We stayed here so we could go the Henry Ford Museum. It was a great location. Utilities very good. As previous reviews mentioned it just a huge open field and very easy in and out. I was using RV Life app and also my garmin with the coordinates from RV Park reviews. Both took us past the entrance down to McBride Road. The entrance is .2 mile after turning on Quirk Rd. Turn in at the Wayne County Fairgrounds and RV Park sign. We camped at Wayne County Fairgrounds & RV Park in a Motorhome.

We paid $27 / night for W / E30. Yes, this is a fairground and there are no amenities, but we chose it for the price and the easy access to Detroit about 30 minutes away and Ann Arbor. So for us it definitely met our needs. Spacious grass site though it took some effort to level the RV. Would definitely stay here again!!! We camped at Wayne County Fairgrounds & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you don't need amenities, this site is a great value with easy access to Motown Museum, the Henry Ford Museum, the Riverwalk, Belle Isle and all other sites in Detroit. The Motown Museum is a 1 hour guided tour that sells out so if you intend to visit it is best to buy tickets online in advance. You can easily spend 4+ hours at the Henry Ford Museum. So we did the Museum one day and then Greenfield Village and the River Rouge Factory tour another day.

We weren't sure what to expect at a fairgrounds rv park, but this is a very nice park! Our grassy site was in between two buildings with 3 other spots, it was quite roomy. The gals in the office were very nice at check in and were helpful when we had questions. There is a community garden in the park and we were able to pick some veggies to have with our dinner - what a nice touch!! This a great location to visit the Ford museum and factory tour, Detroit and Motown and Gerald Fords presidential library in Ann Arbor. We camped at Wayne County Fairgrounds & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Camping World is very close. Be sure to visit the Ford Museum and take a factory tour. We walked the Detroit Riverwalk and were surprised to see how beautiful Detroit is - that's not exactly the way the media portrays it! The GM building is worth a visit too. The Motown tour was great - be sure to call ahead for reservations. We also really enjoyed the Gerald Ford library and seeing the University of Michigan campus and stadium.

Safe, not a resort but a very nice location. Staff was professional and helpful the sites are level. The bathhouse is older but is clean. A super option and a great use of a fairground when the fair is not in town. We camped at Wayne County Fairgrounds & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

The campground is primarily used for the carnies and exhibitors during fairs and such. However, when the park is not being used, then it is available for the public. There are no amenities in the park. The bathrooms are downright terrifying: dirty, bug infested, smelly, worn out, and poorly designed. Fortunately, we had a full hook-up for our trailer, so we didn't use the bathrooms or showers. The site was grass and dirt. The prior camper left big ruts from the previous rain, so we had to navigate around them. The site was not level despite being in an open field, so we used blocks. The sites are also side by side for utilities. The WiFi was good. We camped at Wayne County Fairgrounds & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Located off of Hwy 94 between Detroit and Dearborn. Fairly typical fairground accommodations with sites being laid out on grass and dirt. Full service sites with 50 amp back in only. All utilities are at rear of site and seem to work well though the water pressure was somewhat low. Good OTA television reception. Verizon with data and mobile but Sprint was limited to mobile only. Large dog walking green area along perimeter fence line of park. No shade. Close to restaurants, fuel and Walmart. We camped at Wayne County Fairgrounds & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice place to stay and visit Detroit area. Level back in grass/dirt full hookup 30/50 amp sites. Can see how it would get muddy with sustained rainfall. it was wet but serviceable while we were there. Right off I-94 30 minutes from downtown. Would stay here again. Stayed here three nights to visit The Henry Ford and Greenfield Village which is about 25 minutes away. This is a county fairgrounds with RV hook-ups. Very basic. One restroom with a couple of showers that we didn't use. Showers and restroom desperately need updating. Our sewer hookup was very far from our outlet, I had to use 3 hoses. Unfortunately, it rained the majority of the time we visited and the grounds became a muddy mess. A couple of RVs were stuck in the mud and needed help getting out. They left huge ruts behind. The area surrounding the fairground has plenty of places to eat and a Walmart very close by. We would stay here again but that would depend on the weather. We camped at Wayne County Fairgrounds & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We used this as a base to see The Henry Ford. Easy big rig access, internal roads and sites. We had a 50 amp full hookup site on grass. We enjoyed our stay here, felt very safe, and enjoyed being able to walk to Walmart. Tons of grassy areas to walk your dog. We camped at Wayne County Fairgrounds & RV Park in a Motorhome.

