Do not let the pictures on the website deceive you. This is not a picture of where you would be staying unless you are a seasonal camper. We stayed there and basically we were camping in a large yard. There were hardly any shade trees. The 'heated' pool was freezing cold. The women's shower was ice cold. There is not a beach on the lake, just a small spot with some of the seasonal campers pontoon boats are docked. There was a very a small dock to fish on but the lake was to shallow and very weedy to fish off the dock. I would not recommend this campground to anyone. - redheadmichigan

This is a family campground with many kid activities. My review and comments of Leisure Lake in August 2010 still applies. Our new Verizon hotspot worked well. Due to low AC power (99 to 105 volts) during the hot day we left the next day rather than spend the rest of the week with poor power. - big greg

This is a nice, clean campground built around an old gravel pit. The sites are a great size as we did not feel cramped at all. The sites are all grass and it is required that you only use a poly rug as to maintain the integrity of the grass. Their is plenty to do with the kids at this campground and they are pet friendly. There is also a nice size field next to the campground where you can run your dog. The only downside to this campground, in my opinion, is the lack of shade (immature trees) and you are out in the wide open countryside so it gets a bit windy at times. We liked this campground overall and our grand kids had a ball. - SueW
Aug 2010 - $30.00
Nice WIDE level, grass sites and gravel roads at this family CG. Has a nice big gazebo with power and lights we used during a rally. Was peaceful and quiet. Sprint air card and cell phones just barely worked with exterior antenna and amp. Rooftop dish had no problem as trees are small. We did have power problems on the weekend when the CG was busy and everyone had their A/Cs running. We had to drop down to 30a as one 50a power leg dropped to 100v. A friend had to get 30a power from two sites away. I would rate this CG higher except for the poor weekend power. During the week it was OK as most sites were empty and it cooled down. Lots of activity on the small lake. - big greg

Fantastic stay! Owner is wonderful; helpful & courteous. Haven't seen such a clean place in a long while. Will definitely go back & recommend to others. - WeBCMPING

