$52 / night but we averaged $28 for 4 nights using Passport America. W/E30/I Beautiful level grass site overlooking a lake. Satisfactory open spacing between sites. Downtown Bar Harbor and Cadillac Mountain only about 20 minutes away. Only downside is that internet access was poor. Would definitlely stay here again!!! - Teddi2
Sep 2018 - $80.00
A very nice park with great wifi and cable tv. Sites are reasonably level and of adequate size. The restrooms and showers are a little dated but kept very clean...except when there are a large number of tent campers using them because it is hard to keep up with the traffic in and out. We were there Labor day weekend, thus lots of tents. A free bus to Bar Harbor runs frequently throughout the day. Beware of the heavy cruise ship days. Labor day four ships unloaded 7,000 passengers downtown. Had to walk in the street to get around. The park is very expensive but I got a 20% veterans discount. Would stay again. - Geodoc
Aug 2018 - $85.00
Good location for visiting area. Expensive, but this is Bar Harbor in prime tourist season. Large campground with sites of varying size. Our site was pretty level, others were definitely not. Some waterfront sites, but not 50 amp. Sites are close, like all in the area. Good hookups, good 50 amp (hot during our stay so we were thankful) Decent WiFi. Pool was cleaned up while we were here. We didn't use, but it was busy. - Motorhome girl

Convenient to Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park and the rest of Mt Desert Island. Level, spacious gravel sites. Open to the sky so satellite TV available. Wonderful sites on the water are available.. Very helpful staff. Lobster shack right down the road and shopping 15 minutes away. We would stay here again. - dutch star
Aug 2018 - $85.00
Great water view if you are close enough. We were able to see it when sitting outside. Horrible WiFi! Did not work at any time of the day. Connect and then disconnected over and over. Would have definitely rated higher if this worked. Poor At&t reception in this area. - jevans0005
Jul 2018 - $100.00
Beautiful view of water and sunsets. Swimming at high tide. Small store. Clean bathrooms. Dog friendly. Expensive - it would have been cheaper to stay in a hotel! - michelle b

Jul 2015 - $33.00
We had planned to stay for a week but ended up staying only one night. We were told there were hookups on our site but when we arrived we found electric and water on the curb side of the trailer - none on the customary side. Our standard length 30A cord would not reach so made due with a 15A extension cord. As far as we could tell our site, #20, was not actually wired for hookups. The manager was friendly when we eventually met her. This is a rural campground so access to management is only for a few hours in the evening.
The campground seems clean enough but is obviously an old campground which needs updating for big rigs. It was most inconvenient to pull our 33' fiver up to the office only to find no adequate turnaround. There is limited to no cell coverage in the part of Maine. I never bothered to test the WiFi for internet access nor bothered to see if there was any TV cable connection. We spent most of time looking for a more adequate campground for our needs.
On the positive side, the tent sites looked very nice, clean and spacious and it was marvelously quiet. No traffic noise at all.
We will not stay here with our 5th wheel again. - kayaking RVers
Aug 2011 - $32.00
This is the worst campground we ever stayed in. The bath rooms were falling down and were filled with spider webs: discussing. - ClassB
Jun 2008 - $30.00
We had traveled from the mid-west to visit family and had to move after two of the 10 nights we had booked because the water (was told before arrival that everything was ready) was not on and would not be for at least a day. This "day" turned into multiple days but we were offered a "pail" if we needed more water. We did have power and sewer, but without water available, our basic needs could not be met. I can say that not only do we not recommend this campground, we will never return to it. - JBH

Nice quiet park with a view of the ocean. This park is north of the Bar Harbor area so it's quiet. Nice grassy site with a gravel driving surface. The picnic tables have pavilion roofs over them. We enjoyed the hiking path and benches by the water. There is no cable or OTA, they have a nice selection of DVDs to borrow. The laundry is clean, one washer, one dryer. The owner is on site and keeps firewood and ice available. I think he can arrange for lobster, but we did not do that. - K5R
Sep 2018 - $34.00
This is a small but well maintained campground that overlooks a tidal river tributary of the ocean. The river basin that abuts two sides of the park empties twice a day provides a continually changing water view-which can be enjoyed from the benches placed along the waters frontage by the owner. - cdrfred
Aug 2018 - $35.00
Great spot! Roads are gravel and in good condition. Sites are grass and are very roomy with lots of trees for privacy. All sites were easy to get in and out of - both back in and pull throughs. We saw several 45' Motorhomes come and go with no problems. The owner has mowed many areas and trails through out the property so it was nice for walking the dogs. Also there is a nice walking trail along the water. There is a medium size grocery store not too far but most things are not close by. This was our favourite RV Park so far this summer and we plan on returning. We have a 38' motorhome. - Bosn

