Overall Rating:

Stayed 3 nights in June 2019. This looked to be the nicest RV park in the area. We had a good RV site in the back of the park with full hook-ups. For the first two nights we had no neighbors, so enjoyed the relative privacy. When Saturday came around, the park filled up and it was very busy. Lots of folks from Quebec. Overall a nice campground in the Old Orchard Beach area. Just know that it definitely has that RV park feel - lots of kids, dogs, raffles going on, folks who enjoy that resort-ish feel. We camped at Hid'n Pines Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We thought the campground was a very nice. We didn't use the restrooms, but the other areas were very clean and well taken care of. I gave them a 9 only because they didn't have any activities like other campgrounds of this quality, but I do realize you're there for the beaches and town activities, which we took part in. We camped at Hid'n Pines Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Ok campground with exceptional bathrooms. They were always clean and well stocked. The wifi worked very well too. This place would be a 9 or 10 if they had better sites. They were dirt/grass and had no patio etc. Also did not enforce parking rules or number of people per site. The site across from us had one trailer, two shelters, one tent, two cars, two motorcycles and one truck. All at the same time. wow! what a sight. We camped at Hid'n Pines Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This place is a pricey but the location is great, the bathrooms were some of the nicest and cleanest we've ever encountered. The sites are pretty close together and there were LOTS of little kiddos riding bikes all over the place, which is sometimes unnerving with vehicles and trailers using the same roads. There is a nice grocery store about 10 minutes away (by foot) and you can easily walk into town in less than 20 to 30 minutes, which is very convenient. There is also a little trolley system which is only $1 per person but we elected to walk. There are lots of little shops and restaurants in town and it was buzzing!!! We camped at Hid'n Pines Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Check in went smoothly and the clerk was friendly and informative. Getting to our site was a little awkward. We could see our site from the front gate but it was suggested to go up and around. It would have been easier to drive straight to it. All the roads are nicely paved, but we found them to be a bit tight (turns/trees). Once at our site we found it to be a little tight to the neighbor behind us. We left our rear awnings in so their campfire sparks wouldn't cause damage. It's not very often that we have come across a campground that is this clean. Our site was pretty much spotless (including fire pit). Staff would stop their golf carts to pick up the smallest piece of trash. The bathrooms were quite possibly the cleanest we've ever seen (showers, too) any time of the day. Everywhere we walked was equally as clean. Although they were not sold out, it was pretty busy. Overall, it was pretty quiet at night (except for the blasted train whistle!). Tons of kids that were not too quiet in the early mornings. All the staff we interacted with were helpful and friendly. We camped at Hid'n Pines Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

This was our first visit to OOB and sadly, we didn't love the area. We drove to Kennebunk/Kennebunkport and loved that area and would recommend the trolley tour.

What can I say, other than the folks there are super super nice, it was mostly quiet (not traffic noise, but frequent train whistle), and the bath house was one of the cleanest ever! We were near to one of the bathhouses and I swear the guy was there cleaning every hour.

Some sites are tight, some spacious. They want to fit you in based on size of your rig. We were given a number of sites to look at when we checked in. No one stayed next to us so if felt larger then it would have if all the sites were full. This said, all the sites are nestled in nicely among the trees.

Pool and playground areas looked amazing, although we did not use either. We are thinking this will be a great place to come back to for a few days next summer with the grand-kids. An oddity was that the fire 'rings' were used washer drums. On the one hand, they were portable, on the other hand, they were tall and narrow, so the fire was not as visible. We will be back.

Our rate was off season and for W/E only (it had cable too, but that normally is more in the high season). They wanted to add $10./night for a sewer site when we arrived. We camped at Hid'n Pines Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

You can walk to downtown Old Orchard Beach, which was nice (about 1/2 mile - 15 minutes). Small store and hardware store a few hundred feet down the road.

We stayed for 5 nights and had another couple and their daughter join us. Our daughters really enjoyed the heated pool and playground. Old Orchard Beach is half a mile down the road, thus an easy walk, and there is a trolley that stops just outside the entrance to the campground. That makes it a quick trip and eliminates the need to drive into town and park. The rest rooms were sparkling clean and all the employees were very nice and helpful. We camped at Hid'n Pines Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

We enjoyed two day trips while there, one to Peaks Island via a ferry from Portland and the other in Kennebunkport. If you go to Kennebunkport beach park on the side streets a block off the water front. The parking on the waterside require permits which run twenty dollars a day.

We were very impressed with this campground. We read reviews on the other area campgrounds and are glad we selected this one. The staff is friendly and helpful, and seen cleaning the vacated sites daily. The beach is a short walk away, but there is also a trolley stop at the campground. The campground was very quiet at night. We camped at Hid'n Pines Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

The cost was more than we usually spend, but it was a holiday weekend at the beach, so kind of expected. The extra costs for children seems absurd, tells me they don't want families. The paved road and grassy sites are very nice, adequate space and hook ups. When we booked and upon arrival they are overly concerned about people leaving dogs in their trailers, state it could lead to immediate expungement. The location to town it good, trolley picks up out front, or short walk, plus there is a supermarket one block away, which is good as they have no store. But they also have no activities and scarcely any amenities at the campground, yet there were tons of families. Next door at their sister campground they have over-the-top activities and amenities, but not open to us. We had friends staying next door but would have to pay guests fees to visit them. They state they have separate finances, so? We may stay here in the future as it was clean and located conveniently, but may first try a few other campgrounds. We camped at Hid'n Pines Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We camped here the during the week after Memorial Day and were nearly the only people around. Given that, our site was fine. Lots of grass. I imagine during the high season that it would be cramped here. This campground is immaculate and there is a nice pool and playground. Not much to do for kids. The rec room is small and there is no store, although you can buy wood and ice at the check-in area. Easy walk to a grocery store and about a mile walk to the beach. We camped at Hid'n Pines Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Found this CG to be a very clean and neat place, sites were big and easy in and out; we were in site 634. They constantly were cleaning the grounds and restrooms, staff was friendly, well laid out. Trolley to the beach at the entrance $1.00 each way. Will def. stay again as it was a very relaxing CG. Not a lot for the kids to do but ride there bikes and go to the beach. Great place to host your travels around the beach areas. We camped at Hid'n Pines Family Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a nice and clean park. We looked at each other when we first pulled into our site wondering if we had made a mistake, but it was just different than we are used to. The campground is quiet, and they will enforce that as a rowdy crowd well after quiet hours was bounced out the next day (off went 5 trailers!). I see this as a plus! The game room only has 5 games, but the playground is VERY nice. The snack shack is cheap, and the pool is heated and in good condition. Our dogs loved to be walked around here, and it is a very quick bike ride to the beach; you just need to get up the hill (but then coast down the other side). No kids activities that we saw but I was told things don't get going until July. Other campers/seasonal folks are very friendly, but most of the kids on the weekend we went spoke French as it was Quebec's long weekend. After being away from Canada for 20 years, my French didn't come close to cutting it. The bathrooms/showers are very clean, and the folks here take pride in the campground. They are a little over bearing with the dog rules, but who likes noisy dogs wrecking your stay, so I can understand. Thankfully we have well behaved dogs. We camped at Hid'n Pines Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
