or cable is available, although I was asked if I wanted the number of the local cable provider to call in order to arrange for service connection. The major networks are available over-the-air with good HD signals and I was able to obtain a 4-bar signal for Verizon broadband. When I return to the Baton Rouge area, I’ll either stay in another campground or keep on going. - GreenMtn08
Jan 2018 - $40.00
I stayed at Night RV for several months, the area is quiet and clean with plenty of trees and privacy. Management was always friendly and helpful. They are one of the only RV parks in Baton Rouge, and being closer to Denham Springs, the area is much quieter. Recommended. - Alyssa FDC
Feb 2012 - $28.00
This park is very slummy; many long-term residents in ramshackle travel trailers. The grounds were muddy when we arrived, two days after moderate rains. The owner/manager had told us on the phone that accommodating our big rig was no problem, then when we arrived she directed us into a site where we began sinking in the sand and mud -- even before putting down jacks. We left while we could still get out (we had to rock forward and backward to make it) and will never attempt to stay there again. - nationcruiser
Jan 2012 - $25.00
We stayed here a week because it was convenient for site seeing in Baton Rouge. It was just a place to sleep at night. It was "get by" acceptable for that purpose. I would not recommend it as a place to sit out and enjoy the location. It is mostly FEMA trailers or old permanents - basically a trailer park - probably dating from Katrina. The management lady was nice and friendly. We had no problem with the neighbors. - luketx
Jun 2019 - $170.00
We are currently here and will be here for an extended stay. We have had awesome service from the owners, employees, and other campers. This facility has everything you need: from a convenience store with any item you can think of to the restaurant/bar that serves delicious food and has a friendly atmosphere. We love that it's not a partying place and people do have a lot of respect for others and keep the noise down. It's currently mostly renters that work so during the day it's very quiet and peaceful and in evenings you have the workers come in and all is quiet by around 9pm. There is a clean laundry facility and it's nice and cool inside. The park is on a beautiful bayou and you can watch the wildlife swimming and I've even seen a few deer here during the day. Overall excellent place to camp!! I've been to many places and this Camp Ground is truly awesome! - TrinaandJody
Oct 2010 - $20.00
I was stopped at the door when I asked if tenters were allowed. So much for "warm Cajun hospitality." Owner said there were no bathrooms to accommodate tenters. If you are a tent camper, don't bother driving to this hard to find place: it's a waste of time. - woundtight
Oct 2006 - $20.00
Fall 2006 - We lived here for 2 months while renovating our home 12 miles away. The owners are very friendly & live on-site. They were building a new convenience store/office while we were there, and it was finished about the time we left. All gravel with some grass. There's a center road with sites on both sides. One side is on a bayou that leads to False River (actually an 11 mile long lake) which has great fishing and water sports (skiing). The bayou side has a wood deck/boardwalk. There's a boat launch that I think is free for campers, and a covered place to clean your fish. There are several long-timers, or maybe permanent residents on the bayou side. There are some living there because they're working in the area. When I walked my dog, I found lots of other doggie droppings (I pick up behind my dog), so I don't think they enforce the clean-up rule. Other than fishing from the deck, there's really nothing for kids to do. Too hard to ride a bike on gravel. But we weren't there for recreation, just to sleep. I don't remember the nightly rate. We paid $300 a month - included utilities and cable. I'm writing this several months after staying there. I think they have probably made more additions and improvements since then. I would recommend this place to others. - Nomane
Jul 2014 - $23.00
Stayed here for three weeks(weekly rate) while working on a job in Baton Rouge. The location is great. The park is very quiet with zero drama or problems. The sites are very close together. The park is very clean the washer and dryer are clean and work well and the shower/bathroom is basic but clean. The Internet was surprisingly fast. The manager was nice and worked with me as I came in at an odd hour. This is a no frills park, but if you just want a place to setup and sleep and go see the sites or have a job in the area it is a great place to stay. I would stay here again. - Richard and Andie
Dec 2013 - $30.00
No frills park in excellent location. We spent a week here visiting friends in Baton Rouge - although sites are close, owner is extremely friendly and helpful. Typical occupants are construction contractors working locally. We would stay here again. - Cousin Eddy
Sep 2008 - $20.00
The man that runs the park is very nice! His son is also very helpful. The campers and RVs are very, very close together. There are stray dogs running around all the time. There are mobile homes in the park. It is located next to an apartment building. The only good thing about this park is that it is close to restaurants and grocery stores. - jandhevans
Jul 2019 - $55.00
TRAVELER BEWARE, OWNER WILL NOT TAKE TIME TO REPLY TO CONCERN I gave this review 1 star as it was a nice facility, but only on the surface. Vacationers are not the primary focus of this KOA because it.s all about keeping all sites full, long term and short.
The laundry machines were defective and saturated our clothes with a putrid smell. This smell cannot be removed so all the clothes, several pants, shirts, underwear, etc. even after washed several times with vinegar, ammonia, and backing soda can not be worn without affecting wearer's respiratory system. Clothes were disposed of as the stench of chemicals was so bad they could not be donated.
To worsen things I have written the owners several emails to which not even a simple sorry to hear about your concern. Wrote KOA corporate, they washed their hands and refuse to engage. If they treat a simple thing like this in this fashion I hope no-one ever has a major issue where they need owner engagement. Be warned, be aware, and be watchful so everyone stays safe.
