The park is all dirt and pretty old. We were not allowed to participate in the Christmas in July activities with the children unless we paid extra. We were allowed up to five people - but only 3 of us adults over 62. We would have enjoyed being with our nieces and nephews. That was the purpose of camping next to each other. This campground is not for our family. We will choose another next time. - BigSisy
Jun 2015 - $1.00
We stayed on a private lot on the property with full hookups. The owners of the park are relatively new (3 years) and have made huge improvements in the facilities. This was once a Western Horizon Park, now much improved. Our conversation with the new owners indicates they are proud of the things they have achieved, the condition of the facilities and the additions they have made. We enjoyed our stay here and would return when in the area. - SilverBear
Jul 2011 - $4.00
This park has had some bad reviews in the past. The dusty roads have been fixed with a spray. The ant hills are still here, but don't see a lot of ants. We put stuff out and it is gone, so it is working. We found a site that has full hookups and still can get satellite with a portable dish. Lots of trees. Power & water are fine. Very few people here during the week. Office staff is all business, but OK. Workers are friendly and helpful. Park is not near any large city, so we probably wouldn't stay here again. Grand Rapids and Muskegon are 50 miles away. - eclp64

Really great park! Large lots with grass. A nice pond the kids can swim in. Nice clean pool. The owners and staff are friendly and awesome! We are staying for a month and a half we like it so much. The creek is fun for the kiddos to play in and catch frogs and critters. We always ask they release them after having a good look see. Flies this year haven't been bad. Deliver wood to your site. They brine the roads so no dust. LOVE that! - Tom Keenan
Jul 2009 - $28.00
This was our first stay at this campground and I have to say that we will be back. First thing to note was how friendly the staff was during our whole stay. Firewood is delivered to your site, bathrooms and showers were always clean. Pool is not heated, a bummer for the kids as it was in the low 60's the entire weekend. Also the store was not well stocked. We forgot to bring hot dogs so the owner gave us a pack from his own freezer! Little gestures like that make a world of difference. Sites are enormous, but some are not very level. - 08toyo
Aug 2007 - $28.00
We stayed here while going to Michigan Adventure which is approx 20 min away. The campground was very clean had just been taken over by new owners that season. There is a play ground for younger kids and a very nice pool. The camp store didn't have a whole lot but I'm sure it was just a start for them. The sites are the biggest I have ever seen, I'm not sure of the exact size but there was a lot of room. There was a golf course right down the road that looked very nice as well. - inkd4life
Aug 2016 - $31.00
Park was clean and the staff could not have been nicer! Lots are spacious with sunny/open exposures. Site surface is gravel, dirt and sand. Features a fire ring and picnic table.
Complaint is that there is no TV signal (5 channels), no Wi Fi even at the store where there was supposed to be some, and no cell phone signal.
In this day and age I feel that a campground that is charging a pretty good price should have at least TV and wi fi. - User3353
Jul 2013 - $39.00
Many different sites available. Electric and water are popular. Good level full hookups. Wi-Fi very weak and sites are controlled to limit traffic. Had to use smart phone for email and trip planning. Hiking trails are good, and canoe/kayak/tube livery is close and excellent. Very friendly and helpful staff. A well established park (I used it in 1978) and they continue with improvements and new sites. - Hornman
Jun 2013 - $41.00
We really enjoyed this park. We had a site right on the creek and kids played in it all day long. They also have a decent sized pool, playground, basketball court, fishing lake nearby, small arcade, and small camp store. It is a large campground that is spread out into smaller sections which makes it seem smaller than what it actually is. Our site by the creek was quiet. There is quite a bit of shade and nice sized lots. It is 15 minutes away from Lake Michigan. Montague and Whitehall are both very nice, quaint towns. It is on White River so if you like to canoe it would be perfect. - focchick
Jul 2011 - $25.00
The family that run this place are very friendly but this place really needs some updating. The bathrooms are dark, dirty and old. The flies are over running the place, mostly because of the animals on-site. The campground is facing a swamp. The electric hook ups aren't adequate, our circuit breaker kept tripping, as did our neighbors. The cost wasn't bad if it was just 2 of us but we had to pay extra,$8.50 each per night, for our 2 children because they were teens. - JanieS
Jul 2010 - $25.00
This park was what it advertised, but then again it wasn't. There were playgrounds for the kids. They looked very old and lots of the equipment was in the water because of the changing water levels. Our three year old couldn't play on any of it because it was all for older kids. There is easy access to a very nice lake across the road with a small beach. However the lake that the campground (and play equipment) is on isn't clean enough for human use. Spots weren't ideal for RV's but they could be made to fit (ie. not level and very sandy and hilly). If you were tenting or boating/fishing this would have been a great spot, but it wasn't for us. We will not stay again. - raider_tennis
Jul 2009 - $25.00
Very poorly run campground. They don't mow the sites and grass was very long. Restroom needs a major update. We were told to pick any one of two sites we wanted. The next day we were told we had to move over one site. Playground equipment was in water. There was no place for the kids to swim due to weeds in water. Would not stay there again. - kodie09
Aug 2016 - $39.00
We were greeted by a member of the staff standing a few yards before the campground entrance. She directed us to a location to park the camper so we could register. Upon leaving the registration office, we were greeted by the owner, who handed us a bumper sticker for the campground after he had seen the 100 plus stickers on the back of our camper. We were directed to our site which was large and spacious. As we set up, the owner came over and we had a pleasant conversation, very nice man. Overall the bathrooms were clean, though the staff had their hands full trying to keep up with the kids coming and going with wet sandy feet from the lake the campground sits on. The grounds are well maintained and the site was level, but be warned they are sandy. We camped here for 3 nights and will happily stay here again. - alkurta
Jul 2016 - $45.00
After reading some of the other reviews we were a bit skeptical before arriving. Wow were we pleasantly surprised. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. We had a large group (1 deluxe cabin, and 4 pull thru sites which were huge) everyone we were camping with loved the place. The kids loved the park especially the zip line and jumping pillow. The water was very clear and the beach area was nice. The water slides were an added bonus. They maintained the sites very well, we saw many people leave and the staff was there cleaning each site even raking the fire pits.
