Very nice park coinvent to Bar Harbor area. We had to extend our stay twice due to medical reasons and the office staff worked hard to make it happen. Long pull throughs but not much room between sites. Will make this our park to stay when in this area. We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Nice park at a great value within 6 miles of the bridge onto the island with Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. Many of the spots are far too narrow for my taste, but they are so long that RVs can offset enough to still have a decent view and some space for a patio. The folks that run the place are great to work with, and it really is a deal for this area it seems. We did not use the pool or other amenities, but they looked well-kept and nice. We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Motorhome.

Site was long but very close to other sites. Some of the pull through sites in the "transient" section had a little more room on the sides but all are very long. Wifi and OTA TV were poor. No cable TV. Laundry and bath house were fairly far away. Sometimes difficult to make the turn out on to the main highway due to traffic, but location provides good access to Ellsworth and Trenton as well as Mount Desert Island. Satisfied with my stay but would probably look elsewhere next time. We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Very quiet, very loooong narrow sites for the non seasonal. Our site was probably the longest I have ever stayed in but very narrow as in another rig about 20 feet on either side. No cable TV, no trees so Direct TV worked. We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

1st the good stuff; Great location for Bar Harbor, especially if you take advantage of the fantastic & FREE local transportation available. As far as the price goes, pretty reasonable for the area. Now, the bad; Sites are 80% seasonal and stuffed in there like sardines. Reminds me of a low income housing project! Seasonals parked in our site virtually everyday because they have no room for the 5 vehicles at their site! 5 MPH speed limit enforced by the Road-Cone Commander, complete with orange cones and cardboard sign! Then, the barking, yipping, little rat-dogs. And last but not least, the mountain of trash bags - FULL of bear bottles & cans on the seasonal site next door. Pick someplace else... We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Very large campground with many spaces that were very long. Sites were very narrow though. Great location to visit Bar Harbor and Arcadia National Park. We used this campground as a base camp to do daily visits to Arcadia and Bar Harbor and did not use any of the amenities. Our initial site did not have sewer hook ups, but the staff worked very hard to find us a site a couple of days later that had hookups. Staff was very friendly and helpful about things to do in the local area. No Cable and Wifi was very weak. We ended up using our Mifi to get connectivity. Verizon coverage was great at the campsite, not so in the Park. Lots of seasonal visitors but most sites were well maintained. Would use this campsite when we return to the area. Site was more than long enough for our 41 ft motorhome and toad. We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Arcadia Park is a must. Lots of hiking trails and things to see. Make sure you go to Schoodic Point on the other side of Frenchman's Bay. Hike up to Bubble Rock and go to Cadillac Mountain, views were outstanding. Visit the Traveling Lobster for the best Lobster on the island. Great restaurants in Bar Harbor also.

We spent a month at Timberland Acres RV Park from mid-June to mid-July in a 39' fifth wheel. We stayed in a long pull-through site that was more than long enough for our fifth wheel, tow vehicle and a car. Most of the shaded sites are occupied by seasonal campers but the pull-through sites are in the open and have regular turnover. The staff in the office were very helpful. The campground is a few miles further from Acadia NP and Bar Harbor than some other campgrounds but is much more affordable and has bigger sites. The free shuttle bus into Bar Harbor runs from the Acadia Gateway Center which is four miles south of the campground. We plan to return to this campground. Would stay here again. Yes, it's not on the island however its quiet, big long spaces towards the back. Some so big I cannot believe they have not made them two. Only reason I did not give 5 stars is the sites need to be leveled and it could be done with only a little bit of work as they are not horrible. The guy who cleans up after one empties could start by just using his rake and pay attention. However a blade would fix most in about 15 mins. We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed for 29 days. No Good Sam discount offered. Half of the park as seasonals and those sites have shade. The only restrooms and shower facilities are located in this area. I did not use them because they were so far from where were camped. The laundry facilities are also located in this area. The remaining area is for short term stays and there is no shade. The first site we were given in the far back flooded twice in one week with 4" of standing water at our steps. The owner did move us to another site after we requested. We were told that they had another trailer coming in to the site so we would have to cut short our stay by one day. They did NOT refund the night we did not stay. They also charged us for electricity at .23 kilowatt. When I called the power company I was told they charge .17 a Kilowatt. We were overcharged by $54 dollars and the park management would not refund our money. What the park has going for it is the location. It is on the main highway to Bar Harbor. That aside, I would not recommend this park and I would not stay there again. There are many other parks in the area. We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed in site 117. Drive through in wooded section with room between the sites. I think this section is the best in the park. Many pull through sites in the field but no shade. Nice new plastic and metal picnic table and fire ring. Plenty of room for a big rig a car. Did have to level. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Close to Ellsworth for groceries etc. 30+ minutes to Bar Harbor for tours. Great location if you want to experience both Deer and Dessert Isles. Easy drive to Acadia. Would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Motorhome.
