First off, great price for what you get compared to many campground for the off-season. They keep the pools and hot tubs open long after most others are closed. We were able to enjoy the adult pool and hot tubs which was great. Our site was large and backed up to a pond which we like. We were their for the OOB car show which did not disappoint. There was plenty to do but because it was so nice and quiet this weekend we were able to sit and relax which was nice. We have been enjoying Baylee's for many years and will continue to do so. We camped at Bayley's Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Bayleys RV Resort, Scarborough, ME. $55., no discounts I can say that this IS a resort! We arrived on a Saturday afternoon and even in late September, there were a lot of people in the main pool, and kids on the playground, and on bikes. Next to the pool is a bar/restaurant that was closed for the season. Our site was in the back (north) part of the park, and the bumpy gravel road with speed bumps was annoying! I wish they would pave all the main interior roads. Our site was long enough, and very wide, had a picnic bench and fire ring. There was an ADULTS ONLY swimming pool and hot tub in our section, and a nice (but expensive) laundry room (5.50-6.50 per wash). There is a restaurant in this complex as well (closed for season) and shower house that was very clean and nice. My only complaint about them is they were not angled right, so the water pooled in the "dry" area. There are fishing ponds, kayak rentals, mini-golf, playgrounds, etc. they rent golf carts, and there was quite a bit of traffic through the campground over the weekend. Many people rent a site for the whole season, and leave rigs, etc. set up the whole time, but there was only a small area in the back of the park where it appeared people lived year-round and had wooden porches, etc. set up. I could see that this would be a very busy place in the summer, especially weekends. If you are camping with kids, and want things for them to do, this place would be great. If you want a more quiet experience, I would avoid Bayley's during the summer. We used this as a base to visit the area both N and S on US1. Easy day trips all the way down to Kittery. We camped at Bayley's Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Sam's club, Maine Mall, Walmart are nearby campground, and just down the street from the campground you can buy fresh lobster from the Turners for a good price. - look for sign on the right after Ken's restaurant and drive down dirt road (not with rig).

First time here, was very peaceful and clean. pools were still open and looked to be clean and well kept. Very nice place to stay. Our site was a slightly hilly front to back and had to use a extra blocking in the rear. We camped at Bayley's Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

A little pricey for what you get. Limited cable, poor WIFI, too many golf carts going over the 5 mph speed limit, no discounts offered, very expensive laundry facilities (although very clean) Early closing of the rest of the facility's amenities I.e. outdoor theater, pedal boats, go carts, mini golf, kayaks, canoes. Lots and lots of squirrels and chipmunks....(block all ports of your camper, we had a chipmunk get into our tank drain handle area), kept us up half the night worrying. Picnic table was rotted so we ate on one side not the other. One very positive thing was the buffet where we had lobster, very nice and the staff were excellent. IF we come back it will be early summer armed with rat traps. We camped at Bayley's Camping Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Located ½ mile from the Atlantic Ocean, Bayley's Camping Resort is an ideal place to stay. This resort certainly has their routine down to a science, beginning with the efficient check-in windows located near the gated entrance. Almost every possible activity is at your fingertips or nearby. At the property itself, guests have access to 4 heated pools (1 is adults only), 6 hot tubs, a poolside restaurant at one of the family pools, a bar & grille at the adult-only pool complex, laundry facilities, an entertainment stage with regularly scheduled professionals, 3 fishing ponds, plus a kayak launch on the Little River Estuary. Nearby, of course, is the Atlantic, to which guests can take 2 complimentary shuttles to Pine Point Beach and/or Old Orchard Beach. In addition to RV sites, cabins, rental trailers, and tent sites are also available. Our gravel site, with picnic table and fire ring, was in the Big Rig Section of the resort, which offered us plenty of room and clear satellite reception. However, because this area is located in a lower area of the resort, our Verizon phone service was spotty at times, first time this has ever happened in our full-time travels. The majority of RV sites within the resort are located in heavily-treed areas, so if satellite reception is important to you, you will want to stay in the South Sites near Ashley Pond. However, cable is available. One suggestion we would like the resort to consider is to create a wide fenced-off walkway/bikeway along the road between the North Sites and the South Sites. With the hundreds of children walking 4 or 5 abreast or riding bikes on the road, even into the dark of night (resort rules are not followed), it is very unsafe. Although the vehicle speed limit is 5 mph along the road, those driving golf carts certainly do not adhere to this, nor do the older children riding their bikes and following the cars very, very closely or racing past the cars. Hence the suggestion for a separate pedestrian/bike path. We camped at Bayley's Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Since we stayed at Bayley's for a month, in addition to going to the ocean, we had the time to visit Portland, Augusta, Kennebunkport, Brunswick, Cape Elizabeth, ME, and Portsmouth, NH. We also thoroughly enjoyed bike riding along the Eastern Trail, which has a parking area a couple of miles from Bayley's.

