Park is located about 15 miles from Bar Harbor, so a bit of a drive, but a scenic drive. The front part of the park has smaller sites that appear to be occupied by mostly seasonal occupants. The back part of the part has been developed for big rigs (both motorhome, fifth wheels and trailers). The sites are anywhere from 70 - 100 feet long, so plenty of room for car parking. There is also a good distance between sites so plenty of space to set up chairs etc. Each site has a fire ring and picnic table. Satellite reception was available in the larger sites, but would be hit or miss in the wooded sites up front. There was no cable TV but some channels available over the air. The WiFi was not great, but OK. We did not use the restroom so cannot comment. We did use the laundry room and the machines were clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful giving out information about the area. Two staffers were also available to do dog walking for donations which they then gave to the local animal shelter. We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This RV park was a real surprise ....set back from the road, it is kind of invisible. The front part of the park is gently rolling hills, lots of trees and seems to be for seasonal units. The back part is a massive open area with long, long, long level pull through sites for transients. 50 amps, full hook ups, this is a big-rig owners dream! Lots of space between the units, and very few trees to interfere with the roof-mounted satellite. The location is excellent, right off the main road to Mt Desert Island, and convenient to both Bar Harbor and Ellsworth and other towns along the coast. The office staff were super friendly and helpful ....they even offer welcome treats for pets and people!!!! We've stayed other places in the region on previous trips and drove right by this gem without noticing it. No more! This will now be our destination when traveling to Maine. We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Large park with very easy access, roads are easy to navigate and sites are long with plenty of pull throughs. However sites are kind of close together. Seasonals are along the tree line while transients are in the middle in an open field. Basic utilities are satisfactory, need a sponge ring for septic. Park has wifi which all though is regulated is fairly strong and sufficient for email, searching, news, etc. No cable. Over air is about 10 channels. Park is located approx 20 minutes from Bar Harbor with very easy access. Office is well run and efficient. Owners take great care in maintaining sites, facilities and order. Sites are fairly close together, our picnic table was approx 4 feet from neighbors septic. We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Motorhome.

Stayed 3 nights in a pull thru site, longest site I've ever seen and easy in and out. Power and sewer connections were easy hookups. Central to everything. Park was very clean. The help were very nice with lots of area info. Camp store was well stocked. We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Motorhome.

What a gem of a park! Timberland Acres was impeccably kept, spots were generous and everyone we dealt with was very friendly and helpful. Although we did not take advantage of the amenities such as the pool and shuttle to Acadia Welcome Center, they were great options to have available. We received a little welcome sample of delicious chocolate from Haven's - nice extra touch from an RV park that goes out of their way to accommodate their patrons! We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed four nights. Lots of information provided at check-in. Pull through site was more than long enough for my motorhome and tow. No difficulty navigating. Utilities conveniently placed and worked well except that the sewer connection was not threaded. In our part of the park the sites are in full sun with no vegetation at all. Really rather ugly. There is no Cable TV. There is wifi, but it is really a hit and miss affair. On future visits I may stay again, but only after checking the alternatives. We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Motorhome.

Great staff, clean facilities. Take Good Sam & Veteran discounts. Easy in and out. 1 miles from Acadia NP. Very long pull throughs. No cable which would have been nice to have as my Dish could not pick up all the satellites in Maine. Wifi was pretty good. We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Pull-thru sites are long enough for motorhome and toad. It appeared transient sites were all in an open field. Seasonal sites were back-in with lots of trees. Staff at check-in are very friendly. Really didn't notice much road noise as you are about 500 yards from it. As with most campgrounds in the Northeast there appeared to be a lot of seasonal campers but all were pretty well maintained. The owner does live on-site during the season. It is an easy drive to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Motorhome.

Nice park, centrally located. Close to Ellsworth for shopping needs and a short drive to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Front of park is heavily treed and suitable for shorter rigs that appear to be seasonal. Back of park can accommodate any size rig. We had the longest pull-through I have ever seen! Plenty of space between sites, nice laundry with plenty of machines. Management is helpful but not overbearing. Plan on bringing bug repellent. Mosquitoes were not terrible but made their presence known! We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Cabin.

Tips for other Campers:

Acadia NP on Mount Desert Island is a must see but plan a day trip to the section of park on Schoodic Peninsula. Stunning close up views of the shoreline.

We stayed before Memorial Day, so they offered a discounted price ($5 off high season rate). Site was way more than we needed, but it appears all their sites are very long and full hookup. 1 bathhouse for entire park - long walk from the general camping area. And their garbage / recycle bins were all the way to the front of the property; they did pick up trash at sites, but if you wanted to recycle, you had to transport it yourself. Sites had fire rings and picnic tables. We did not try their wifi as our cellular carrier had a good signal. We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Truck Camper.

Open sites large and well spaced. Good interior roads and level sites. Only one bathroom for the entire park of 200 plus sites. WiFi practically useless it was so slow. We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Nice park, handy to Ellsworth and Bar Harbor/Acadia. We had a good sized pull through but they had even larger ones that were huge too. Many seasonals along the outside perimeter. Main road was paved but very bumpy. Wifi was up and down on speed and reliability (wouldn't depend on it for working). Cell signal (Verizon) was 3 bars LTE. 1 trash location way at front, but they would pickup bags in front of your lot before 10am. Staff was friendly. There was a pool but we didn't use it. Price was ok considering location and we were there over Labor day week. We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Just outside Ellsworth. Check Helen's restaurant and Union River Lobster Pot for eats. Walmart, Tractor Supply, auto care, grocery stores 5 minutes away. 15 minutes or so to Bar Harbor and Acadia National park. Martha's restaurant in Ellsworth for breakfast is great!

We stayed here a week. Site was very nice, a lot of seasonals but everything is well kept. Our toad had a dead battery when we went to unhook and immediately someone showed up to give us a jump. We needed propane, which they have, but the hose wasn't long enough to reach to the driver side(have encountered this in numerous cgs), will give the office a call when we leave and someone will meet us at the propane tank.

CG hosted a Harvest Dinner at the pavilion, nice central location and covered. This was a complete meal, we just pulled in so we weren't prepared to bring anything.

Wifi is poor generally. Even in the off hours. We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a large campground with an open area (few trees) with long pull thrus with easy access for short term stays. There is a smaller treed area with is mostly seasonal. We were meeting up with friends to visit Bar Harbor and Acadia and was late with the reservation and was lucky(?) to get a spot in the seasonal section. The roads were narrow with sharp turns and lots of vehicles parked on the road. Our site had a rickety wooden deck. The families on our road had late night parties with kids and dogs running wild. The exit from our pullthru(?) site had a narrow 120 degree turn. Our left tires on the fifth wheel fell in a hole and we broke our leveling jack on the exit. We would be willing to pay a few dollars more and get a campground closer to Bar Harbor if we are ever in the area again. Our friends stayed in the open area and were very satisfied with the experience. We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Bar Harbor is a packed tourist trap with expensive restaurants. It is a must see - we can now cross it off our list. However, we do highly recommend the Union River Lobster Pot in Ellsworth. It is a little our of the way but worth the effort.
