Oct 2015 - $45.00
This park has easy access and is big rig friendly with level sites, concrete patios, good utilities but is mainly a trailer park with many permanents. As their website describes, $45.00 a night with a three night minimum. Basically the only game in Frederick and is okay if you want three nights. - RJourney
Jun 2011 - $30.00
As others have mentioned, this is not an RV park: it's a mobile home park that added spaces for RVs. It's not very tidy, but it was adequate for what we wanted: to be close to Frederick. Most RV sites are full of people doing contract work in the area for 4-6 months. All spaces are pull-throughs with concrete pads, which was nice as we got a lot of rain. No shade at all. The manager was very helpful and accommodating and he seems to keep a close eye on the park. Lots of restaurants and shopping close by. And while it's not an RV resort, if we return to the area we would stay here again. - mauigirl7254
Mar 2008 - $27.00
This 'park' is NOT a campground. This is a former Mobile Home park that has been 'transitioned' to an RV camp (not campground). The only amenities are a laundry room. No Restrooms, no showers, no playground, no pool, we even have to mow our own grass!! The rates are very high ($800/month) but it does INCLUDE Electric (I have only used my propane sparingly for cooking). The manager is only here on Tues and Thurs from 10:00am-2:00pm. He is a nice guy, but not educated as to how a 'campground' should operate. Everyone here is permanent to semi-permanent and working in the area (Mostly men, very few families). I plan to be here until Jan 2010, when my husband hopes to return to the US (from working in Abu Dhabi, UAE) and we can finally retire and take off! The one thing that attracts people to this camp is the location. It is in the heart of Frederick, MD close to EVERYTHING! Very convenient location. - onthecoach

We stayed at this campground for an overnight stop on our way home. The campground is located in a forest, with paved roads and gravel sites. Sites are large, well separated, shaded, and private. RV/trailer sites have electric hook-up only. Water is available at a number of locations in the campground. OTA TV is limited, Verizon signal is good, and there is no WiFi. Restrooms and showers are clean and well maintained. There is no traffic noise. A dump station is located near the campground entrance. We would stay here again. - tnyankee
Jun 2013 - $30.00
Nice State Park in Maryland! Pleasantly small camping area, with only 34 sites. It was an enjoyable 5 night stay! The weekend nights were busier, which apparently had the drive by female campground supervisor needing to check on every site very often. A few comments and suggestions were a little unnecessary. The weeknights were a bit better with the male drive by campground supervisor(s) simply driving by and waving! The camp host was convenient and helpful when needed for information. Pet friendly park and campground! Shower/Restroom facilities were well lit, clean and in easy access for all campsites! Beautiful shaded campsites! Each site has a large well built picnic table and fire ring with grill insert and 2 lamp posts which were quite handy! All roadways in very good condition! Lots of wildlife everywhere you look, helping to make our camping trip an enjoyable one! - patti&charlie
Jun 2012 - $30.00
A great little campground. It is centrally located to many historic areas and Maryland State Parks. There is a small pond to fish in and trails to hike within the park. The only sad part was that the park host is leaving this year and she not only kept the entire park clean, but assured that it was safe and quiet. - electrician549

Jun 2018 - $59.00
We made reservations for a campground called Brunswick Family campground. It is located in Brunswick Md an we paid $59.00 for a premium site(well they call it premium) I call it full hook up because we have sewer(we can't use because I don't have 50ft of sewer hose). No cable,no wi-fi, and no over the air channels. To get to the campground you first have to go through the town that has a very narrow two lane road and the town allows parking on the street. Then you have to make a 90 degree right turn in the middle of town,go through the train station and the parking lot for the train station across 8 railroad tracks to the road and then you turn left on a dirt road and go about a mile past the towns water treatment plant. The road has pot holes large enough to have a class a lost in it. You come to the campgroudnd that looks like a cow pasture with water and electric. The sites are gravel and not level at all. The cancellation policy is “too bad” no matter when you cancel but you can stay some other time this year if you can't make it on the day you chose. In all honesty this place needs to be closed down. If I had to rate this I would give it a negative 4 stars I would go negative 5 but the Potomoc River is in the back of the campground. The campground did flood on June 4th and they are trying to clean it up but I the think they should have called the guests and offered to refund the money since it was sonbadly flooded. Oh well it is part of the adventure and live and learn. I guess I better pay more attention to the reviews - TRR
Aug 2017 - $50.00
Streets through town to get to park are very narrow. After you cross railroad tracks, be ready for a really dusty potholed road to campground. Check in was weird - we were given orange bands to display so staff could know we weren't "squatters". Finally got to "campsite" to find electrical and water hookups were at least 50 feet away. Campsite was on the edge of potential water hole if it rained any at all. Tried to get a refund as we decided we were NOT going to stay. Were told refunds had to be approved through general manager at main off-site office. Called and of course he had just left office for the day. We left to find something else. Refund was finally approved 3 days later. All we can really say is: JUST DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT GOING HERE unless you see it first. Best thing that can be said is that the campground is on the Potomac River. - gwvwadc
Apr 2017 - $50.00
My husband and I had planned to stay here for our first overnight stay in our new 26' TT. The drive to the campground was the first issue we ran across. The roads through town to get to the campground were very narrow and it was hard to make turns at stop lights without running up over curbs. Once we got through town and over the railroad tracks, we went down a very narrow gravel road, pass the sewage treatment plant and arrived at the campground entrance. I will say the lot we attempted to setup at had a very nice view overlooking the river. However, it was an extremely unlevel lot and we did not have very good success trying to setup the camper. After ruining one of our stabilizer jacks, we decided to pack up and go down the road to a different campground. - HappyCampers508

