Site was long but very close to other sites. Some of the pull through sites in the "transient" section had a little more room on the sides but all are very long. Wifi and OTA TV were poor. No cable TV. Laundry and bath house were fairly far away. Sometimes difficult to make the turn out on to the main highway due to traffic, but location provides good access to Ellsworth and Trenton as well as Mount Desert Island. Satisfied with my stay but would probably look elsewhere next time. We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

1st the good stuff; Great location for Bar Harbor, especially if you take advantage of the fantastic & FREE local transportation available. As far as the price goes, pretty reasonable for the area. Now, the bad; Sites are 80% seasonal and stuffed in there like sardines. Reminds me of a low income housing project! Seasonals parked in our site virtually everyday because they have no room for the 5 vehicles at their site! 5 MPH speed limit enforced by the Road-Cone Commander, complete with orange cones and cardboard sign! Then, the barking, yipping, little rat-dogs. And last but not least, the mountain of trash bags - FULL of bear bottles & cans on the seasonal site next door. Pick someplace else... We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Centrally located to do everything in the area. 20 minutes from Acadia National Park Visitor Center. Trenton Bridge Lobster Pound is the best place for food. Fresh or prepared, they are the best!

My husband and I stayed for 6 nights and visited Acadia NP every day. The park is very big and accommodating with very friendly staff. We were very pleased with our site and with the interior roads. The location was perfect as Acadia NP wasn't far away as well as a Walmart and many lobster pounds and a winery. There is no cable and only a few satellite stations, but we were able to get local news. We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area. Overall Rating:

Very well maintained privately owned campground. Seasonal area is a bit tight, but, well laid out with FHU sites. Pool looks good, but, I never used it. They are always having some kind of events there, Pancake breakfasts and such and it seems to be very well received too. Front office staff is superb and very friendly. Grounds crew is 100% on top of maintenance, probably best I have seen on that front. While it is strange that they only have the one bath area for all of their sites, in truth, I never ran into more than one other shower in use, out of the 5, the entire season, so it works. VERY well kept bathrooms by the way. Will most certainly stay again. We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Open sites large and well spaced. Good interior roads and level sites. Only one bathroom for the entire park of 200 plus sites. WiFi practically useless it was so slow. We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Just 14 miles from Acadia National Park with Cadillac Mountain, Mount Desert Island and Bar Harbor. Timberland Acres is a beautiful park, top portion heavily treed. Bottom portion is a large open meadow surrounded with large trees. Staff is welcoming and friendly. Campers are very friendly. Excellent Wi-Fi. Good cell phone coverage. TV is local only and only 3 or 4 channels. We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Good whale watching, walking, hiking and biking. Very active small town with lovely shops, restaurants and cafes.

Activities include game night, crafts for charity morning, music nite, morning exercise, ice cream social on Sundays.

Try lunch and or dinner at Helen's in Ellsworth just up the road. Good food and reasonable prices with super service. There is also a large Home Depot and Walmart in Ellsworth.

Stayed here while visiting Acadia National Park. The facility is nice with large pull-through campsites for transient campers. Seasonal campers and transient camping areas are separate. Easy access to the sites and no issues with any services. I would stay here again. We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Our site was a long, (approximately 100 feet) pull through, gravel site. I needed one board to level side to side. Each site had a table and fire pit. We had lots of rain, but the sites drained well. The access roads were asphalt, wide, and easy to maneuver on. The Wi-Fi was excellent. There was no cable and I could only receive two over the air stations. The staff was extremely friendly and great sources of information regarding local attractions. Very nice campground. We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here while visiting Acadia National Park. Campground was clean, free showers, clean pool, rec room for teens, large laundromat, 20% veteran discount for my husband. The only thing I did not like about the campground was it was so big. All the shady/pretty sites in front were permanent or seasonal & we were put out in the 'back 40' with nothing but site after site, no landscaping/trees/etc. Had a long walk to the only shower-no parking area close to the shower house itself. HOWEVER, the views at nearby Acadia more than made up for any shortcomings of the campground! If we return, we will probably check-out a smaller place. This is a nice place to stay. People who run it are very nice and when you register, they even give you wrapped chocolates! You need to show vaccination papers if you have dogs traveling with you which is fine with us. They have great pull through sites, level and very neatly organized. Nice laundry room. Wi-Fi is in a building near the front of the park so everyone is in there with their laptops. It would be a real bonus if you could access it at your trailer but glad they had it. It is nice, quiet and very tidy. A big place with lots of space, big sites and certainly big rig friendly, we saw quite a few there. And friendly people certainly do stay there as their ad says. Wi-Fi at the sites would make this place a 10. We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

The section of this park in trees is nearly all seasonal campers and some of the setups are getting a little seedy. The newer area is an open field. We camped a weekday in late September and most renters were gone - so nice and quiet. We had a good experience. Still only has Wi-Fi at Rec Room. It is about 15 miles to Mt. Desert Island entry. Wal-Mart, etc are very close. We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
