Nice campground with satisfactory cable & WiFi. Grassy sites with gravel road interior. We had Site 1, fairly large back-in. Bring X-length water and cable line as they are on curbside of the RV and a good distance away. Access to lake and boat/pontoon rentals. Would stay here again. We camped at Log Cabin Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

As others have stated, this is definitely not a resort, it is a campground. We had a back-in site on grass. It was not very level. Bring a long hose for your water hookup as many of the water spigots are on the passenger side, not with the sewer and electric. Our cable connection was so far back on our site, our cable would not reach. The WiFi was so weak it was essentially useless and cell service for AT&T and Verizon was very weak. We were there in July and the big black flies were relentless and vicious, so much so we couldn't sit out much and certainty didn't want to eat outside. There is not much in Curtis (except 2 ice cream shops!!) and anything is a long drive away. It is located on a very pretty lake, but we only walked down to it once because I slid and fell on the loose stones. I would not stay here again. We camped at Log Cabin Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a peaceful campground on the lake with nice concrete pads. The lady in the office was pleasant and helpful. We were here during the week in September so it may be busier during the summer but was very quiet during our stay. We camped at Log Cabin Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Nice older private park on Big Manistique lake. Pull thru sites are concrete pad, ours had a patio, fire pit, wooded and very spacious. FHU back in sites were pretty close together.Water and sewer hookups convenient. Cable TV worked good. WIFI was slow but the park was full when we stayed. 2 bars on Verizon jet pack was enough to make it work fine. Interior roads are dirt but no clay so they were slightly muddy but not greasy. They had just received 1.5" of rain the day we arrived. For the money this was a great park. We will stay here again. We camped at Log Cabin Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

When we camp, we like having large sites, this campground delivered. The delux sites are large, wooded, concrete pad, pull through, full hookup. The firepit was not on top of you, so you didn't feel like you were going to burn down your trailer, if you got a nice fire going. Cable worked fine, but the lake is much better for viewing pleasure, or sitting by the fire. Wifi also good, but not great, so if outdoors entertainment is not your thing, or you have to work or something, wifi isn't going to thrill you. You're in the woods, in northern MI, enjoy the adventure! Cute town of Curtis not too far, which we didn't get a chance to explore. We chose this location, because we wanted to explore the UP, from Painted Rocks, Lake Superior, to Mackinac Island. All within an hour, or so and the drives to both locations, are beautiful. If you're just looking for a place to relax, this campground has a beautiful lake. I didn't get a chance to use the restrooms, so can't comment on that. Also, never saw the owners. We arrived, self check in, honor system wood pile and were never bothered with countless rules, or nosey owners. Love this campground and will return when we visit the UP again. We camped at Log Cabin Resort & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Painted Rocks National Lakeshore, fishing, swimming, scenic drives. Mackinac Island and all of the eastern peninsula of Upper Michigan are within reach, with a scenic drive to destinations, that knocks your socks off. Love the UP!

Overall Rating:

This large campground has a lakefront area with beach and marina, and many shaded sites, both back-in and pull-thru. One of the few that has sewer hookups and 50A power. The deluxe sites have concrete pads, tables and fire rings with generous spacing; however they are in the trees so there is no opportunity for satellite TV. Back-ins are up against the tree line, on fairly level grass, and some are satellite friendly. Cable had many channels but was grainy analog. The park WiFi was excellent throughout our stay, and Verizon cell/data worked well. Very busy on weekends but fairly quiet during the week. Large playground for children, small office with only minimal supplies, and three miles to the small town of Curtis. We found the manager to be helpful and friendly, as were the few seasonal residents. We camped at Log Cabin Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

Nice quiet campground. Most campsites back up in the woods with a central open area for dog walk, playing frisbee. Lake access with row boats to use. Sites were large enough, though not entirely level (high in the back). We camped at Log Cabin Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

We went at the end of the season so we weren't able to use any of the lake facilities. We parked on the grass on # 3. It was fairly level, but would suggest you have blocks for your jacks. We were able to get satellite from that spot but not #1. We also had good internet, but the park was pretty empty. We also had pretty good cell service - Verizon. The park seems old but it looks like they're trying to make improvements. The location is good. You can get just about anywhere on the upper peninsula within about an hour and a half. It looked like they had a small beach area & maybe a swimming hole. The laundry room was old, but the machines worked, were reasonably priced & it was clean. We would return if in the area. We camped at Log Cabin Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

Within about an hour & a half you could reach Pictured Rocks National Park, The Shipwreck Museum & Taquamanon Falls. There is a small town of Curtis, with restaurants & a tiny grocery store close.

This is NOT a resort just a campground. The sites are divided into two sections. Sites 1-43 are semi-open on grass with varying utilities. The deluxe sites 50-61 are in the trees with no chance of satellite reception but full hookups + cable. The cable is 35 channels of grainy analog reception, no digital. Phone & cell data service is non-existent you have to go into Curtis and stand in just the correct spot to get a connection. The campground does have WIFI but it only works at the office and then is very finicky. For the amount charged per site this is not a great deal, but about the best available in the area. Tips for other Campers:

Don't expect much in the Curtis area. A couple of convenience store/bait shop operations, 1 bar/pizza place, 1 ice cream store, 1 gas station (way overpriced), and NO phone or cell data service except at the library ???

Campground is located about a mile outside of the town of Curtis on the shores of the Big Manistique Lake. Rating is for the larger pull-through campsites in the front of the park, which are large and nicely treed. The smaller campsites in the front of the park are close together and would probably only rate a 7. The campground is clean and well maintained and the owners are very friendly. We camped at Log Cabin Resort & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Campsite was pretty good. Campground was fairly clean and well maintained. Wi-Fi service was poor, but to be expected in such a remote area. Check-in process was easy going as the owners/managers left for the day around 6pm and just left our check-in info in their mailbox. Would stay there again. Enjoyed our one day stay at this nice older resort. In addition to camping spots they have numerous cabins . WiFi was out due to storm a couple days before our visit. Nice grassy open area to play ball with our dogs. Friendly owners, would definitely return. Also, when you are here, you need to visit Chamberlains Restaurant on the opposite side of the lake for a unique dining experience. Meals are $16-25, but well worth the price. Charming, turn of the century decor. We camped at Log Cabin Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

Road into park is narrow and also acts as only road out. Impossible to meet traffic coming in other direction especially if it is two RV's. Our back-in grass site was not all that level side to side. There are some really nice sites amongst the trees, but roadway to these sites is tight and tree branches would be an issue. Good services. Only one night stay, but if you like fishing, then this is the place to be as it is located next to a lake and has its own boat launch. Doubtful if we would be back in this area to consider another stay. We camped at Log Cabin Resort & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We really enjoyed our stay here in the cool weather of the U.P. The park is well kept with large common areas to let the dog run. There is not much in town so bring everything you need. There are several attractions within an hour's drive. The utilities are good and thank goodness for cable because the trees blocked our satellite. Remember your leveling boards, you will need them. The lake fishing is good and the local campers are willing to share their knowledge. It is very quiet and peaceful here. We met several very nice people. We camped at Log Cabin Resort & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
