We had a pull thru site ( 840 in the Black Forest area )that was long enough for our 40' 5 th wheel and our pickup in front after disconnecting. The site was level and wide . The utilities were very easy to connect to . They were changing over their cable system and gave us a box to use which worked well . Wi fi worked well also . The office staff was very helpful and the maintance man was very pleasant to talk to . It was the end of the season so the pool was closed . The campground is close to the beach and all of the activities at downtown . There is a trolley picked up at the front gate . We will be returning in the spring. We camped at Old Orchard Beach Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

I'll be honest ... this is not the type of campground we usually frequent. We needed a place to hide during Labor Day, and they had an opening. The staff in the office is not very friendly - almost rude even. They don't give you any information other than the standard map of the campground. No information on the trolley even though it stops right at the campground. Now the young men who worked the gate were very friendly so kudos. Interior roads are okay but can be tight when people park their cars on the side of the road. There are several different areas. Tall Pines is only seasonal. The other areas are a mixed bag of seasonals and transient. Bear Brook and Black Forest have more trees. A few sites may have satellite access but most will not. These are actually the nicest sites in my opinion. We were in the Grove section near the front. It is more open so satellite is possible in most sites. There is decent spacing between sites but no privacy. Our site was a short back in site with gravel and grass. We had to back the motorhome all the way up to the fence and still had to park the car sideways. They have cable but you had to use a box provided when we were there. WI-FI in the Grove was terrible. It would work for a few minutes then go on the blink. We gave up and used our hot spots (Verizon was 4g 2 bars). It really irks me to pay $73 a night, and the internet doesn't work. Road noise (especially motorcycles) can be heard throughout the park pretty much all day and night. It is noisier in the Grove section as it is right by the highway, and the trolley stops there. The store has some basic supplies but is a major rip off. They wanted $4.50 for a quart of half and half. On the plus side, the campground has lots of entertainment - wiffle ball court (didn't know there was such a thing), corn hole, swimming pool, pool tables, and a basketball court. The campground is convenient to the beaches, Portland and Kennebunkport. IMHO it is nowhere near worth the price. We camped at Old Orchard Beach Campground in a Motorhome.

Very nice campground. Nice helpful staff. Some wooded, some out in the open sites. We got a site out in the open. Lots of ammenities. Nice pool. We ate at the snack bar for breakfast. Talk about yummy blueberry pancakes. We wish we could have stayed longer, but time to move on. Watch our Rvacationer video on You Tube. We camped at Old Orchard Beach Campground in a Motorhome.

Outstanding. It is a gated, beautifully maintained CG. Lot's of perm's/seasonal new park models, but a huge area for travelers. Site was perfectly level, clean, fully operational. Wifi was super fast and free. Staff were friendly, helpful and professional. We would stay here again without hesitation. Worth the price. We camped at Old Orchard Beach Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very nice, newly updated, gated campground. There are 4 sections with Black Forest having some newly installed sites. It has a wide entrance for parking, asphalt roads, and long gravel pads. The sites are large with new picnic tables, nice fire pits, and large grassy areas between sites. We had good satellite reception and the wifi and other utilities worked well. We will definitely stay in this campground in the future. We camped at Old Orchard Beach Campground in a Motorhome.

Beautiful campground near Old Orchard Beach. Easy access to downtown by trolley ($1.00 ea way). Quiet, clean, secure, great sites and a friendly staff. A little pricey but worth it. Would stay there again. We camped at Old Orchard Beach Campground in a Motorhome.

The site we were assigned was very clean and with new equipment, the staff was very helpful. A bit cramped and there are no views of really anything but a wall...considering how close we were to the beach it's a good spot.