There were rules, but I understand why, in order to keep safety and the ability to have fun activities like the water slide there has to be rules.
We rented kayaks and a flat bottom boat which was fun as well. Overall we were very happy with our whole experience at the KOA and will be going back in the future. - Kari Amore
Jul 2014 - $45.00
My family's stay was pleasant. The owners and staff were very friendly. The beach and water toys were great fun for the kids as was the good fishing and the trails. Our site was rather small as well as quite sandy, which meant a lot of dust flying around. - AlCamMum
Jul 2018 - $50.00
Don't be fooled by the older reviews, this campground is under new ownership and is a great place to take the family. Lots were well kept, facilities very clean, great club house and lots of water fun. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Camp hosts were helpful as well. Plenty of options from full hookup to primitive to cabins. We will definitely stay here again!! - L Baker
Jul 2018 - $42.00
The campground is under new ownership and they have done wonders here! Beautiful lake for fishing and kayaking! Clean facilities! Wonderful and friendly owners. We have a spot on the water. You do hear road noise but not very bothersome. Plenty for the kids to do. We will be back here. - Deb E
Aug 2015 - $37.00
Was told noise wouldn't be surprised problem, it sounded like 31 highway was running through my side yard. Lake had algae growing and is not fishable. Staff not friendly. PASS THIS ONE BY. Roads are rough, park on grass, trees extending into narrow gravel roads. - Butcherboy13
Aug 2018 - $89.00
Great park. Very spacious with level paved sites and roads. Nice clean fire pits. They clean fire pits and wash tables between occupants. Close to amusement and water park so good place for families. Helpful staff. Water pressure needed to be better. - 69 scotty
Jul 2018 - $64.00
This was a very nice park. Lots of families staying for extended periods. If you are a smaller fifth wheel or a camper the spaces are well suited for you. Your RV will fit on the concrete pad & your tow car on the concrete space adjacent to it. If you are a larger motor home like us it is a tight squeeze to fit the tow car in. There is a dog park but it was off in a corner under the trees & looked like it would be loaded with mosquitos. There are plenty of places to walk your dog other than that. The laundromat was very nice. The office staff was very nice. The park is gated for security. You get a key card that you can drop in the box outside the office if you leave before the office is open. If you bring pets proof of vaccination is required at check in. We had no problem pulling in satellite signal. There is cable, too. The amusement park across the highway did not cause a problem while we were there, either with noise or traffic. - Connie's Co-Owner
Jun 2018 - $45.00
Everything at this park is well done. The grass is green and cut; the pads are level, utilities are good, streets are wide, laundry is clean, pool is nice. It is the best place to stay in the area. - Freedom Bus
Jun 2014 - $34.00
Clean, nice, caring. THese folks know how to run a park. THe management is super helpful and keep the park and bathrooms immaculate. - mkohl
Jul 2010 - $35.00
Wonderfully located and very quiet, River Farm is an ideal location for relaxing, fishing, boating or just strolling through the nearby towns of Pentwater, Hart, Silver Lake and state parks. It is near I-31 but far enough away to not be bothered by traffic noise or trains. Roads and sites are gravel and ample for big rigs with slideouts and awnings. Electric and water are excellent. Only a few sites are good for satellite TV reception but local TV has only 2 stations which breakup frequently. Owner lives on premises and is very friendly and helpful. We would stay here again. - loneranger