I would have rated the park a 10 except for two things. The WiFi did not work at all at any time of the day in the Big Rig section of the park. The main road through the park needs serious grading or, even better, paving. It would cut down on the dust generated by vehicles if the roads were paved. We camped at Bayley's Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

This is a nice park. The last time we stayed here, we had a lovely spot. This time however, I went with the recommendation from the girl in the office and accepted site P-4. It was a huge mistake. We stayed for two weeks and our site was very close to the game room, so peace and quiet was one thing we never got. There's constantly golf carts running around well over the posted speed limit. Trucks delivering at 4 am, etc. Pick your spot carefully and you'll have a nice time. Their RV tech was a godsend though! He works hard for his money. I hope the resort realizes how valuable he is to their operation. We camped at Bayley's Camping Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

The sites are nice and there are a lot of activities going on, which is nice, but you will pay for it. Unfortunately, we paid this exhorbitant fee and the trolley, activities center and mini golf was closed for most of our stay in late June. The activities center was advertised as being open and was actually closed.

Please be aware of all the charges prior to booking. You will pay a site fee, a fee for each person on top of the site fee (2 ppl included) and a fee for each family member's car or visitor.

The staff is unrelenting in "speaking to" campers about unwritten rules. We felt like we couldn't do anything without getting in trouble.

Great place for gram and gramps, but not anyone else. We camped at Bayley's Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

We camped here during Heroes Weekend where they show appreciation to teachers, fire, EMT etc... Campground is very large and the amenities are awesome. A true resort campground! Site 410 was a large flat back-in site. The pedestal was easy to reach as was the sewer. Electricity had sufficient power and the water pressure was great. Cable did not deliver the strongest signal as some channels did not work in the coach. We will take advantage of the off season rates at this beautiful place. Very large park with a long check in line when we arrived. The people behind us and about 2 sites away played their music VERY loud and VERY late. That part wasn't enjoyable at all and the park didn't seem to do anything about it. I guess some people think they're the only ones entitled to enjoy their vacation? Other than that, the place wasn't too bad. We flew kites with our kids in the large field there, rented the pedal cars which was fun and rented a golf cart to get around the park. Like I said it wasn't bad, but it certainly wasn't great for the money. The BBQ place that is close to the park was great though! We camped at Bayley's Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We booked our trip of nine nights months in advance and this was the one trip the family was most looking forward to all summer based on what we had heard from others. What we experienced was not as good as we hoped for. The good parts in no particular order: 1) there was a bunch of activities and facilities to use 2) the pools were nice, and the main pool with a cover and cafe were excellent to be at 3) great entertainment scheduled 4) camp store was well stocked 5) there is a ton of things to do in the area and the park was nicely located. 6) free trolley service was excellent the bad: 1) no one drives 5 miles an hour!... lots of dust, and unsafe conditions for people walking and biking 2) was expensive - most expensive place we have ever stayed 3) was noisy - neighbors (and neighborhood) partying until 1, 2 and 3 in the morning many... some quiet nights but more often than not noisy neighbor nights 4) golf carts everywhere and people driving them poorly.. often kids driving them unsafe. The whole park is one big golf cart track Overall - I'm not sure that we will return. This was a large park and if everyone even marginally followed the rules established by the park, it would be a better experience for all, but unfortunately that wasn't our experience and the park does not enforce anything. My perception after 9 nights there is that this is more of a party destination and less of a quiet and family destination. We camped at Bayley's Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

You don't always get what you pay for but... if you don't pay, you're sure not going to get it. Bayles's campground is a large park in the heart of southern Maine, very close to Old Orchard Beach. There is a trolley that runs from the campground to the beach and downtown. They have expanded the campground over the years to include many activities and amenities. The list of amenities just goes on and on, including 3 pool areas, 2 restaurants, 2 stores, fishing hole, mini golf open fields, many play grounds as well as a small theater for evening entertainment. (They even have a kids only hot tub!) The newest area in the back of the park has larger sites for for larger motor homes. This part of the campground s away from the main camping sites and features an adults only facility which includes a pool, 2 hot tubs, a cafe that serves food and drinks (beer, wine, prepackaged cocktail or even nonalcoholic soft drinks). The best part - no kids allowed :-) Overall, Baylee's has something for everyone. I stayed here and have already booked my return trip for next year. I've been to Old Orchard Beach area before and the downtown is ticky tacky with a boardwalk featuring rides, concessions and junk food - not my thing but it is what it is. However, southern Maine beaches are great and there is plenty of other things to do in the area.