Wonderful campground -quiet, secluded, large sites and fabulous bathrooms/showers. My husband commented that in our 2 years of full-timing they were the best showers yet! AT&T cell service - 1 bar, used our Verizon air card for decent connection and Verizon cell service was pretty good. Mostly level spots. Sites included an in-ground fire pit and table. There is a small pond with a circulating waterfall in it that people could swim in with a very small beach. There is a game room with 2 pool tables, only one of which was working, air hockey and some other games. They also have a slightly covered area for groups with picnic tables. The campground host/maintenance guy was great. The office has interesting hours - opening at 10 but they were never in the office when we came by. They are a Good Sam park but when I called to make a reservation I was told they had no discounts and my credit card was charged the full rate. Upon our arrival there was a big Good Sam sign at the front of the park and when I asked for my discount one of the women at the desk told me I could only use that when I purchased my membership, the other woman corrected her and then the first got kind of indignant that I actually wanted that small amount ($2.70) refunded. We stayed an extra night and went in twice to try to pay and request the discount again to be credited but at our check out they had yet to run our credit card for the second night. I hope when they do run it they apply the $5.40 two night discount! We would definitely return. - Bill & Debby's Wild Ride
Jul 2016 - $38.00
When I called to make the reservation 3 weeks prior, the person I spoke with was impatient and rude. Come to find out, it is really a "Seasonal" occupied campground, andd they aren't too happy to have us weekenders. And the Seasonal sites are a mess! We arrived late afternoon on Friday 7/22, it was 92 degrees. We had a nice private and shady site (110). We connected to the electric and water, within 20 minutes the power (A/C) shut off, my husband (an engineer & electrician) restarted, this went on a few times. He called camp maintenance to look at it, they said it was us (funny, has never happened anywhere else). 45 minutes later the power for the entire campground went down for 2 hours. Good we had a generator. We have a small dog, had planned to see area but could not leave her in the RV without A/C. We decided to go for a swim, pool was being shocked because it was so nasty. A/C worked enough to sleep on 30 amp (paid for 50 + the add $2.50 a day if you're going to use A/C, really? yes, really). We left first thing the next day. I really thought it would be a lovely experience, Christian campground on a lake, no one was kind or helpful, no one was friendly, not even the campers. Disappointing. - GR Peggy
Sep 2011 - $36.00
Sites very narrow. Paid regular price with no discounts offered and many amenities already closed before end of season. The water at this campground is awful, has awful metal smell and taste even after filtration. Most campsites were permanent resident campers with many in need of repair. Free Wi-Fi is 20 minutes only then $ after that. The entertainment for the evening was the drive by of the numerous golf carts. We would not stay here again. - McNutt
Jun 2010 - $35.00
Christian family campground, nice folks out in the country. Very quiet with mostly seasonal people except on the weekends when it gets busy. If you are looking for a nice family camping trip, this is a good place. - racomarley
Sep 2018 - $40.00
Stayed two nights on way through the area. Very nice campground, all concrete pads, many long pull throughs. It was off season so it was mainly seasonal and passing through occupants. Reasonable rate on off season, but very pricey during summer! Nice little lake with canoes to rent. Easy access from highway. Close to shopping and Mt Pleasant has an awesome greenway trail that goes through town. - janebob
Jun 2017 - $40.00
This park was fairly new. New concrete pads, updated electrical hoop-ups and new trees. It was a beautiful park and lots of things to do for the kids as it was close to a small beach with lots of equipment to use in the water. There was also a shuttle every fifteen minutes to the casino. It was by a small airport, but there was no noise that we noticed. - Marilynintexas
Aug 2016 - $62.00
Big rig friendly, long sites but not very wide. Small Campground. - KCook3
Oct 2017 - $20.00
We were told to find an empty spot and then tell the office. Some of the sites look like pull thrus but are really pull in back out because of the placement of the utilities. Our site was level. There is a dump. - har-fl
Jul 2012 - $18.00
We love this little campground. It is a hidden gem in Mt Pleasant. It is beautiful with its tall trees and city park right next to it. A great place to relax and go to the Soaring Eagle Casino. You can take the shuttle or just drive 3 miles to it. - Gypsies11
Jul 2011 - $17.00
A little rustic, but this park offers large shaded 50 amp pull through sites in a beautiful wooded setting. In spite of all the tall trees, we had no problem getting satellite service. Posted price was $18 per night but the guy in the office must have thought I deserved a senior discount because he only charged us $17. I've stayed at campgrounds that weren't nearly as nice and charged over twice as much. - Same Old Bob
Aug 2016 - $15.00
Nice fairgrounds park, mainly level sites. No problem with the power but never more than 7 units here the whole week. Available dump station.
Stores within a few miles. There is a casino nearby. Some road noise but not bad.
Flea market on Wednesday morning but not many vendors. - mrracechaser
Jun 2016 - $15.00
Isabella County Fairgrounds offers water and electric sites, first come first serve, except during the fair. Pick up an envelope from the board at the entrance and put it in the mail slot in building J. This building, by the way, is at the other end of the fairgrounds. So if you aren't up for a bit of a hike, consider paying before you get settled. It's an honor system, and they accept Passport America. Most of the sites have 30amp service. There are about 8 sites on the back row that have 50 amp service. All sites are mostly level on grass which is well mowed, at least when we were there. Interior roads are gravel. There is one site 59, which we fortunately snagged, with partial shade. The rest of the sites are out in the open. Easy access getting in and out. The only ding is the road noise as the campground is situated at the corner of two very busy roads. A sign indicates that there is a flea market every Wednesday May-Sept, for those who are interested in that sort of thing. We camped here in a motorhome. There were only two other RVs in the campground. There is a dump. - Free
Jun 2015 - $15.00
Very nice large site with water & electric (30 amp). Sites were grass & newly cut. The staff was very nice & helpful. we would definitely stay here again. - bonniesoo
Sep 2017 - $39.00
We stayed over the Labor day holiday weekend and really enjoyed our visit. Our campsite was big enough and right nearby the main building so we were near the daily entertainment. The pool was really nice, as were the bathroom and showers. The kids are already asking when we can go back. - naner
Aug 2016 - $39.00
We stayed in this campground for one night. While it would probably be good for a longer stay as well, it was great for an overnight visit. The entrance is a little over a mile from the US-131 exit: very easy to get to. Since the time we arrived was later, the office was closed, but our reservation and site info was posted at the office door. And the owners checked on us later to make sure all was well.
Our site was very good size, as are most sites in the park. We were at a full hook-up site in what appeared to be a newer area so there were not trees and shade, but some of the electric/water sites had good shade. There were a lot of season lease sites but they appeared to be well maintained and many were in a separate area.
While we did not use it, the pool was beautiful and appeared to be quite new. The showers appeared to also to be quite new. The bathrooms, while older, were well maintained and clean. There are a number of recreational facilities available at the park (mini golf, rec room, basketball, etc.). We could only receive a few TV stations. The cell phone reception was good. Wi-fi worked well. The nearby town does not have a lot of businesses and we could not find any fast-food type restaurants close for a quick supper.
We recommend this campground and will stay here again when we are in the area. - RXA-ADM
Aug 2006 - $28.00
We were not very impressed with this campground. The
restrooms were very small and not very clean. I was actually in the restrooms t two different times while they were being cleaned and could not believe what a bad job they were doing. We bought fire wood that was very wet and when we complained about it, were told that we must not know how to start a fire. They finally exchanged it for us and this wood was also wet. THe Amish baked goods were wonderful and the kids enjoyed the wagon ride. The pool was decent. The kids would have been very bored had it not been for the pool. We are not planning any trips back to this campground. - momma5kids