We chose this park because we wanted to do some sightseeing in the Ann Arbor and Dearborn area. The park is about 20 miles from the Henry Ford Museum & Greenfield Village, which we visited over 2 days. We also visited Ann Arbor and the Gerald Ford Presidential Library. This was a good base for doing all that. The park is pretty basic, but it worked well for us. We had a nice long pull-through. The sites are alternate directions with shared utilities. They are a little close if all the sites are occupied, but not a problem. This park worked perfectly for us. It's fenced and felt very safe. We'd definitely stay here again if in the area. We camped at Wayne County Fairgrounds & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

As others have said, this is a no-frills park within the county fairgrounds property. The sites are grass with many pull-throughs. We were in the "back" row, farthest from the entrance because we chose not to spend the extra $5/day for sewer since it was a short stay. The e/w only sites were fairly close with 1 picnic table and fire ring per 2 sites. The camping area was fairly full but quiet. The grounds are fenced in so felt protected. The staff was friendly and helpful. Interior roads are gravel. Park is easy access off I-94 with many restaurants, stores (Walmart, Meijers, Aldi, Menards) very close. We camped at Wayne County Fairgrounds & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

This is a great location for visiting the Henry Ford museum/Greenfield Village complex. Easy drive from the park and away from the traffic of Detroit. I recommend allowing a few days to see the museum. There is an "all access" ticket which includes the museum, museum tour Greenfield Village, Factory tour and a movie. We did the museum and tour one day, factory tour and movie second day and Greenfield Village the 3rd day.

We were looking for a park we could use as a base to see the Henry Ford and Greenfield Village (about 20 miles/30 minutes each way). Easy access from the highway. Sites are really close together, so glad we didn't have immediately adjacent neighbors. Good power, good water pressure, good OTA TV, really good WiFi. Bathrooms are really dated. They see a lot of use during fair season, I imagine - so clean, but really worn. Walmart literally next door - there is a fence between, but a paved, lit path connects them. Good dump station on site. We camped at Wayne County Fairgrounds & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Community let we down again, this is not a 7. Large open grass area with sites. Bathrooms are old. Water tastes terrible. Voltage below 120 on surge protector. Must too expensive for what it is. OK for a 1 or 2 night stay. We camped at Wayne County Fairgrounds & RV Park in a Motorhome.

We echo the other comments from 2018.... this is a no frills great place to stay while touring the area. All utilities and wifi worked flawlessly. The fairgrounds is fenced and has restricted access, so we felt very safe here. The Ford Museum of American Innovation is an absolute bucket list must do, and this is the closest park, about 20 miles away. Where else can you see the very first 1964 Ford Mustang ever produced? As part of your museum ticket price, you can opt to see the Ford F150 Truck assembly plant (Rouge Plant name after the Rouge River nearby) They produce a new F150 pickup truck every 57 seconds!! Unbelievable! This plant produced WWII vehicles as well. Overall, this was a nice park practical park, and we would definetly return. We camped at Wayne County Fairgrounds & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

They give you Bluetooth headsets, and when your tourguide makes various presentations, you can hear every single word clearly no matter where you're standing. Thomas Edison attended the opening of this awesome museum! They have a film of him making the dedication! You will see many of the historical artifacts. After that, take the F150 truck assembly plant tour! They produce a new truck every 57 seconds!