We stayed only one night, so this is a great overnight stay which we did on our way to Bar Harbor. We camped at Old Orchard Beach Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed here 2 weeks. Nice clean park. Loved trolley service for only a buck. Liked the dog area--used it daily. Drawback was poor Wi-Fi; always had to go to office and tell them to reboot to get working again. They showed little concern. Laundromat was expensive. Staff weren't very friendly. That being said, we did like this park and hope to stay a month next year as family is close at a nearby RV resort. Hopefully correction to Wi-Fi will be made. Most of the park is devoted to seasonals. They have their own pool non-seasonals not allowed. The pool for the rest of us is located a very long hike from the campground area behind the office. Level, gravel sites with lots of grass in between. We were there over the Memorial Day weekend for 4 nights. We camped at Old Orchard Beach Campground in a Motorhome.

Park is maintained very well and has many improvements. Park is divided into four sections. The first, upfront, is seasonal and rundown. This section is covered by trees but just does not look appealing. The next section is a nicely maintained park model area. They have their own pool. Next is the new Black Forest area which has nice 50 amp sites, most are back-in. The last area is a huge primitive camping area. We stayed in the Black Forest area. The spaces are gravel and fairly level although ours did go downhill significantly so I could see an issue for a motorhome. Also the site could have been a little longer to allow us to park our tow vehicle easily. Sites have ample spacing with grass/dirt in between. The Black Forest area is open but has large trees surrounding it so I was not able to use my satellite. They do have a good cable package. My issues with this park are four. If you say you have Wi-Fi then it should be available in the entire park. I was never able to connect. The primitive area is huge so if it fills up during the summer months I would think the park would be noisy and have issues with the pool and bathrooms. The pool is way down at the front of the park. A very long walk for those in the primitive area and Black Forest area. Lastly, if you need a restroom/shower, you are going to have to walk to find one. Plus if the park is full these restrooms could be very busy as there are not that many. We camped at Old Orchard Beach Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

First the good. The newer Black Forest upper area was roomy and relatively level. Small trees with forest all around and a heavily-wooded tenting area. Cable and water pressure OK. Gravel pads with some grass. You can take a trolley to the beach for $1 each way, which is good because parking at the beach is brutal and expensive. Free showers in clean bathhouses. There is an extremely nice playground and a large grassy area for dog play. And thereby ends the good. The bad: open air laundry room is expensive and machines only operate with cold water. Their brochure states that "Wi-Fi available in most areas of the park". Wrong. When it's working -- and that's not very often (I was only able to get on once in 7 days) - you can only get it near the office. Park is overpriced - at $55 you should get reliable internet and not have to drive up the road to McDonalds. No one in the office seems to be at all concerned about this. There are only a few pull throughs and they are up in the Black Forest area. The packed-in lower level looks like a low-rent trailer park with some rigs that don't look like they've been moved for years. The nicer pool is only for the park model owners in the area between the lower level and the upper Black Forest. The main pool is down on the road and it's extremely crowded at times. It appears that people come from outside to use the pool and they don't seem to police that. You can hear trains at night but they're not too bad. One of the biggest problems is the traffic on the road the park is on. It is very difficult to turn left out of the park or left into the park because there is almost constant traffic. It's extremely difficult to get out when pulling a large rig. Quiet hours start at 10:00 but aren't enforced. Some campers seemed to be having a "rebel-yell" competition at 12:05 a.m. one night and it took a while before someone came to enforce the quiet hours rule. We would definitely look into another park if we were back in the area. We camped at Old Orchard Beach Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We camped here after Labor Day and the "Big Rig" area was completely empty except for us. This section is relatively new and the owners appear to take pride in keeping it landscaped and neat. The sites are packed gravel and level. The Wi-Fi is limited to the office and laundry area. This area of Maine is great for exploring the various beaches nearby. Prices dropped in September. We camped at Old Orchard Beach Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for about 1 week and it was okay. The people behind us played their music loud but was made to turn it down at quiet time. My complaint was with the swimming pool, on the weekends anyone was allowed to come use the pool making it very crowded. People were making drinks and had beer on the outside of the fence. I don't believe we would stay here again. Also the office is not organized. We camped at Old Orchard Beach Campground in a Motorhome.

Very nice park. Big, lots to do. New "supersites" will be great once they mature with foliage etc, but are good sized and easy to access. We camped at Old Orchard Beach Campground in a Motorhome.
