Friendly staff made check in easy. They furnished area maps and information as a part of the process. Lots are spacious with sunny/open exposures. Site surface is gravel and features a picnic table. Power was stable during our stay.

Easy access to Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, and other tourist sites.

This is mostly a seasonal park with a limited number of spaces for short term parking. We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Try Thurston's Lobster on the sound end of Mt. Desert island in Bernard. Well worth the trip.

Also, if driving a toad, go to the summit of Cadillac Mountain. No RVs or trailers are allowed.

Overall Rating:

Fairly large park, about 15-20 miles from Bar Harbor. Be aware that the free shuttle to Bar Harbor/Acadia National Park, does not come out as far as this park; Narrows Too & the remainder of parks closer in all offer free shuttle service to all the points of interest that you will want to go & see. The only advantage to this park is that you are fairly close to a Walmart in Trenton just north of the park on hwy. 3. The park is laid out alright & utilities are good, just wish the shuttle came out that far (parking in Bar Harbor is a premium in the summer & the shuttle is a nice deal). We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Of course, lobster pounds are everywhere with a little more variety the closer you get to Bar Harbor. Ate at "Mainely Meat", where you can get decent BBQ or lobster or burger, etc. Attached ice cream shop offers quite a few flavors of dip or soft serve ice cream.

We had a back in space that was very small; really close to our neighbors. WiFi was hit or miss. Good Verizon signal. Staff were friendly. Interior roads are really bumpy. Quiet park; very few families and kids. Mostly the RV crowd stays here. We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Fast, efficient check in. Ladies were very helpful, informative about the area. CG was nice with the usual ho hum wifi. Free shuttle to the nearest bar harbor shuttle pickup was nice. Good pricing as any cg closer to Bar Harbor is noticeably more expensive. Will stay again if in the greater area. We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Motorhome.

We wanted to stay at a park fairly close to Acadia NP. We found some that were very expensive and looked a bit crowded.

Timberland Acres RV Park was convenient to Acadia and very affordable. They honor our vets by offering a military discount! Our site was a very long level pull thru in the back. There were no pesky trees to contend with and we never heard the road noise.

We definitely recommend this place and if we find ourselves in the area again we will stay here. We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Much more affordable campsite on the Trenton side of the bridge. Prices go up substantially as you cross the bridge, but those parks aren't really that much closer to Acadia NP. The sites in the back (190's) are huge and it is very quiet. The staff in the office are very friendly too!!!

We stayed at this park while visiting Acadia National Park. It was close enough to the park for us to be able to enjoy visiting, but it was also near the town of Ellsworth where there was a WalMart and other shopping options. Where the transient spots are located, the roads are wide and easy to maneuver. Our site was very long, lots of room to park our tow vehicle either in front or behind. We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Motorhome.

Doggie bag with a treat for the pups and chocolates for the people. Very good information about the area. Huge long sites. You won't have any trouble with getting your rig in. Nice, well laid out laundry. Nice camp store. They accommodated our wish to extend our stay even though we had to move sites. We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice park. The staff was really helpful and friendly. The sites are large, power good, water pressure good. The interior roads, although paved can give you some surprises with the dips, frost heaves and not marked speed bumps. We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is a large RV park with seasonal sites in a wooded area and nightly sites out in an open field. The pull-through sites are very long so even the biggest rigs will have no problem. However, these sites are fairly close together so depending upon how your neighbor is positioned in his site you may "brush shoulders". The people at the main check-in are very nice and provide a terrific info packet for Acadia National Park and surrounding area. Everything was in good shape and clean, including the restrooms. The driveways are asphalt with no potholes, however there are some seriously uneven areas that will have your RV rocking if you don't go super slow. Site pads are gravel with a picnic table and fire ring. We paid $48 per night for a 50 amp full hook up site with Good Sam discount. We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed in the park over a long fourth of July weekend. We used the park as a basis for our visit to Acadia. We found the folks in the office to be very helpful and friendly. The pull through sites were very long and more than enough space for our motorhome and toad. The laundry room had several machines and was well laid out. The bathrooms had several showers with good hot water and pressure. There were numerous amenities for families. There were many seasonals with some beautiful gardens. We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We tried both the Trenton Bridge and Beal's (SW Harbor) lobster pounds. Both were great! Also, we went to the Great Maine Lumberjack Show which we thought was great and not a corny tourist trap.

was in a 40' MH parked in back field area. Sites were large and we had a pull thru. some sites paved, others gravel but sites level. Great facitity near wineries (we visited 1 in Bar Harbor & 1 in Gouldsboro) and near Arcadia NP. We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Motorhome.

Nice campground with very long level sites. The interior roads are rough. We were in the open meadow area which allowed us to use our Dish satellite. Sites are well spaced. This is a very nice park serving both long-term seasonals and travelers. Traveler sites are very long, gravel, spacious, and level. Rate reflects October pricing; the park closed on Oct. 15. There is a book exchange in the laundry room which was very clean and well maintained. We didn't use their restrooms. Office/store had a nice selection of gifts and RV supplies. Hosts were very friendly and offered information about the area for shopping and sightseeing. Our Verizon MiFi was strong; we didn't use the park's system. We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a great location for touring Acadia National Park and the Ellsworth area. There are many locations to buy fresh lobster. Ruth & Wimpys (792 Hwy. 1, Hancock) was great for dinner and the Hannaford supermarket (225 High St, Ellsworth) had a great selection of fresh, natural, organic, and gluten-free foods.

We stayed in the wide-open meadow area with great satellite and cellphone reception. Forested areas are available. Good roads. Gravel, level, long pad. All the amenities, but we didn't use them because it was cold. Hosts are very helpful and accommodating. They are about ? the cost of staying in Bar Harbor, and it's only 10-15 minutes of pretty driving away. We would definitely stay here again in our 38' motorhome with towed Jeep. Eat at Union River Lobster Pot, about 10 min. away. Beautiful scenery, and the best lobster dinner I've had in our week of eating exclusively lobster. Lulu's lobster boat trip was a 10! We saw a lot and learned a lot. The Acadia NP Abbe Museum (next to the Gardens) is great--talk with the ticket taker, a well-educated anthropologist who knows everything.

Great park for access to Acadia National Park. Sites are spacious in open grassy area. Interior roads are rough but serviceable. Large area of long term units separated from transients. We were there over weekend when craft fair was going on inside park. Located on main road down to Bar Harbor so it can be a little testy getting out. Wonderful area - so much we wished we had stayed longer. We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