Sep 2018 - $48.00
New owners bought this in June of 2018 so any older reviews don't pertain. The first thing they did was upgrade the wifi, and its the best we have ever had, in 10 years of full time RVing. New owners were great- we had a problem with our Jeep battery and he loaned us a charger. Some of the sites are waterfront. Ours was, and was pretty level, water and electric only. Access roads are plenty wide, and there are big sites for large rigs. In the office he has a book with the local restaurant menus and one with local hiking trails. It was very quiet, and reasonably priced considering the area. We would definitely stay here again. - Soos
Aug 2018 - $49.00
We were a last minute reservation. We pulled in around 9pm and the staff was so friendly setting us up with a great site. Since it was dark we really couldn't tell what was around but were pleasantly surprised with the beautiful water view in the morning. Would have stayed longer but we had reservations within Acadia. Would stay again! - Natalieagall
May 2018 - $46.00
We were in a site right on the water. It was beautiful. It was a pull-in site with gravel and grass around the sites. It is a very basic, small campground with no wifi (at least at the sites on the water). The sites near the road include sewer. There is a dump station. The ones near the water are only electric and water. If you are interested in spending most of your time in or near Bar Harbor, there are many closer campgrounds. However, if you like peace and quiet, this is the campground for you. Considering there are no amenities, we thought the price was a little high. - Ceil-54

Aug 2018 - $45.00
Beautiful and relaxing setting for this small RV park overlooking the water in Winter Harbor. The park has only 10 sites, but the views and the atmosphere are phenomenal. The camp hosts were fantastic and made us feel very welcome. The sites are gravel with grass between the sites and down the small hill to the fire pit area. The park has a small laundry room and their wifi worked. The drive to the main area of Acadia NP is about an hour. See our full reviews and pictures at thegilliamsisland. - Gary Gilliam
Jul 2018 - $52.00
This is a great little park. Only 10 sites. Some shared hookups which means some sites are back-in and for a motorhome you do not face the water. But the owner allow you to pull in anyway and run your Hookups under the motorhome which is what we did. They noted this situation on phone during the reservation so that we were aware of the situation. Owners were great and provided much information about the town and area. We will return. - kgk
Jun 2018 - $45.00
The onsite owners are wonderful hosts. We stayed here 8 nights in our 35 ft 5th wheel. Stay 8 nights & get the last night free. The Schoodic Peninsula area of Acadia NP is fantastic. There are only 10 sites @ this facility. Communal fire pit. Several of the sites are very close together, but in my opinion the wonderful view of Winter Harbor more than makes up for that. We will return, & we hauled our 5th wheel all the way from north FL! No onsite bathrooms/showers, but there are $4 very nice showers within walking distance, or just use the shower on your RV. - Eric H

