The kids really enjoyed the park. Being a fall weekend, there were a lot fewer people that we're used to compared to when school is out. The sites were nice with some privacy, .except ours. There was a path to the restrooms that went next to our site and ran about 4 feet from our fire ring. The constant trickle of peopling going to and from the bathrooms made it awkward while we tried to sit around the fire eating a meal. Some of the smokers had no problem walking by exhaling cigarette smoke in our direction. The ranger station sold ice and firewood at reasonable prices; however, the firewood was wet even though it was stored in a shed. I have had this problem at all Michigan state parks. Their firewood distributor is selling them unseasoned wood. The second night, I drove a few miles down the road and bought good dry wood. Overall, this is a nice state park in a great location with lots of available activities. We will stay here again but will be sure to avoid site 94. - Brewstar

Park has paved wide roads with all sites paved. Most will accept big rigs and sites have vegetation isolating from most other sites. Power pole is shared and could be up to 100 feet away. Water is available in many areas of each of two campgrounds. Beach is very clean and convenient. Disc Golf course is in the park as are bike, hike, and horse trails. Park personnel were very nice and helpful. Only one person can use the dump at a time and could be a hangup on busy days. Restrooms were newer ones of Michigan state parks. We will return. - dalenoel

Very nice shady park. The campsites may challenge the bigger rigs. Sites are paved but heavily surrounded by trees and shrubs. Power pedestals are not at sites, they are shared and can be anywhere from 25' to 100' away. Nice lake and beach. We travel with no kids, but we did notice they have a nice up to date play set near the camping and more equipment near the beach. Only marks off are for the slightly dated bathhouse. Typical for most Michigan State parks. - buzzards27

So not big rig friendly. Pull throughs are "buddy style' sites which creates a forced socializing with neighbors. Large rocks throughout park created problems navigating. Narrow drive entering that is partially blocked by people using dump station on one side and low hanging branches on both sides which ran down side of coach. Mentioned to office staff and was told "if you ran down that tree branch then it is your own fault". Pull through sites not large enough for vehicle and required disconnect. Interior roads are gravel. By pass this place. Lack of proper tree trimming, buddy style sites, and large rocks make this awful. See photos. - RodeoClown

Absolute dump filled with trashy trailers and trashy people. Tight turns. Dirt roads. I would rather boondock at WalMart. My parking space was filled with tree roots. - firsttimefulltimer
Jun 2018 - $39.00
We wanted a quick weekend with grand kids. Cottonwood was close. $39 for 2 Adults and a 3 & 4 and year old. It was over priced for what we got. Our site was level, but we could not have gotten into many others in the park because of incline in to the site. No fire pits but you can have fires on the ground. Playground for kids was OK but equipment was old and would not be installed today due to risk of injury to the kids. Pool was dirty for first two days but was cleaned on third day. Power was fair, but on hot a summer day it would have been a challenge to run both AC's. Extra $10 if you want to check in before 2:00 PM. We would not stay here again. - IBMSSMITH3

Dilapidated location. Office was not marked and was the first of many unattractive buildings. - tabber386
Sep 2005 - $28.00
This is an older park. The restroom facilities were in great need of updating and repair. They were not very clean either. The rest of the park, however was clean. The owners were very nice and helpful. - ScrapperJo

This park is a big mobile home park with maybe 60 campsites around the small lake. It is very old and needs repair and upgrades in order to be called a compground. The electric is very bad and not enough current to run an air conditioner, in fact the electricity would shut down in our rig often due to low voltage. The people that run the campground are wonderful, friendly and warm family oriented willing to help in anyway they can. The water is very hard with lots of iron in it and all the hookups are very poorly located on the site, making connections to the rig hard and in some cases even have to be run under the rig. This could be a great campground, however it is not now and we can not recommend it. - racomarley
Jun 2017 - $32.00
Mostly seasonal campers. Way off the beaten path - we drove down a lonely dirt road to get there. Difficult to find a level spot to park MH, but electric was good and water pressure excellent. Our site was downwind of the pit toilets (encased in a building, but still quite stinky). Good place to walk or ride a bike. Well-maintained lawns and sites. A lot of friendly ducks. River access if you are so inclined. - Forest Woods
May 2015 - $32.00
We've stayed here in our trailer & now in our 5th wheel. These folks are friendly & accommodating. The community is also very family friendly.
The riverside sites can not be beat.
We book many of our Holiday Weekends here. - jbgrace
Jul 2011 - $28.00
Very clean, grassy, peaceful, quiet & well maintained. They even spray nightly for mosquitoes. Lots of seasonals at this park, and all that we talked to were very friendly. Not a lot of frills here, but if you like good old backwoods camping like we do, then this is it! Currently there are no showers, but we see the construction happening to build what appears to be a nice large shower facility. Check-in was fast and easy. The fire pits are all positioned on riverside, with plenty of distance from RV. We will definitely come back soon. - 2gaycampers
Jun 2015 - $20.00
When we arrived this year (we have grandkids in the area), we found that one of the trees had fallen just a few days earlier and was less than 24 hours from when people were camping in that spot. We also found out that some or all of the others have tree rot.
This year, the regular camp host has quit and nothing is getting done ....
It's still $20 a night with less amenities
Enough is enough, we're out of here ! ! ! - magic
Jun 2014 - $20.00
Please note new rate. This is a basic park and the rates this year went up by 33% without any changes. No extra anything, just the same water every 6th space or so, 30 amp max, and some sites with only 20. We will stay here again, unless we can find something else in the area. - magic
Jul 2013 - $15.00
Water is scattered throughout, so long hoses are needed. For a few days, good place to stop. - PugetSound
