Very helpful desk staff. Concierge that had excellent information and suggestions for getting to downtown DC. Young people in cafe were especially pleasant. Clean restroom. Convenient laundry facility. We camped at Cherry Hill Park (Washington DC) in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Drove to train station and rode train to DC. Heavy traffic during peak times. Went after 9:30am and got to train in 15 minutes. Approximately 30 minute train ride to DC. Buy a metro card at campground for convenience.

If you don’t have a car you can ride the bus to the train.

Overall Rating:

Cherry Hill has its ups & downs. The 'ups' -- very well-maintained; fine campsites; great amenities; and most importantly a quality base from which to explore Washington DC. The 'downs' are significant road noise -- it's nestled into a piece of land snug into the junction of I-95 & the Beltway -- and just an OK neighborhood outside the park. Price is more than a typical campground, but compared to the cost of staying in hotels in DC, it's not too bad a deal. We were there in the offseason, and unfortunately it was really cold the week we stayed, so we weren't really able to do much at the facility. Odds are you're probably going to want to spend most of your time away in DC anyway. Convenient enough to Metro stops on the green line; it's about 45 minutes from the campground to the Mall. I'd stay there again, though if you really want to make use of the campground, come in the summer! We camped at Cherry Hill Park (Washington DC) in a Travel Trailer.

Traveling full-time in a 38-foot coach we stayed 23-nights in a site for big rigs (site # 506). Pd $69 night. The good....if you desire to stay close to DC this would be an excellent choice. This is a very well-kept and quiet park with great amenities. There's a cafe on site plus they offer a travel/trip adviser. Take advantage of this as their expertise will help make your excursions into DC much easier. There's even a bus stop at the front of the park. If you have a dog there's ample area to walk your pet plus a fenced dog park. This park has decent wifi and our AT&T phones worked great here. Our satellite did receive reception, however most of the sites have way to many trees to receive satellite reception. This is not a dusty park so the dust on your coach will be minimal compared to many other parks. Big coaches need a gravel pad, so we give this RV Park a 5-star rating for the thick gravel pad. Each site had room at the side of the coach for sitting and relaxing while BBQ'ing. The bad...if your site is next to the freeway you may hear some traffic noise and in the wintertime the noise is a little more noticeable due to the lack of tree leaves blocking the sound. This is a great place to stay and we highly recommend it! We camped at Cherry Hill Park (Washington DC) in a Motorhome.

A park with this many amenities and price should have a higher rating. The park offers everything you could possibly want from a RV park. The reason for not a higher rating was 1) site not level. I could not level with just my levers had to use 4x4 's 2) levers sunk into the ground 3) Lots of fwy noise. Everything else was very good. Would stay again but would try to get a spot more towards the front to get away from Hwy noise. We camped at Cherry Hill Park (Washington DC) in a Motorhome.

Cherry Hill Park is a family-owned park which caters to families! This destination resort, with its proximity to Washington D.C., offers absolutely everything one could want. Guests have a choice of a standard or premium RV site, a standard or group tent site, or one of many rental units: premium log cabins, cottages, glamping pods, rustic cabins, or a yurt. Entrance into the park is via a keycard. We felt our coach was very safe in the park...safe enough to leave it unattended in our premium RV site while we flew home to Seattle for a week. Check-in was swiftly and efficiently accomplished and very orchestrated. This business knows what it is doing! In addition to providing us with information about the park, we also received info about Washington D.C., including the Cherry Hill Park Night Tour, which leaves directly from the park's Bus Depot. We HIGHLY recommend this 5-hour tour, as it is extremely well done. (If you don't feel like driving into D.C., you can catch the city bus at the Depot at various times throughout the day. You can also drive to a nearby subway station and ride the subway into town, which is what we did.) The amenities offered at Cherry Hill are almost unlimited: 4 air-conditioned bathhouses, 2 laundry facilities, a splash park, 2 solar-heated pools, 1 with a fountain and beach walk-in, a hot tub, a sauna, 2 playgrounds, 18-Hole miniature golf, basketball court, tractor rides, 2 fenced dog runs, gem mining (buy a bag of mystery sand and start mining), golf cart rental, catch and release fishing pond, a gym, an arcade, a TV lounge with fireplace, an adults-only outdoor fitness area, a 1.3 mile walking trail around the park, ping-pong, and cornhole. If you don't feel like cooking, the Star Café is open daily for hot and cold food. Rounding out the park features are 3 stores: an RV Store selling parts and accessories, a Souvenir Store with Washington D.C. merchandise, and finally a Campground Grocery. We would definitely stay at Cherry Hill again! We camped at Cherry Hill Park (Washington DC) in a Motorhome.