Oct 2018 - $25.00
Schoodic Woods Campground September, 2018- $25.00 Site B27 Overall Rating: Acadia National Park There is also a Acadia National Park entrance fee but free with Golden Age pass (America the Beautiful Lifetime Pass) This is a beautiful campground that we stayed three nights with an inviting check-in lodge with the fire burning, nice chairs for sitting down using the internet etc. Outside they have a waiting area with benches, bike and pet tie up poles and water bowls for your pets Two loops - A Loop with about 50 sites, twelve of those have 30 amps and the rest 20 amps. A walk in tent area with 9 sites all carry in. The B Loop has 33 sites with w& 30/50 amps. The sites are huge with privacy and as these trees grow there will be even more shade in the next ten years. The bathrooms are clean, clean, clean and new. No showers and the rangers can tell you where to go for fee showers in the area. There is internet at your site but the ones near the bathrooms have better connections. This park is less than three years old. There are bike trails on gravel, roads, sites, dump station, and the lighted walks all around the park with trail signs. Ranger talks some nights. Pets are welcome and even on the free shuttles that go around the area to Schoodic Point and the villages in the area. The park has bags around the park to pick up after your pet.. Great drivers on the free shuttles, you wave them down anywhere and if you want to be dropped off in the villages at a restaurant they will take you to the door as long as its along the. This section of Acadia takes about an hour plus from the Bar Harbor area to get here 17 miles north of Ellsworth then north and it is beautiful. There is a ferry ($) in Winter Harbor that can take you over to Bar Harbor (no cars). Sometimes you can see seal pups on the rocks as you ride around or hike. Bi. - gsnakehill
Oct 2018 - $25.00
Fantastic newish campground in the Schoodic Peninsula section of Acadia National Park. Sites are huge, private, flat, and gravel. We were there during a massive rainstorm, and the drainage was excellent. No mud anywhere. One of the few national park campgrounds that has hookups and is big enough for big rigs. Restrooms were new. No showers. There was a note on the wall with a list of public showers (all very expensive). AT&T and Verizon were both fine. Keep in mind that the Schoodic (pronounced SKOOdic, not SHOOdic) Peninsula is about an hour's drive from the rest of Acadia, which has both advantages and disadvantages. The Schoodic side is quiet and peaceful, but most of the famous parts of Acadia are a long way away, over a traffic choked bridge. - AnnP
Sep 2018 - $25.00
This was the quietest, most spacious, all alone in the woods by yourself feel campgrounds we have ever been to. The only noise you will hear is the fog horns and boats on the ocean. We booked at the last minute when someone canceled. 11 nights in the same spot. B3 1. showers: @ schoodic Marine Center 1.6miles from campground-$4 for 6 min/or winter harbor inn 1.6 miles away for $20 for 45 min towel, washcloth, soap, shampoo. bath at, bottle of water/or another campground 13.6 miles away, $5 per person, $7 a couple or $10 a family. Many people had portable grey water containers they dumped at the dump station. 2. Restrooms: 1 at the hike in sites, 2 in loop b and 2 in loop a, very clean, has sink out side for washing dishes, cold water only 3. Dump-station: at the end of loop b, easy in and out, has fresh water fill there also. 4. My Campsite: B3 electric and water: was on the edge of the woods and had a 155 ft driveway, pull thru. Excellent site. Lots of wildlife. Other campsites in loop b are also large and spacious, pull thru, back ins and parallel park. Loop a are for smaller units (25 ft max strongly enforced) and tents. Water is available in loop A but not at your site. 5. Wifi and cell: They have wifi but it did not work consistently at my campsite, was told it works at the restrooms. att: 2 bars and antenna tv got 12 channels. 6. noise: the only thing we heard at the campground was boats in the harbor during the day. You are spread so far away from each other, we could not hear anyone even talking. 7. Night rules: no out door lights on to include string lights, tiki torches and bug zappers. It was wonderful at night to see the stars without all the light distractions. This is enforced. Someone decided to have speakers outside with music blaring, that came to an abrupt stop also. First campgrounds I have been to that enforces all rules, was a great stay. cons: electric went down when we were out hiking. - hiker13

Sep 2018 - $60.00
This park is very unusual in that you select your own site, then go back to the office to tell them where you are located. They have a full range of sites from primitive to full hookup pull-throughs. The park was very full during our visit even though it was late in the season (they close on Columbus Day. I would rate our site as average - narrow drive, on a slope (not level), and needing to be mowed. The entrance to Acadia National Park (the main local attraction) is about 4 miles away. - farmboy25
Sep 2018 - $40.00
Very nice park close to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. We would rate this a 10 but there are some odd things about this campground. They only take cash, no advance registration causing a scramble for a good site, "signs signs everywhere signs", the unwritten no dog alone in the RV rule, and last the 25 cent showers. None of these things would stop us from staying there again. - mojomoho
Sep 2018 - $44.00
This is a very large property and in many ways resembles a state park. They do not take reservations or credit cards, or assign sites. About ½ the sites have no hook-ups, ¼ are w/e only and ¼ FHU. There are only a few 50 amp sites, but only cost $2 extra per day. Because of the reservation issue, we tried to arrive early, but traffic and weather got us there mid-afternoon, but there were sites available. Check in staff was friendly and helpful. They provided us a map and indicated the sites that were open. We selected one of two that appeared most level. The next day we moved to a 50 amp site that was more level. We were not in the ocean view area, but we checked it out and where we were was fine. The interior roads are mostly gravel as are the sites. There area in between the sites is grass/gravel and quite uneven. The utilities were located mid-site and convenient to where we had to be to be level. There was good water pressure; the voltage was occasionally low down to 115v. There was no cable TV and just a few antenna stations, but the Wi-Fi was very good. Most of the sites in my area had a tree. the scenery was state park like; a field of wild flowers in front and a row of forested back-in sites in the rear. This was a very good camping experience, and now that I know how there system works, would not hesitate to return. - Martini
