5 RV Parks near Columbia Falls, Maine
Aug 2019 - $32.00
This looks like a newer campground, so owners have a few things to learn. They had some really long pull through sites, really level, with itty bitty campers on them. Our trailer is 29, we pull with a long bed, double cab pickup. They squeezed us into a pie shaped site, with about 6 feet between us and another camper, our size. Perfect site for the little guy, and the pull through was long enough that our two campers, with vehicles, could have shared. Also, lots of mosquitoes. If you can get a pull through this would be a great stopover. - Andywriter

This is a low key campground. Quiet and ideally located to several interesting downeast Maine activities: hiking on the rocky coast, invetigatimg historical landmarks, ie. Quoddy State Park location of the first sunrise on the entire east coast of the United States, ATV'ing on the Sunrise Trail, and beaches. The sunrise trail is the only Maine department of transportation operated trail. The trail provides more than 100 miles of accessing blueberry barrens, local restaurants. Balsam Valley Amphitheater, coastal scenery and much more. We've had an enjoyable stay and would come here again. - Arnold Clay

This is a campground that they are in the process of building. Very, Very primitive. Mostly dirt and very little gravel. The mosquitos are knocking on the door to get in!! I would not recommend this unless you are despite. May be nicer as time goes by. No office (hosts living in a small trailer) and check or cash only. - Cynthia Boyle
Oct 2019 - $35.00
Quiet campground, seems more for empty-nesters and seniors than families. Grounds are well maintained, fire pit and covered patio picnic table. Our site wasn't quite level, but a few boards corrected that. The owner is a super nice man, very helpful. Rear end levelers were way too short, but the owner supplied us with boards for them to make contact with the ground. Lobsters delivered to our door were delicious and perfectly done. WiFi was strong, but air TV channels were nonexistent for us. No cable. - Patches

Small campground and owners are very friendly. Plenty of room to walk the dogs. Owner has even made a trail alongside the shoreline. this camp ground is about 90 minutes from Bar Harbor but the drive was very pretty. - LakeAnnaLabs

We had planned to stay for a week but ended up staying only one night. We were told there were hookups on our site but when we arrived we found electric and water on the curb side of the trailer - none on the customary side. Our standard length 30A cord would not reach so made due with a 15A extension cord. As far as we could tell our site, #20, was not actually wired for hookups. The manager was friendly when we eventually met her. This is a rural campground so access to management is only for a few hours in the evening.
The campground seems clean enough but is obviously an old campground which needs updating for big rigs. It was most inconvenient to pull our 33' fiver up to the office only to find no adequate turnaround. There is limited to no cell coverage in the part of Maine. I never bothered to test the WiFi for internet access nor bothered to see if there was any TV cable connection. We spent most of time looking for a more adequate campground for our needs.
On the positive side, the tent sites looked very nice, clean and spacious and it was marvelously quiet. No traffic noise at all.
We will not stay here with our 5th wheel again. - kayaking RVers

This is the worst campground we ever stayed in. The bath rooms were falling down and were filled with spider webs: discussing. - ClassB
Jun 2008 - $30.00
We had traveled from the mid-west to visit family and had to move after two of the 10 nights we had booked because the water (was told before arrival that everything was ready) was not on and would not be for at least a day. This "day" turned into multiple days but we were offered a "pail" if we needed more water. We did have power and sewer, but without water available, our basic needs could not be met. I can say that not only do we not recommend this campground, we will never return to it. - JBH

Wow! This will be a real gem with such an awesome view and location. There are new owners (who are very friendly) and many improvements are on the way. Closest to the water are tent sites, and RV sites which are 30 amp and water. These sites are pretty close together, short, and un-level. Would love to see these sites upgraded with 50 amp and longer, level sites. The sites nearer to route 1 are longer with decent spacing and are fairly level. Most of these sites have a slice of a water view. Being close to route 1, it is noisy especially during the day but it quiets down significantly at night (at least during the shoulder season). There is no OTA or cable but satellite worked fine in our site( it wouldn't in most). Verizon was very strong with 4g 5 bars. The campground WII FI was just okay -it either worked or didn't. The main downside is the dust from the dirt roads. Our toad was dirty from top to bottom just from people driving by. I hate speed bumps but they would be handy because despite posted signs to drive slowly most people don't. The water supply here is great - hair feels good, water tastes good, and washes off cleanly. You will witness some beautiful sunsets. There is a path down to the water where you can walk around on rocks and perhaps see seals chasing their dinner. Seafood markets abound here and everything we bought was fresh and delicious. It's only 10 miles to the Schoodic part of Acadia. We spent a lot of time at this special place and it is soooo much quieter than Mount Desert in Bar Harbor. We did visit Mount Desert a couple of times and it takes 45-60 minutes to get there depending on traffic. We fell in love a little bit with this area, so we will definitely return! - Free

Loved staying here. Quiet, beautiful views of the ocean and very clean with very grassy sites. Easy access to both national parks. and had no problems driving or parking. Sites are gravel with a fire ring and picnic table. - Joe Dasaro
