Overall Rating:

Great campground with plenty of amenities. Large spaces that are slightly sloped, but we had no problem getting level. The seasonal campsites are not junky like like they are at so many private campgrounds. They have games and books available in the laundry. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Clear skies for pointing our satellite dish. We got great TMobile service and the campground has really good free wifi. Great location to explore Bangor, and an easy day trip to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park (about 40 miles). We camped at Holden Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Good, clean, calm, park, with no demerits. FHU, good wifi, some OTA channels, open skies for satellite, level gravel pull-thru sites that were plenty long and far enough from the neighbors, RV repair and supply shop next door, and a good base for exploring Bangor or a day trip to Bar Harbor and Acadia. The staff and neighbors were all friendly and relaxed --- "sure you can check out an hour later" --- that kinda thing. We camped at Holden Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The Stephen King tour is excellent, but book a few days early. Great ice cream at Blueberry Hill Dairy, especially Chocolate Lover's Chocolate.

Overall Rating:

Great base from which to explore Bar Harbor while avoiding the crowds in the campgrounds there. Spacious sites stepping down a slight hill, had a bit of an issue leveling but it worked out. All utilities worked well, including wifi, and I was out in the open so my satellite worked. Would definitely stay here again. Be forwarned that taking a large RV into Bar Harbor itself could be challenging due to the narrow streets and the crowds, even in the off season. We camped at Holden Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Our site was level with central hook ups. The wifi was ok at the site along with several channels on the rabbit ears. This is a very clean park with very helpful people. If any negative, it would be the price. We camped at Holden Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

We stayed at this park due to its proximity to where our generator was being repaired. We called in advance and left a voicemail regarding availability and requested someone return our call, but no one ever did. So we just showed up around 3:30 to find that the office was closed and a sign on the door listed sites that were available and advised to put cash in the box or if you had a credit card to go next door to the RV sales and pay. After going next door to pay with a credit card the person there had no clue about taking payments for the RV park. So we just had to pay in the morning. The park is nice and accessible to big rigs. Electric is 50 amps or less, water and sewage also. The Wi-Fi was free and was very fast, and it is a good thing that the person at the RV sales department knew the password. Overall not a bad park to stay for a night or two as a necessity but not where I would consider taking a vacation for a season. We camped at Holden Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

They don't book reservations online at this time you still have to call. I suggest calling well in advance and securing a site as the office seems to be periodically closed from time to time even in the early afternoon, and they don't return phone calls quickly.

Overall Rating:

We stayed 2 months and have made return reservations for 3 months next year. Site rate reflects long term stay (but not seasonal). We've looked at every other campground for about 30 miles around and this is the best value for the money. Clean, neat, quiet, friendly, great customer service, nice pool. Roads are spacious and both back-in and pull-through sites are up to 80 feet long, easy in and out. We parked a 33' class A, a tow dolly and our car with room to spare. Easy access, close to Bangor and within easy reach of Acadia National Park. Wi-Fi strong and reliable. Not much in camp store but less than 2 miles to Wal*Mart and there are 2 RV parts/repairs/supply stores next door (one on each side). If in the area--strongly recommend. We camped at Holden Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Stopped for an overnight. No one in office (Sunday afternoon) left payment in payment slot at office. This place has some long term campers. All were friendly. This campground was very quiet day and night. All utilities worked site was level. Would stay again if in area. Would recommend for short or long stay. Overall Rating:

We used this park because it is near Bangor and right next door to a RV repair business. This campground has some seasonal sites but many sites for travelers. Most site are pretty level. Everything is very clean and pretty new. Two thumbs up on the toilet/showers for being well cared for. Easy access from the highway. Owners are nice and give great customer service. Good spot to spend a night or a few days while visiting the area. If we needed to stay in the area again we would stay here. We camped at Holden Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