Warning to those with motorhomes greater than 35 feet. They only level for a trailer less than 30 feet. Many sites are greater than a 12 inch slope. Sites that should work are 48 50 52 55 56 63 70 71 and 72. Nice park tons of trees so expect no satellite and lots of things dropping on your roof. Roads are well maintained and utilities worked well. Roads are kept trimmed of most tree branches. - sheltieRV
Sep 2019 - $45.00
Pricey, especially on weekends. Sites large, level with buffer zones. Quiet on week days, very noisy on weekends. Staff young and trying to be helpful. Park is beautiful! - Luke5746
Jul 2019 - $45.00
Was here earlier in the year (didn't review then) and they were working on leveling sites and widening site entries where needed. Did an excellent job. I needed 1 "board" to level side to side. Come here as often as I can because of family in the area. All sites in the "RV loop" are full hook up with 50 amp service. Power and water pressure good. Pretty good OTA antenna reception. Now open year round. Camp store pretty good. Shopping & restaurants close by. Post office good for getting mail forwarded. Laundry will take either coins or credit cards. - MissingLinc

Oct 2018 - $36.00
This is a very nice park. Everything was clean and well cared for. Our gravel site was level and had been raked before we got there. We did some hiking while we were there, and the hiking trails were well tended. A couple of the loops don't allow pets, so be aware of that before you come with pets. - AnnP
Jul 2018 - $15.00
We stayed in the Cedar Electric loop. This park is very well designed for camping. All sites are reasonably level, but some have fairly steep slopes to the pad. The campground host was very informative and kept the sites spotless. We will definitely return. - Capt Gerry
Apr 2018 - $36.00
This was our second time camping here, both times in late April, so crowds were minimal. The sites we saw were all freshly raked and smooth. With a little planning you can find a site that offers privacy against a wooded hillside. The Park staff has been very friendly and helpful during both of our stays here. Nice hiking trail from the camping loops down to and around the Park's lake. We will certainly return. - 74 Noreaster

This is a nice little spot that doesn't take reservations. The sites were taken quickly on the weekend. We arrived around 1:00PM on a Friday and didn't have any trouble closing a spot. The sites are nicely leveled and some have electric hook-up. The water spigots are located along the roads and generally not in level areas so it's difficult to tell if you are full or not. There is no dump station. The restrooms were clean and the showers some of the nicest we've been to in a state park. This campground is right off the highway and there is truck noise at all sites. - HaRV the Traveller
Feb 2018 - $18.00
We camped here in February and there was only one other camper. It was quiet except for the faint noise from the highway. The sites are pretty big, and they have a fire pit, picnic table and a little bit of a workbench for some reason. We paid $18 through self registration when we arrived by using the provided envelopes. A Ranger checked in with us A few minutes later to see how everything was going. Lots of hiking trails here but not much else to do in the winter. We stayed at site 20 which was very close to the Porta John that we used since the bathroom facilities are closed during winter. - The Bees
Dec 2017 - $18.00
I used this campground for a quick overnight stay. This campground recently reopened after a long closure following heavy storm damage, and unlike the other campground at Cunningham Falls, is open year round, but with limited winter service, no reservations taken, and a lower fee charged.
Roads are paved and in excellent condition, but are tight, as are most sites. Sites are gravel and mostly level, but many can be a challenge to get into, this is not a big rig friendly campground. Picnic table, fire ring and lantern post are provided. Sites are spaced well, some closer good for groups, but many are spacious and well apart from other sites. Power at my site showed reversed polarity on the 30amp, and the outlet itself was installed upside down. The 20amp was good. No water or sewer hookups, water is available from spigots throughout the campground.
Shower house was closed for the season, a portapot was provided, but I did not use it. Campground was very dark but there was a good deal of road noise from Rt15, which continues all night long, but this was not an issue inside the camper. I saw no staff, and the campground was otherwise empty. It proved to be a good place to overnight with my small travel trailer. - Cyclonic