I also stayed at a total of 10 other KOAs on this trip and if there were concerns, one changed our site, the owners replied immediately to our concern email. This facility is run by owners who do not even take time to engage with vacationing families that have a concern so USER BEWARE, THINK TWICE BEFORE USING THIS KOA, THERE ARE SEVERAL OTHER RESORTS IN THAT AREA. Thank you for reading and I wish you safe journey. - Johnjr2025
Jun 2019 - $55.00
Stayed here one night on our way to Texas. We asked for a pull thru site and wanted to stay hooked up. They accommodated us, but our toad was in the road. They put cones around it and people could get by so it worked. Sites are all cement and close, our awning close to touching RV next to us. Since we were just here for the night it was fine. Staff was friendly and told us how we could walk across the road to a couple restaurants which was great since we stayed hooked up and were tired of riding. Easy on and off i12. Would stay here again just for overnight. - letsgorving
Jun 2019 - $55.00
Friendly front desk for checking, then we were escorted to our site. We had a concrete pad, with concrete under the picnic table. Sites are very close to each other and if a trailer had pulled in next to us, we would have been sitting on their sewer hose and if they had a slide, it would have been in our lap. Our RV is only 23" not taking up much space. Some of the sites didn't have grass at all and the grass on our site needed mowing. Children seem to enjoy the pool, it was full when we pulled in. - Patches
Jul 2019 - $35.00
In town for 2 nights to visit our granddaughter who is a student at LSU. Park is adequate for us due to the close proximity to LSU. Have stayed here several times and we enjoy the park. It is extremely quite and there were only a few others staying there. Park personnel were very helpful. Will definitely stay here again. - louisianatravelers
Oct 2018 - $23.00
There are 2 areas at Farr Park. We stayed in the area near the horse stables and arena. Although the staff gave me directions to the area, they were not clear and we went to the wrong area first and had to turn around and go back. It was basically a grass field with 30 amp power and water. The electric was broken (on the ground) at at least one site and there were wasps in the electrical pole of the site that we chose. The park was adequate for the our overnight stop and we are early risers on travel days, which was good since the only way into and out of this park is past the LSU football stadium and it was a game day. Luckily it was a 6 PM game, but they were already closing off streets at 8 a.m. - Madd Dogg
Aug 2018 - $40.00
A bit challenging to find and we missed the turn. The address, which we put in the GPS and where the park is are different. Once we found the park it was not clear as to where the office was. A rainstorm was coming so we pulled into a site and set up, all the electric boxes are locked, we found one that wasn't and had everything set up before the storm hit. I am not sure what one does for electricity if you come in after hours. Called the number and found out where the office was. Only accepted cash and no discounts. CG selection around Baton Rouge is not great and this one was very nice. Thought the price was high. - Wandering
Jul 2019 - $30.00
Called to see if space available and friendly lady said to come in and pick a spot and leave $30. in a drop box near the entrance. Mostly full time residents in a half dozen spots with another dozen or so empty. Most residents were gone from park in early evening and apparently out working. Road and parking pads are dirt with a smattering of gravel and sites are grass . After we parked in site with tall grass a fellow appeared and mowed around our site. We're traveling through the Delta along Hwy 61 and this is a convenient stop for the night. - Appleknocker
Apr 2018 - $30.00
We've stayed there twice, May, 2017 and April, 2018. The park was set up for a mobile home park years ago and they are slowly making it convenient for RV's. They do not take reservations but both times, they had several sites available when we got here. The park was clean. We did not use any of their facilities but they do have a laundry available. The park has grass and allows pets. It's near the school but with all the trees in the area, it wasn't noisy. The park is a couple of miles from town and is convenient to get in and out. - Memtb

Apr 2012 - $16.00
We stayed her to attend meetings. The slabs are very close together and many are broken and very uneven. Electricity worked, but was tripped when we arrived - had to find the box to reset. We were also told to turn off our AC when we used the microwave so we wouldn't trip the circuit. The bathrooms did not have showers and were not clean and friendly. The floor was always wet and the community area was not lighted at night. There is no extra parking for a vehicle once a trailor is backed into the spot. You just have to pull across your spot - sometimes blocking the area next to you. This could be a much better place if time were taken to improve the sites and make the facilities clean and attractive. There were picnic tables set up in the community site, but things were always wet - instructions were up to wash everything down after use, so it was always wet. - kcjflea
Jan 2019 - $35.00
It's a very nice place..we've been here for about 7 months..the grounds are nice and well-kept..there is a laundry.. we didn need other amenities so we couldn't review those..I do, however, feel like there is enough (ample amounts) of money being made here, that ANY amount should be put into maybe building a small play-area /park/playground type setup (sandbox, slide, monkey bars, etc.) for the visitors that do have children..(which are a lot more than noticed, they just all stay inside without somewhere to be or play with supervision) Just a suggestion from someone who has to stay away from home quite often (sometimes coming to visit him here with our 1 & 3 yr old children) as my hunny works out of town a lot..! Otherwise, I'd wish more places were as nice as Choctaw..! - Mary Wescovich and Donald Galloway
Apr 2013 - $15.00
This park was pretty nice. Good level slab. Quiet. Clean. The owner could have been a little friendlier. But over all a pretty good experience. - okccountrygirl
Oct 2010 - $28.00
This is a mobile home park that has RV spots also, 5 mins from Plaquemine, and 20 min from Baton Rouge. About 6 miles from Wal-Mart and fast food places. Has full hookup some concrete pads also. We have been here a year because my husband was here working. Anytime you need help just give them a call and they are there right away. Guidrys restaurant in Plaquemine is a good sit down restaurant if you like seafood. - BRANDYC