This park is really designed for folks who want a place to stay while visiting Washington DC. There is a shuttle to the metro station, or you make 10-min drive and park in the parking garage, The metro is about a 35-minute ride to Washington and then a 5 to 10-minute walk to the mall. The park is huge. The staff at the office is very helpful, not only in making sure you get a suitable site (we wanted access to satellite TV), but in providing information on how to get to Washington and information on sight-seeing. This is a good park with convenient and up-to-date hookups. The sites are level. We would stay here for a sight-seeing trip to Washington, but it is a little pricey for an overnight stay, We camped at Cherry Hill Park (Washington DC) in a Motorhome.

Lovely park with great amenities. The staff was very nice and the location cannot be beat for touring DC. My site was in the direct sun, a little tree there that made it impossible for me to open my awning and provided no shade. I couldn't pull forward as there would be no room for the car. Absolutely beautiful park! Well-maintained, spacious, spotless gravel sites. Bathrooms were clean. Didn't use the wifi. Satellite reception was excellent. Recreation areas for kids were superb featuring splash park and pools. Movie night and popcorn were a big hit for the grandkids. Amenities, including bus service to DC, are too many to list. This is a top notch RV park and one of the best ones we have stayed at. There is some highway noise in the area we stayed at, so check the site map and choose your site accordingly. The perfect park in which to stay for visiting the DC area. Buses come into the park and drop you at Metro station. If you don't have kids I would suggest you ask for a site far from pools and cafe. It stays really busy in that area. We camped at Cherry Hill Park (Washington DC) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Visit the National Pentagon Memorial and Arlington Cemetery. There is a Metro stop at Pentagon and one at Arlington Cemetery. You never have to drive your car out of the park for touring! The Air Force Memorial is also near the Pentagon 911 Memorial but probably a good 15 minute walk away. With advance notice, you can try for a Pentagon Tour (2-12 week advance sign up because they run a background check). Clearance/confirmation takes a long time. White House tours are about the same way.

First off we won two free nights at a RV show, however this review is not bias, this is one of the finest campgrounds in the country. I will start with the check in they are ready for you with nice lanes outside the office, inside the office you will find friendly and intelligent staff, the campground has a gate that works and guard that is there most of the time. It has adequate wifi something you rarely see in a campground of this size, excellent cable, incredible over the air tv stations, good electricity, very good water pressure, very good to great cellular coverage. This is the closest campground to Washington, DC, there is bus station on site that will take you to the nearby Metro station. The amenities are endless they have a splash park for little kids, a kids pool an a adult pool, a hot tub, and great playgrounds. They have a very good restaurant and virtually free miniature golf, ($1 donation to a children's hospital, kids under 5 play free). I have been to this campground many times and this was the best visit, I believe they are really putting their money back into this campground. OK now for the bad stuff you are close to two major highways this is great for its location however not so great for some visitors for sleeping I had no problem it soon became white noise for me but there was some compliant from my friends, some of the sites are small, mine wasn't.

If you are a tourist take advantage of the campground's tourist center it is awesome!!! We camped at Cherry Hill Park (Washington DC) in a Motorhome.

To see D.C., this park is perfect. There is a bus that comes right to the park and takes you to subway station. We found this VERY convenient. Never had to drive. The campground is well managed, and you can purchase D.C. tours at the office. The campground is well maintained, and there are GREAT provisions for your pets. There are dog walking areas and references for someone who can walk them for you. The pool area is very nice, there are 2 pools, an elaborate recreation area as well as snack bar. The only drawback we had was that the sites are rather small. I wouldn't have been happy with that if I wasn't there to tour D.C. This is probably why they are small, people don't hang out at the campsites much. We will definitely stay here again when we go to D. C. again. I was happier to drive to metro station, rather than take the bus. The bus runs once an hour, and it was really hot when we were there. We didn't want to have to wait for the bus. It is convenient to drive to the station and park. I think it was 5 bucks..This allowed us to stop and eat at a couple local restaraunts near campground, rather than eat in D.C. where everything is expensive and crowded.

Thanks for staying with us, and we're glad you had a great stay! As far as site size, you're right on the money; due to our proximity to DC, our sites are a bit smaller than at a more rural campground so that we can keep our prices reasonable while maintaining our grounds and amenities to a high standard. We hope we'll see you again for your next trip to DC!