This is almost the perfect park, beautiful wooded campgrounds, large camp spots, plenty to do. The camp spots were level and very clean. We stayed in site 15 for 5 nights and 18 for 1 night in the Addison run section the only electric section with pets allowed (1 old cat) electric only, water was close by. So level we didn't need to do anything. We booked on line and when we checked in the agent at the gate asked how old we were and then promptly gave us a Maryland Park Service Golden Age pass holders ($10) and refunded us 71 from our booked reservation, 1/2 price camping for 62+ Sunday thru Thursday. ATT did not work at the camp ground section we were in, but we went 1/2 mile up the hill to another section, took lunch with us and was able to get cell service. The antenna TV was also pretty bad, so plan on outside time. The hiking is great, swimming, fishing and canoeing, lots to do. At the front entrance is a book exchange. The only downside are the conditions of the bathhouse in the Addison run loop, and they are pretty bad. Enough for me to take 1 star off for this perfect park. A razor and garbage stayed in one shower stall for 3 days. A broom to knock down cobwebs and other debris would help, mop the floors or clean with a hose, just to mention a few things. - hiker13
Aug 2018 - $14.00
The site we stayed in "#25" was very level and had a water spigot right next to it. There are lots of trails to hike in and around the park. A very nice hike down to the falls (a couple of steep and rocky parts, but very doable for us 70 year old, out of shape) . Wear good shoes and you will be in good shape. Hiking poles come in handy as well. A very nice setting provided a great spot to play during a heavy rainstorm. There was a lot of activity down at the lake during the weekend, but things quieted down nicely during the week. There was a "Teardrop" rendezvous going on while we were there. Great folks who seemed to really enjoy their little trailers.
The roads were easy to navigate, but that is in reference to our rig of 28'. The road in was curvy and narrow (highway 77) and the road up to the campground loop (Addison) was pretty steep. I wouldn't recommend it for a big 5th wheel although there were a couple of large motorhomes there - they did unhook their cars before they came in . - Capt Gerry

What a beautiful park! We stayed in Addison Run Loop pet-friendly with electric, site #15. Fully shaded, quiet, very secluded, level, clean and NO bugs. The weather was cool so we could leave our camper doors open..until the torrential rains came on Saturday afternoon...about 3" worth! Wonderful hiking trails down to the Falls and the Lake, a little difficult so glad we had hiking shoes and poles. Didn't use bathroom facilities this trip but peaked inside and they looked clean with nice shower stalls. We have a 21' Class B campervan so size was not an issue at our site, however, I could see that larger rigs may have trouble with site size. Our loop had more tent campers than RVs, and with the rains I was reminded how nice it is to be warm and dry hunkered inside our camper! The park is quite hilly with lush old growth forest and rocky outcroppings. We also hiked part of the Catoctin Run trail, crossing mountain streams which swelled with the heavy rain. We will definitely be back to this lovely place. NOTE: One of the tent campers took a plastic tub filled with firewood from our site while we were out sightseeing in the van. When we found the tub missing and went to retrieve it, the thief said "Sorry dude, I thought you were gone." We usually leave miscellaneous items out when we daytrip, never anything of value, to let folks know the site is occupied. - Debbie Collison

Oct 2019 - $66.00
A beautiful area, but one of the worst maintained and regulated KOAs we have stayed in (and we have stayed in many). They had just finished a "Halloween" weekend in the park. First off, they gave us a site so steep you would not be able to level the trailer. Park was 1/3 full, why not assign a better site? We moved, previous camper moved fire ring and picnic table and we could not even pull in. Had to drag table and fire ring to get in. Melted candy, marshmallow roasters, candy wrappers, and cigarette butts all over. You pay a premium price to stay here! Utility hookups are old. 30amp socket was cracked. Sewer connection pipe came out when I tried to connect. Next, apparently an RV group decided to have a large party, other guests parked in empty sites and RV arrivals had to track down folks to move cars so they could get in. Next, campers with a 5th wheeler pulled next to us, totally off gravel pad and slide out into my space, about 18" from our trailer. Should not be my responsibility to have them correct placement. Meantime, lots of golf carts flying by with "employees" out for joyrides, doing NO cleanups in sites. Read before, they charge a resort fee ($10.00). Pool closed, restaurants closed, coffee shop closed. Where is the resort? Ripoff. Unfortunately, there are no other options in the area. Sad campground. - Padsforlife
Sep 2019 - $60.00
Big rig tight - do’able, but watch the big rocks, don’t plan to leave or arrive when the park is full. Better yet, pay the extra dollars for a patio site. The sites up on the hill are terraced, leaving takes some thought. We have a 40’ 5th wheel and tow with a hauler. Lot of amenities: Grinds and Grapes - coffee and wine tasting; ice cream social; pancake breakfast, 4 wheel bike rentals - just a few of the activities. We intended to stay for a long weekend, stayed 2 weeks. Fees are on the pricey side - $10 activity fee; $12 visitor fee - but they are in a tourist area. Would stay here again. Office folks friendly, professional, and helpful. Convenient shopping and restaurants. - Born2RV
